The burger is kind of greasy, but definitely something worth trying. The fat is what make the meat so juicy. One of my favorite spot for burger.

I’ve been to Smashburger a couple of times and I can honestly say that it’s better than 5 guys but it’s not something to rave about. The burgers are a bit overpriced but you can really taste that the beef and other ingredients are more fresh. I custom made my burger– regular beef with American Cheese, Lettuce, tomato, pickles, spicy chipotle(which was not spicy at all!,) mayo, applewood bacon, onions, and mushrooms on a brioche bun. Really like the onion topping and mushroom which gave the burger extra flavor. The bacon was too salty so I didn’t really like it, and I would do without next time. Overall the Burger was tasty, much better than fast food burgers like McDonalds or Burger King, which is what we expect given the prices for Smashburgers. Burger + fries = ~(around $ 13.50) I’d definitely recommend getting the smash fries which are tossed in Italian olive oil, Rosemary, and garlic(the garlic isn’t overpowering, even good for those who aren’t a fan of garlic!) but if not the regular fries are pretty good as well. This specific Smashburger restaurant was pretty small, but very clean. The staff were very friendly and even took the time to go over to our table and ask us if everything was fine and if we needed anything. Excellent service, and good burgers. If you’re expecting over the top amazing burgers, don’t get your hopes up high, these burgers will definitely satisfy a crave for burgers but they’re not the best burgers I’ve tried but much better than average.

After trying smashburger, I really think 5 guys burgers are more tastier and fries are better tasting. only plus of smashburger is more variety and milkshakes, but I probably wouldnt return.

I was really wanting Shake Shack and since there wasn’t one nearby, I was hoping that Smashburger would suffice. It really didn’t… 5 Guys would have been much better and Wendy’s would have at least rivaled this place and may have even been a better option.

I spent the better part of my time here looking around the room trying to figure out what the«hook» was. What makes Smashburger unique, different, better or worse than any of the 7 trillion other burger places? I still don’t know. Do they have a unique philosophy? Why is it called Smashburger? I had so many unanswered questions I could barely enjoy my hamburger. The food failed to provide an answer. Yes, the beef is fresh and the burger was juicy and tasty, but it didn’t make me leap out of my seat. I think it’s like a slightly higher quality Burger King, where I could«have it my way» via limited hamburger customization and sides. They have sweet potato fries. Is that the hook? Did I get it? Someone please advise. They offer a fairly extensive menu of burger and chicken sandwich choices and Haagen Daz ice cream shakes. So it’s kind of like Sonic, maybe? But I would push my own mother down to get to Sonic, and I can’t say I’d do that for Smashburger. It seemed to be a popular hang out for high schoolers who can eat this fatty, salty, sugary garbage and not suffer from debilitating and immediate diarrhea. So it’s kind of like The Peach Pit from 90210 or The Max from Saved by the Bell, perhaps? But those had super hot eighties girls wearing stone-washed overalls hanging out in them. Not here. I liked my meal and henceforth, when I drive past this restaurant I will think to myself, «Hey, you have eaten there and it was satisfactory.» I just don’t think it’s the kind of thing I’ll maniacally crave or anything. Just another pretty good burger place… albeit more mysterious… enigmatic. What is your secret, Smashburger? What are you about?

The bun was stale, the fries were cold, the burger was burned, and the service was terrible

I didn’t love the burger here. The service was really slow and they messed up just about every order we had.

Not usually a fan of the«modern» burger places like 5 guys, Smashburger, etc. I find them overpriced and overrated. No different here. I ordered the New York Burger and spicy fries to go. The fries were INCREDIBLY salty, and I like salty food but it wasn’t even edible. They also didn’t give me any of the ranch sauce that it said came with the spicy fries. More than $ 10.00 for just a burger and fries, no drink. I live right across the street but I don’t think I’d go back. If I was in the mood for a quick greasy burger I’d just go to Burger King.

I said this back in February and I will say it again seven months later, they still get my order wrong EVERYTIME I go there. They always forget a topping, or two, or three, that I ordered and they frequently forget an item altogether. I just ordered from their website for pick up and of course as soon as I get home and open my burger they forgot my jalapenos. They must have TERRIBLE management that they can’t orders right and that they are this sloppy. It happens so regularly that I have just come to expect it. Please get your act together, I am sick of it!!!

It’s my first time here and what a fantastic fast food joint. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is yummy! I had the Sin City burger… OMG it was Delicious but their smash fries is what closed the deal for me! Highly recommend Smash Burger in White Plains, NY!

The food was pretty good here. You won’t be disappointed with the original Smashburger. I wish I could have tried the milkshakes. People were ordering them left and right and they looked AMAZING. I would have given 5 stars, but there was a minor issue with ordering because the woman behind the register had to leave her register to serve guests in the restaurant. I was left waiting on a line with no one to take my order. The workers seemed to be overwhelmed with the high traffic at lunch time. There should ALWAYS be two people at the registers if it’s that busy.

The burger was meh and the place was filthy. The line forming the orders was unorganized and the menu was ponderous to look at. I ended up going with the classic big smash and water and no sides = $ 9.64. There are plenty of place much better to spend your $$ @.

This place is better than I expected. The cleanliness is ehh but the quality of the burgers are there. For the price, the burgers are a bit pricey since they are small. For a single, the bun/veggies:meat ratio isn’t that great. I ordered a regular smash burger and an order of smash fries. The smash fries were excellent. They were cooked to perfection, and they were crispy and not overly greasy. The olive oil, rosemary, and garlic added a nice flavor to the fries where you do not seek ketchup. The rest of the burger options look interesting, and I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back. They do have outdoor seating.

Love their juicy, succulent, Mouthwatering Burgers, tried them all. They’re always cooked to perfection, and you have a choice of buns and with aioli fries the perfect combination. And if you’re into salads they have a whole sleu of those too. Come on in and Enjoy

My first visit to this particular location. So I order one of the«specials» the Windy City Burger. The burger patty itself is almost perfection. It’s crunchy and crispy on the outside without being over-cooked on the inside. I will build myself a custom burger with mayo instead of mustard next time. So why dock them a star? Well the floor was so slippery that I almost fell. The food runner was sliding along like on an ice rink. Finally, someone put a yellow sign on the floor, you know the type they use when they mop. I have no idea how it happened but they are damn lucky nobody fell. I needed a fix and I got one!

I’m a fan… Definitely great if your hungover. I went yesterday to get a burger to go and had no complaints. The fries with the rosemary hit the spot also. Staff was friendly. 0 complaints by me. Also this was my first time — so they have something called«smash sauce» — its just okay — nothing to rave about, but it also didn’t stop me from inhaling the burger.

I ordered their signature Smash burger with a side of smash fries. It was greasy when I got it probably because of the fries which had olive oil, rosemary and garlic. I could not eat the whole thing was a bit too garlicy. My friend ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, and I’m not sure who handles the cutting of the meat because it was so thin it looked like paper! The chocolate shake was pretty good and they were nice enough to give us the metal cup with the rest of the shake that couldn’t fit in the glass. I’ve been to several burger places so compared to all them this place was ok maybe it was an off day when I went.

Out of necessity and convenience, I’ve been back to Smashburger around 3 times since I first visited back in October. I have to say, they really have grown on me and it’s turned into a nice and easy place to get lunch every once in a while. Their chicken sandwiches really do hit the spot when you want something quick, tasty, relatively healthy, and cheap. Also, my wife has said that their fries have been consistently good as well. I also like that their sandwiches are customizable with a host of unique options(goat cheese, fried egg, different kinds buns, different sauces, etc). It would be cool however, if they added more options or rotated them a bit, since the same choices get a bit stale after a while. That aside, there are some issues which make me feel that Smashburger is an average burger joint more than it is extraordinary. For example, they still can seem to nail the veggie frites, which are often neither appetizing or consistent in quality. Today’s batch was like eating raw veg bathed in vegetable oil. Blech. They have made it correctly before, where the exterior is crispy and the interior is perfectly cooked, it’s just that you never know if you’re gonna get goodness or garbage. I also hate their online ordering which is useless. Today I tried to place an order for pickup and it said it wouldn’t be ready for 45 minutes. I cancelled, drove by, and got my food within 5 minutes. There wasn’t even a line. I’m not sure why there is such a disconnect between the estimated times and reality, but it really does render the online ordering useless when you can just order there and get your stuff faster. Smashburger won’t blow your mind most likely, but it’ll get the job done if you want something fast and cheap that isn’t McDonald’s or Burger King. Three stars.

January 2015 Update: This location has only been open for about a year but the beginning of the end has already arrived. The highlights of Smashburger have always been food quality and customer service. At the White Plains location, both are failing. My kids are picky eaters so until now, Smashburger has been a godsend in that both kids absolutely loved the SmashChicken sandwiches. No longer. To ring in the new year(I was here about one month ago) Smash has apparently replaced actual chicken breast with over-processed, flavorless chicken/rib meat and it was a massive FAIL with both kids. I tried it and it was barely edible. In addition to the chicken sandwiches, I ordered a milk shake and a side of large fries. They brought over the sandwiches and asked if I was waiting for anything other than the fries. I mentioned that pesky milkshake and they ran off. When the guy returned with the milkshake, I asked about the fries and he said they were coming. Ten minutes later, we were still waiting so I walked over to the kitchen area and the guy asked me what I needed. My fries, I said, eyeballing the THREE orders of fries sitting under the heat lamp. He said someone would bring them over. I told him we were already 15 minutes into our meal and returned to the table. And watched. And waited. As fries came and went. And then my fries popped up under the heat lamp. And even though we couldn’t tolerate another bite of those awful chicken sandwiches, I thought that if those fries could just somehow make it to our table before they cooled off, we might be able to salvage something of the meal. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, we had finished eating. I invited the manager over and gave her my laundry list of complaints and she listened attentively and gave us a few coupons but the damage has been done. Returning is questionable.

Ordered the BBQ Burger with Smash Fries — dining in. The cashier forgot to give me my ticket # for my table so when I realized it I walked up to her, she was occupied with something else with her register and didn’t even see me walking back up to her. I ended up taking my little number flag and going back to my seat without her even noticing me. Kinda scary… When my burger arrived it had 0BBQ sauce on it. I had to ask the guy who delivered it to my table for the sauce. Also, my fries were cold… The food is good but I think they seriously need to take a look at the staff who seem to not care. I’ve been to the Smashburger in Pelham a few times and always had decent service…
