Dinner here is great also but this review is on breakfast. Unique food, generous portions and awesome service. Had plenty of coffee and the Farmhouse Skillet. Delicious. Be sure to stroll the grounds and splash in the creek before you go! A perfect Saturday morning.

OMG!!! I’m craving sweet potato pancakes at this moment while writing this, lol!!! Never heard of such a thing until yesterday at brunch. So, as you can see, this comment is all about the sweet potato pancakes! The pancakes were made out of wheat flour and pretty large and fluffy too! It came with freshly made pecan praline sauce which was amazing along with side of bacon cooked to perfection! I’ll admit, the service could have been better but I understand that it was packed with hungry folks! Totally recommended by this« Unilocaler Helper»! :)

Ate their recently with my boys. They really enjoyed having their pancakes(for dinner) served on frisbees as plates. The staff was super nice and accomodating. We all enjoyed the food. Nice to have a non-chain option of this quality in the area. Definitely would be a great place to stop for a Sunday meal after church. We plan to go back soon.

Fantastic, friendly service from our waitress Tasha, who made us feel right at home and made sure that my lemonade was filled to the brim. I ordered off the breakfast menu — sweet potato pancakes with pecan praline syrup and bacon on the side. The bacon was too crispy for my tastes — almost like bacon chips. The pancakes were huge. I would have preferred my sweet potato taste, but I was blown away by the amazing pecan praline sauce. I’m pretty sure it was just melted caramel with pecans. YUM!(OK, it gave me my sweet quota for the week, but still… YUM!) My wife ordered the fried chicken. It was tasty. Not at the same level as Belle or Beacon Light, but good in its own right. We both thought the sweet potato fries and the skillet greens were fantastic.(Especially the skillet greens — perhaps the best preparation I’ve had in Nashville so far.) It’s not highlighted on the menu, but I thought the biscuits were stellar too. I believe this place is run by the same folks who operate Loveless, which is of course famous for its biscuits. These biscuits are a bit different — less fluffy, more substantial, but wonderful in their own right. Came with a mixed fruit jam that seemed homemade. Prices were very reasonable. After such a filling meal, it was nice to take a hike on the trails around the Fontanel property. Personally I was slightly disappointed with the trails — very rocky, hilly, no views whatsoever. But the trails are shaded, so that’s something I suppose and there a few nice benches along the way. Still, if you’re planning a meal and then a hike, you might want to eat at the Farm House and then take your hike somewhere else. Beaman Park is fairly nearby and we might try that next time. Oh I nearly forgot to mention that there was some live music as well starting at noon — an Americana /Bluegrass trio. They kept the music at a moderate volume level so that it wasn’t overwhelming, but just provided a nice ambiance. Good stuff. For now, I think the music is just Saturday and Sunday at lunchtime, although there may also be more jazzy/bluesy music on Fridays around dinnertime. The restaurant does have a covered porch with some pretty meadow/hillside views if the idea of dining al fresco sounds appealing. Overall — highly recommended!
