Enjoyed the comfy environment. Food was good. Service was excellent. My only complaint was the Ramen noodle was actually pre package Ramen noodle not fresh Ramen noodle but it actually tasted ok considering they use package Ramen. Good experience overall. Definitely will come back!

I decided to come to Omani today because it was the only place I have bookmarked around the area that is on my way to BJ’s and Target. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised as to how spacious and cute it actually is. Best of all, it is well-ventilated so you won’t leave smelling like food. I love how their menu consists of a wide-range of items from your typical American breakfast of pancakes, bagels, omelette, and toast to Korean-inspired sandwiches and lunch boxes to even ramen. Quite the identity crisis I say, but at least it brings in people of all different backgrounds. I opted for the bulgogi hero and my husband got the spicy pork hero. We had to wait nearly 10 minutes to get our food since each order had to be made on the spot but that’s okay since we weren’t in a rush. The sandwiches are rather large and can definitely feed more than one person if you aren’t too hungry. I was kind of disappointed that the bulgogi was minced/grounded meat which was not what I was expecting. Plus it only makes eating it sloppier which is a pain especially since they don’t have bathrooms for customer use or wet-naps. It was fairly flavorful with a kick but nothing crazy exciting. The sandwich itself was just okay. I had a bite of the spicy pork sandwich and quite frankly forgot how it even tastes since it wasn’t memorable. Would I recommend Omani? Meh… P. S. If you do decide to come, be sure to check-in on Unilocal to get 10% off.

Stopped in for lunch one afternoon craving for a steak hero. The reviews did not disappoint. Ordered a cheesesteak sub sandwich and a mango smoothie. The meat was well seasoned, spicy hot and delicious. The mango smoothie was just ok. The guys behind the counter were cool, will be back for lunch.

Got 9 sandwiches from here while my bridal party and my hub were setting up our wedding venue in Fort Totten — ~1.5 mile away. Came in around 1:15 and ordered the following: 2 sweet and spicy chicken, 2 bulgolgi sandwiches, 2 spicy pork, 1 grilled chicken, and 2 pork sandwiches. I got the sandwich with rolls @$ 6 each and they were cut into 2 halves. They were not huge but big enough to fill me up for lunch. I had tried sweet and spicy chicken and spicy pork. Neither were spicy. My favorite was a bite of the bulgolgi sandwich(beef) that I had stole from a friend. I’ll definitely go back and get that next time. There was also a lunch special for the combo plate at $ 8 and comes with a can of soda. it’s a pretty sweet deal so. may try to do that next time also! The only downside was the amount of time it took… there were numerous other customers and with a large order, it took me about 20 minutes to get my food after placing order. tip: 10% off when you check into Unilocal

Love is an understatement when it comes to this place. I am not an expert in Korean food but I do love food. Their bulgogi beef is amazing as either a sandwich or in a box. The fried rice is perfect not to greasy and still sticky. If you get the box it comes with a corn salad and pickled broccoli its very refreshing. Their fried chicken, is so crispy and juicy. The french fries are from fresh potatoes and they always check with you about seasoning. They also have really good breakfast specials, which are largely portioned. We bring my 16 month old here and he loves everything as well, if something is spicy they always check to make sure its not for the baby when we are ordering. I have never had anything from here that I did not like. All of the employees I have ever interacted with have been extremely nice and polite. The place is very clean and the food comes out pretty quickly. They have a highchair which is awesome for little ones too!

The owner does care about his customers. I had an issue with an order regarding the fried chicken and sauce. They didn’t send it initially after having provided sauce previous orders. They should have better communication and more consistency with their service and products. After my complaint, In the end they corrected the order and made up for their mistake. Hopefully they offer the sauce with consistency or even charge for it. I have no issue paying little extra for it. It can be a great chicken option.

Everyone wrote so many great review of this place so decided to try it. Ordered a tofu sandwich with omg spicy sauce and beef sandwich. First off, the beef was nice and tender and chopped to little pieces, but it was so salty, not to nice sea salt taste which gives a bit of sweetness with the saltiness but this was pur soy sauce saltiness without it being diluted with any water. I took 3 bites and could handle so decided to get some rice thinking that might help. It didn’t it was still too salty to eat, so couldn’t eat anymore. My friend had the tofu which she said was good, but there their omg spicy sauce was too sweet, so she too ate it with rice. Maybe they were off today because they were busy, but even though you are busy, you have to make the food editable. Maybe I might give another try and re write a new review, but that seems like a slim chance at this moment.

This is a great place to grab breakfast and lunch because the platters are at such an affordable price. We had a breakfast platter and the spicy pork sammie for $ 13! The Korean flavors are very savory and hit the spot for us after a morning run. The gentlemen working there seemed courteous and nice. I was surprised to see that they are open 6:30 to 10pm Monday through Saturday, seeing that it was a small shop.

Had the bulgogi wrap and jeyuk(spicy pork) on a hero. I was thinking the meats were going to be traditional but it’s not. It’s Korean-inspired and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The bulgogi texture reminds me of a Philly cheesesteak. The meat is cut up into very thin small pieces and has a nice kick to it. The jeyuk sandwich was tasty and very flavorful. It’s not as spicy as I thought it would be and tips more towards the sweet side of the scale. A good sandwich always starts with good bread and Omani nailed it. Would love to try their platters next time!

I work in the area and this is my go to place. This is the best example of a family owned establishment there is. Everyone is always super polite and genuinely happy that you walked in. The food is out of this world fresh clean and healthy fair. I used to only get the sandwiches which are prepared with way more attention to detail than necessary but now my go to order is the chicken box. Little bit of fried rice a dumpling some veg and some cream corn all come together to make a perfect whole meal. If it’s not how well your treated it’ll be the food that keeps you coming back.

First time coming here and would give 3.5 stars(rounded to 4 for Unilocal’s sake). Came here on a tuesday night around 7pm. Kind of hard to find parking around the neighborhood and was surprised that this place was empty and had only 1 worker. Initially didn’t equate omani with eomonni(mom in korean). Cute interior it’s like café meets deli style. Not many seats here, can seat up to about 6 people? I initially expected this place to be booming with people, I guess I came during off hours? When ordering food there was a language barrier because the older lady could only speak Korean, no big deal because she was very nice and we talked to a gentleman on the phone regarding placing the order to go. Ordered 2 beef(bulgogi) sandwiches which added up to approximately $ 15. Is this older lady eomonni? Either way, goddamn she makes a good sandwich!!! Sweet yet spicy with a «pinch» of tang(mustard tang? Not sure but it’s delicious). This sandwich is the lovechild of an italian hero with peppers and korean bbq. It was literally an unexpected flavor bomb, I mean I did read the Unilocal reviews stating that it’s good. Didn’t realize it would be THAT good. This place is worth a try, you won’t find a sandwich like this anywhere else. Also they sell cute hair accessories(like the korean boutique shops in flushing) and other products(bing soo, breakfast platters, bento boxes, ramen). Will update my review once I visit again and try their other stuff.

My hubby loves the bulgogi hero. Says he could eat it every week. We’ve ordered it about 3 times and it’s pretty consistent. Nice toasty bread and piled with chopped up meat. I find it a little too minced and somewhat over cooked. Yesterday we tried the spicy chicken box which is $ 8@ lunch time and comes with a canned soda. The chicken chunks were well seasoned and nicely sautéed with peppers onions and carrots. The box comes with rice, one fried dumpling, a little bit of greens and a corn/broccoli salad. Overall, i enjoyed the lunch box a lot and would come back to try one of the other meats. We have aldo ordered sweet potatoes fries and onion rings. Both are tasty but the portion was kinda small. The service is great and guy running the counter is attentive. Interior is very simple and im guessing a family operation. I always see the owners kids in there which adds to the neighborhood feel.

Discovered this place after it was recommended by a friend. Passed by several times but never thought much of it, as I wasn’t sure exactly what the place was. I think they could probably use more attractive signage to get people’s attention. Anyway, I’ve found many amazing Korean-American fusion dishes inside, including the Bulgogi Quesadilla(my absolute favorite) and several chicken sandwiches. The quesadilla comes with a side of creamed corn(that’s my best description of it) that is just plain awesome. The ramen soups are great as well… don’t be afraid to get them on the spicy side! Order ahead if possible, the food can take a while to be prepared since everything is made fresh to order. But that’s a good thing, isn’t it? I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for something different.

Hidden little gem in Whitestone. Lived here forever and just found out about this place. I’ve had the spicy bulgogi hero and chicken quesadilla from here. Both great items with tons of flavor. The chicken quesadilla comes with this sweet spicy sauce on the side that’s really good.

Amazing place to discover. Everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. Found this place via Unilocal,so I knew I had to try the Beef Bulgogi sandwich in which I got on a hero at medium spicy while my date Rob ordered the beef plate. We also ordered mango smoothies as well as the fried dumplings. Smoothies were awesome! Everything was so good! I don’t know how else to put it! The sandwich was so good I almost shed a tear. The beef is kind of sweet with a spice to it. I really enjoyed it and planned to return very soon for some more! When you put awesome people with awesome food together. it doesn’t get any better!

Found this family-owned place through Unilocal. It’s just across the street from McD’s along a strip of other shops — so easy to miss when ripping, I mean driving along Francis Lewis Blvd. I tried the bulgolgi wrap and the chicken ramen. The big pics behind the counter and other people slurping noodles helped make my decision. Definitely will be going back for the bulgolgi. Very moist and flavorful. It tasted like a cross between pepper steak and a cheese steak. The ramen was ok. The broth was the only highlight. The chicken was dry and the veggies were either too tough(big chunks of cabbage) or too mushy(thinly sliced onions & peppers.)

Omani is fusing Korean flavors with American staples, and something delicious is happening. The sandwiches are so good. It’s a cross between hoagies and kbbq styled bulgogi, pork and other meats. Bread is soft, and the meat is tender and full of flavor. I tried the pork and it was super juicy. Their menu is pretty diverse, not just having sandwiches, but ramen, fried chicken and quesadillas. They all look delicious. I want to come back to try these. There’s plenty of space to sit, and the service is very friendly. Suggestions: –My only hesitation in giving it a 5 star rating is that I wish their sandwiches were a little bigger. Could something delicious be a little bigger? –Omani, have you ever thought about kimchi fries? Maybe some steak fries, kimchi, with shredded bulgogi and cheese, topped with a gochujang/spicy mayo sauce… mmm That would be delicious. I would come out just for that. Regardless, I still recommend!
