Great service, delicious rolls, sweet owner that comes around and makes you feel welcomed and occasionally offers free dessert to try. Been coming here for years and never fails to impress.

Worst sushi I’ve ever had. Turn the heat on in your building first of all. Disgusting amounts of crunch. And 3 chopsticks full of lettuce does not equal a salad that you pay separate for. Also, maybe serve the people at your tables at the same time. I didn’t get my food until my friend was completely done eating.

Ordered take-out.(Sashimi lunch) I’ll let you be the judge. Didn’t know crab meat was part of sashimi. Also. The 2 pieces octopus meat was still frozen. I might as well get it from market and hotpot with it.

I’ve been coming to this place since college and their food have been consistently good & fresh. My favorite rolls are green Mountain roll & pink panther & fried green tea ice cream . Great local sushi restaurant, thus place is definitely one of my favorite spot.

In Flushing you have an enormous choice of Japanese and quasi-Japanese spots. Takara is a place I consistently return to, and why? I hit the sushi bars on Tuesdays or Fridays, and order sashimi along with their great house special rolls. The fish is cut well, fresh and tasty. On my last visit we had some tasty red-wine glazed lamb chops. nice special. the food caters heavily to the western and americanized asian palate, so no one should be afraid of any of the dishes. the price is great and the service as well as can be. sake and beers are available and warm sake is really a nice pairing with the cool sushi and sashimi choices.

A nice find near work. Extensive sushi menu including standard favorites and chef special rolls. Definitely recommend the«tuna bomb», tuna tartare enveloped in sliced avocado. Eel and mackerel sashimi were fresh and tasty. Would certainly go again if circumstances required.

Just passed by and ordered a super deluxe bento box… For $ 20 you get a rice, soup/soda, seaweed salad, Cali roll, and two entrée choices. I thought … Not bad! I chose beef Thai red curry, husband chose general tsos chicken… Welp the portion is really good for 1 person sadly. The food was good, general tso cooked perfectly. Curry was great as well. My only sadness was the small portion… Rice was only the small plastic container. Even for one person, that amount does not suffice. This restaurant looks great, dimly lit with great decorations. By the window, you will see domo, who blends into the wooden seat. I’d definitely like to eat in next time. Not bad, can’t wait!

Hands down– the Best sushi place in Beechurst/Whitestone/Bayside area. They offer a wide array of fresh sushi rolls to choose from at reasonable costs. The quality goes beyond the sushi because their Gyoza is a must-have and pineapple fried rice was delicious. I get it– you didn’t come here for fried rice and like I said, the sushi sure doesn’t disappoint here. Enjoy!

The jury is out but so far service is questionable. No avocado no Bueno. Why it’s not possible to make a roll without avocado in it and call it a day, I have no idea. I had to reorder and then it took longer than expected for simpler rolls. The crowd was overly rambunctious and it was just three middle-aged women getting ‘turnt’ on a Thursday. No attempts by the staff to quiet them down. It’s decent, but I’ll take my time and money elsewhere.

Pretty decent. I had the spicy tuna sushi since it’s my favorite kind of sushi. One roll is 6 pieces and is $ 5. Pretty pricey since it didn’t taste amazing and the tuna didn’t seem too fresh. Not crowded, in fact only 2 tables were full when I went in during lunch hours.

Wow. What a nice surprise. Randomly decided to try this place out bc I was in the area. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. Bathrooms, dining area and reception are all spotless and nicely decorated. The fish is FRESH. I don’t know where they go salmon this fresh. I’m very impressed. Best time to test out new sushi places is for lunch. The prices are always super low and the place is usually pretty empty.

I come here after my visits by the Throggs Neck Bridge. The décor is very warm. The place is cery dimly lit and can hold about 30 people. I love how intimate it is. They have a little VIP or family section in the back behind some curtains. Love it. The bento box comes with a choice of anything you would like from the menu. I got the string beans and garlic with a side of tofu, rice, shumai, and california rolls! All of that for just under $ 10.Its amazing. This is will always be my go to spot whenever I am in the area.

one word: FRESH! Been to most of the sushi restaurants around the area and no place beats the freshness and atmosphere of Takara Sushi. Most places nearby area all you can eat, meaning you get the lowest quality fish which is probably just about to expire. Even as a sushi beginner, you can clearly taste the freshness of the fish that they serve here. Being in this area, I wouldn’t choose any other place. Their menu can be a bit overwhelming but I like this. You have so many options and awesome rolls to choose from that you can technically come here for many years and try something new each time! If you’re looking for FRESH and delicious sushi in a nice atmosphere and like to have options, this is the place to be.

Takara is the restaurant that I’ve been to the most in my life,(15−20x) and I owe it to Takara to explain why I’ve been so many times. The menu is huge, encompassing, and daring. The prices are fair across the board, if only a twinge higher than other sushi places and the service is exquisite. It’s an excellent spot to eat with groups and dates alike. Finally to top it off the food is superb. Among all the foods that I’ve ordered here are some notable favorites of mine: The Lobster King roll — a bit pricey but my favorite sushi roll at any establishment it’s a classic eel avocado roll brimming with a lobster topping The Chicken Thai Basil — Very flavorful, the portion is enormous and the Thai sweetness balances perfectly with the heat that the basil holds(I hate spicy foods, but this dish is great) The Mongolian Beef — delicious, lean, and hearty if you are in a «I’m way too hungry for sushi» mood Pad Thai — Generous portion, remarkably low priced, it’s essentially 2 full meals for 10 bucks and it’s very tasty(chicken is the best one) The Hot & Sour soup — I order it nearly every time, great starter and brimming with veggies, a bit spicy but really great, particularly in winter The Chicken Teriyaki — Not a heavily sauced dish and a super clean, light chicken teriyaki that you can eat and still feel like running a marathon. My favorite chicken teriyaki anywhere. The sushi-pizza appetizer — while I still have no idea what is in it after the 3rd time I’ve ordered it, it’s really really good, not to mention the owner gets excited whenever anyone orders it. Very unique dish, never seen it anywhere else and is a must try. Finally, for those of you who enjoy drinking and are of course above legal age, get the cold sake. I know what you are thinking, hot sake is always better. Well that’s not the case at Takara. Try it, it’s fantastic.

Excellent service. Even though they were understaffed for the number of people there, the food was served expediently. The food itself was very tasty. However, someone in my party noticed that the sushi now has the rice on the outer layer, as opposed to the seaweed. In my parties opinion, seaweed in the outside helps the sushi stay together better, and facilitates dipping and preservation of soy sauce. Will definitely come back to this place.

Best sushi ever! I have eaten here dozens of times throughout the years and I have never been disappointed. The fish is always fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is low key casual, all about the food. Wait staff is always on point. All the rolls are great, sashimi wonderful. As far as the hot food goes, lets just say, the sukiaki is very tasty and one of my favorite dishes, especially on cool nights. I love all of the various udon dishes as well. This is my local go-to Japanese restaurant.

When my friend brought me to this place. I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t even think their was a sushi joint around this area?! But, I simply loved it. The Sashimi was fresh, we also ordered the special scallop roll and the stampede roll. It was quite big actually. I normally hit up an ayce sushi to get more bang for my buck. But this would be a spot I would like to go if im not beasting on them rolls! Rawr! I also like their cook food selections. We also ordered the Thai Snapper fish! It was definitely delish! Parking is easy and you’ll definitely come out full!

I had been here years ago for a birthday party, but forgot where it was after all these years. It wasn’t until a friend recommended coming here for dinner when it all came back to me. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, which is why it is a favorite among friends over the years. They have a large dining area and can cater to large groups too. As for their rolls, their menu is a little confusing. Their large menu has a number of rolls, but then their take out menu lists so much more. It took a while to go through them all to settle on something. When you finally get the rolls, they are huge! And I don’t mean they are stuffed mostly with rice, like other places. Takara actually gives you more fish than rice, which is a nice thing to see. Even though Takara is not close enough to order take out, I don’t mind driving the extra 10 mins to have a nice sushi meal once in a while!

My boyfriend’s family knows the manager so we order food from here very often. I love sushi and I always get the lunch special which includes a miso soup, and 2 sushi rolls(spicy tuna & philly). I’m not picky about my sushi and so the sushi here tastes good and fresh to me. The udon noodle soup is also tasty. I can’t remember the names of the other sushi rolls we’ve ordered but those were always yummy as well. Overall the prices are average for sushi rolls. But the best deal is the lunch special!
