My favorite chips and burrito spot has officially closed down. This was my side of whittier staple! Sad to see them go but hopefully a good spot comes through. RIP to dollar breakfast burritos

Came here to get a machaca burrito with papas. First tried it last week when our trainer surprised us with it and it was off the hook. Today, I brought my husband to get a couple and we could barely find any beef in the burrito.
Still taste good and to my surprise they were only $ 1/​per burrito which is an extremely good value. I would have paid more if it taste like it taste last week.
Don’t think I would come all the way over here for beefless breakfast burritos though.

First time here and wouldn’t recommend it. I ordered a torta de Asada and it hardly had any meat. Mostly lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. The salsa bar was dirty.

This place is ok, the menudo is good but note, if you check-​in, Unilocal offers a 20% off coupon but according to the cashier, the owner said not to accept coupons from the phone. Defeats the purpose of checking in to the business. Well, I just won’t check in, lame policy.

Completely average white boy Mexican food. Cheddar cheese, sour cream, all that nonsense that is synonymous with Southern California’s take on Mexican food. Don’t expect anything special or authentic, but you can at least expect something edible and decently tasty. Getting sick of seeing microwaves used so openly in these places, though, I’ll say that much. Portions are average, and they’re a little pricier than these sorts of places usually are, but you can gorge yourself on the free chips and salsa they offer to get your buck’s worth if you feel so inclined. Worth a visit, overall.

Food is good, they would have gotten a higher rating. I don’t know if we came on a wrong day or they are just not staff correctly. We walked in placed our order. Staff is very friendly, but the cleanliness of yhe salsa bar and dirty tables along with the chips on the floor by the salsa bar left me dissatisfied. Either they need to staff more workers in the am or train the staff to constantly bus the tables. If I could I would have given it 2 and a ½ stars.

Ordered the Machaca Plate and when I got it, it had no meat, it was all egg. I almost thought they’d given me the wrong plate. It’s cheaply priced so maybe that’s why they don’t include meat in it. I wouldn’t mind paying $ 2 more to make it the way it’s suppose to be made. They have a Unilocal check in offer for 20% off then they tell you it has to be printed out to redeem it. Obviously the cashier has no idea how Unilocal check in offers work.

Just ate there today. I used to love this place and their potato tacos/​sopes. I got the potato tacos today and they just tasted different. But I ate them all anyways and even ordered food to go for my friend. As i was getting ready to walk out I saw a brown cockroach crawling on the wall!!! It was coming from the kitchen area and went to the soda machine area. :0 I was so grossed out and shocked. I was even thinking about using this place to cater some upcoming parties. But I just cant now. I wont be back here after seeing that.

This a good go to place. I don’t think I would drive A long distance for their food but grew up with it here. The food is good. Nice Eat&Talk Place. Good for all around families, Friends, quick take out. They also have good daily Specials. :)

Well I have always been a fan of this place I went recently to this resturant and I was not happy. The tables were dirty and so were the chairs. We asked for someone to wipe the table and they did. Apparently, they do not clean their rags. The table smelled like a dirty locker room and we didn’t even sit down yet. Thats how potent the smell was. so we moved to a different table.
I got some soda from the machine and it was watered down and did not taste anything like the soda I chose.
I gotta say that the food was good. The nachos were great except they hold off on the meat.

Sad to say the place is on the decline… I don’t like giving bad reviews but I stopped here for a burrito recently and ordered the mojado Chili Verde burrito (thats with wet sauce) — very average. Best way to sum it up is by saying it was A lot of nothing-​special wrapped in a tortilla! And for $ 9.81 it definitely wasn’t worth it.
They must be taking shortcuts in the kitchen to save costs I think … The beans in my burrito were cold and they had that metallic taste you get from canned beans. The sauce looked good but it tasted bland and too salty. Even the substantial smothering of melted cheese couldn’t save it — and I love cheese!
Sorry to see this place slide as it has. I loved it back when it was burrito brothers. it was always busy back then and with a steady clientele that precluded taking short cuts in the kitchen. :-(

.It’s tough to find bargains now a days so when I saw breakfast burritos on Unilocal for .99 each I had to check this place out. I ended up picking one of each — chorizo and a machaca which included choice of one ingredient — beans or rice.
The chorizo was the better of the two and I wouldn’t bother next time on the machaca next time. The burritos were not greasy to my surprise. Juan’s is quite busy due to the breakfast burrito specials so be prepared to wait and deal with a crowd even during the week.
