Wish I could give 0 stars. Went here yesterday with my family. We seated ourselves which the sign said and sat there for about 10 minutes and no one acknowledged we were there. Three waitresses were standing around talking to each other and no one came to serve us or even let us know someone would be right with us which I think is the rudest thing you can do in the restaurant business. I will also add that it wasn’t very clean in there and looks like they never vacuum the floors. Do we got up and left. We went to Debbie’s Kitchen on 58 and the service was great, our waitress was amazing and the food was yum!

Come here very often. Best breakfast I’ve had in the South Shore. Ordered most of the menu before and enjoyed every single thing on there. Only gave 4 stars because servers are not friendly and usually packed on the weekends and takes a long time to sit down and get food. But the food is exceptional.

I may be bias since I work here but we do have pretty amazing tasting food and a pretty sexy staff if I do say so myself. A few tips for newbies. You can have your home fries grilled if you are on a diet(ask for lite oil) or have a gluten allergy. We don’t offer them unless the person asks or has an allergy. Also, if your omelette has veggies in it, ask for them grilled(unless you like them raw). The waitress will usually ask you but in case she forgets or is busy, just a heads up. And be careful to check if your omelette comes with cheese as not all of them do! We also have gluten free bread in which we can make French toast/sandwiches or a la carte etc. and depending on the severity of your allergy, we have un-coated fries that are gluten free but we do use the same fryolator. Oh and I can’t end the review without mentioning our marble rye bread. Delicious!(P.s. For vegetarians: try our eggplant parm! The best I’ve ever had. No joke. And another lunch option: grilled veggie wrap. Have waitress ring it up as a grilled cheese and add whatever veggies you desire. Instead of bread ask for it wrapped! Comes with ff(or a different side if you prefer) enjoy!

Ted’s place is an outdated new england breakfast restaurant right near whitman center. Big picture windows look out at a busy intersection making you the scenery in an edward hopper painting. Breakfast is solid, staff is nice, can be a wait to seat yourself.

A great little breakfast spot. The food is delicious and for very cheep prices. MY personal favorites are their corned beef hash(which is home made) and their Boston cream pie pancake(two pancakes with Boston cream in the middle and chocolate syrup & whipped cream on top). Only complaint is the parking lot is very cramped. It can be tough to get in and out when it’s crowded.

As Joy said, normally I would write a review if I hadn’t eaten there either, but this has to be said. The place was full when we walked in, one group was leaving, opening up one table. So we waited, as we are waiting, I notice how disgusting the place looked. The carpet looked black when it was actually supposed to have a blue/white design on it. After 5 minutes of not even being acknowledged by any staff, a waitress told us that in order to be served, we must sit at the dirty table. The table would not get cleaned off until we sat at it. At this point, we left. We wouldn’t be served unless we sat at a dirty table? We went to Millie’s down the street and the service was great and the food was excellent. Will not try Ted’s Place again, and good luck if you want to leave a review on their facebook, they will just delete it and not even respond to address your concerns.

Usually I would not review a restaurant if I hadn’t eaten there, but I have to make this exception. Went in for lunch this afternoon and walked out, 10 mins later after seeing how many dirty tables there were and being completely ignored by the staff. The place was FILTHY! The ceiling had brown stains all over it, the carpet was disgusting, there were 5 booths that we walked past that needed to be cleared and washed off and the booth seats were all torn and ripped. Two waitresses walked by us, no menus, no acknowledgement, for 10 mins. When the first waitress walked by us a 3rd time(to finally clear a table) we left. To be honest, the ignorant staff probably did us an enormous favor. Have never had such an awful first impression of a restaurant. Ever.

Love Ted’s Place! Love their omlettes and home fries. It is so much better than The overrated Omlette Factory in Hanover, Mass.

Pros: corn beef hash was really good, good service, always refilling coffee cups Cons: –my major problem with this place was the omelets. i ordered the vegetarian omelet(onions, peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, ect.) and the veggies were completely RAW… not cooked at all… not sure if it was a new cook, or this is how they always have been doing them. but it was not tastey. also, it didn’t come with cheese. –pretty expensive for breakfast

This ‘place’ has been in Whitman for many years and I never ventured in, which is a huge regret now that I have. My sister was in town for the Turkey Day holiday and wanted some breakfast after her overnight plane trip from Cali. This seemed to be the only non hole in the wall establishment that sold breakfast and wasn’t an out of the way chain restaurant, so we gave it a shot. Boy, what great choice that was too as the prices are amazingly low and the food was so beyond excellent. I had the Eggs Benedict(2 eggs option) for $ 5.75, a side of Homemade Corned Beef Hash($ 2.50) and coffee(I can’t remember the price on that but it couldn’t have been much more than a buck) and the portions were perfect, as I was almost more than full. The hollandaise sauce was perfect and my eggs were perfectly poached. I don’t have a bad thing to say about Ted’s Place. The bill came to about $ 33 for 4 people with full breakfasts and a couple side orders(a giant omelette, pancakes, french toast, and bacon). Great food! Amazing prices! Good atmosphere! Don’t miss this local hidden breakfast spot. I will most definitely be back when I crave a breakfast meal that I don’t feel like cooking myself.
