I am from out of town and ordered my niece’s birthday cake based on the fact that it looked like this was a professional bakery. I overlooked the fact that the icing looked like it was drawn by a complete amateur… but then the cake itself was stale. Needless to say, nobody asked for second and we tossed away the remaining. Embarrassing.

Cake fell at my wedding so the guest didn’t get more than a sliver when I payed for everyone to have double slices! I had such elaborate plans for my cake. They fired the cake decorator a week before my wedding and hired an inexperienced girl to take it over and she absolutely had no idea what she was doing. I am so disappointed that I trusted this place to do a good job. They ruined my wedding cake and I was embarrassed with how it looked as it wasn’t straight before it fell and looked nothing like they said it would. BUYERBEWARE!

They did our wedding cake back in 2008 and it was amazing — the look, the taste, and the price. Bravo!

I have visited this bakery sever times over the past dozen years and have never been disappointed. The shop is brightly lit, clean and well staffed. the bakery display cases are always well stocked with fresh product. I am primarily a donuts customer, but have tried a few other items. My favorite is their apple fritter; huge and very tasty. Being diabetic, I shouldn’t be coming here at all, but as a rare treat, it can’t be bad. yes, I will be returning.

Two friends of hubs and I decided to get married in Milwaukee, in a very small ceremony that was at our local Mosque. Being they were not from Milwaukee, I decided to be the one to have a small reception at our home, with gifts, picture taking, and dessert afterwards. They held the ceremony on a weeknight(hubs and I both were working full time then) and we were notified only a week in advance about them coming. Wanting to be a good host, and at least make a bit of a fuss for them, I decided to order them a wedding cake with their names written across the cake. It was our first year in Milwaukee and we had no idea of any reputable bakeries, so I googled cake shops and found Regina’s in Whitefish Bay. Considering they are in prime location(a great neighborhood) and on my way home from work, I figured they must make pretty decent cakes so I gave them a shot. I ordered a large carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and fancy frosting decorations with differing colors, and their names written across the top. After the ceremony we came home for pictures and cake, and I was disappointed, to the point of embarrassment. The cake was so dry it was to the point of tasting burnt. The cream cheese frosting was also dry, and tasted nothing like cream cheese frosting, instead it was flavorless and like eating a forkful of sugar. Two of our guests quietly chatted to each other«brownie cake is so much better» and I felt bad watching everyone pretend this cake was good, forcing themselves to finish the huge slices they were served. It was horrible. There is no recovering from that experience. I will never step foot in Regina’s again. Seriously, how do you get carrot cake wrong?!

Located in Whitefish Bay’s gorgeous little village shopping district, local merchants have outdone each other creating beautiful storefronts with well-merchandised windows. Regina’s is no exception and looks fantastic from the exterior. Being a BIG fan of patisseries(and their awning advertising them) I made COUNTLESS loops around the area trying to get a decent parking spot. I would have given up if the storefront didn’t look so enticing, had I seen what was on the interior I would likely not even have stopped. The specialty at Regina’s seems to be making custom cakes that frankly don’t look too different from what you can pick up in the grocery store. I am sure some would yell and scream at such an allegation but I am sorry based on the items I tried, these bakers do not have much skill. The interior is dull, the staff is not very welcoming, nor are the owners who completely ignored me as I waited while they serviced another customer. I understand of course you have to wait, but at least say hello to someone or call someone from the back. They have little fruit tartes that look like the ones you would find in French bakeries but they are NOT, they are nasty American aberrations. So I settled for an almond/pear tarte which did not seem to have any pear in it and tasted old and nasty. Milwaukeans may like this place but that’s because they have been in Milwaukee for too long!
