I found MJ’s Upholstery here on Unilocal.After looking through other re-​upholstery business I felt this one was the best choice for fixing my mothers chair. And I wasn’t wrong. Eric was awesome. Not only did he do a great job repairing my moms chair but he was very professional and very polite. I wish I had a before picture but the end result was amazing and needless to say it was more then worth it. I highly recommend coming here if you need upholstery work.

I found MJ on Unilocal.I took Eric 6 old chairs directly from the auction, were I purchased them. They needed everything… webbing, gluing and reupholstering. It is a family business and it is evident that this family loves what they do. I had no idea how much this work would cost and I had not prepared myself for how much it would cost to make my ‘bargain find’ into useable pieces of furniture. I decided to go ahead and get the work done, feeling comfortable with Erik and also realizing that it is not worth the effort to go price hunting. I am so glad that I made the decision to have him do the work. I picked up the chairs today. They came out so much better than I imagined that they would. The craftsmanship is beautiful. I am so excited with how they look around my table.

Eric was amazing, Sweet and kind, my mom had a recliner that needed reupholstering badly. Eric, true to his word got her chair back to her in
record time. Her recliner is the only place she can sit comfortably.

What a shame. We really liked Eric and his wife but the sofa that he made us was poorly done. He repeatedly promised to make it right and we patiently waited for many months. He promised our dining room chairs before Thanksgiving and then didn’t deliver and we had 18 to dinner. He recovered a love seat and was supposed to follow the previous patten; which he did not and then ran out of fabric which was no longer available.
I’m going to have to sue him to recover the money that we’ve paid to him

Erick just dropped off my loveseat and I am absolutely thrilled. It is perfect — exactly what I had hoped for and he made two great pillows for free! I was really impressed by what an excellent communicator he was — taking detailed notes to ensure he knew exactly what I wanted, quickly responding to any phone call and keeping me posted as the piece progressed. His wife was also a sweetheart when she answered the phone and gave me excellent customer service on a Sunday morning when I thought I was just going to leave a message at his shop. They run a high quality, very professional organization and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and recommend them to my friends. Almost the best part of the whole experience was the smile on his Erick’s face when he saw how happy I was with my loveseat. It had exceeded my expectations which was exactly what he was trying to do. :)

I brought in a Danish chair in for repair. Sadly, the company that made it is out of business. So, I found MJ’s on Unilocal and decided to try them out. Was told it would take 2 weeks to repair. Things did not go as planned. Took longer than expected. But, they delivered a repaired chair that is as good as new. Customer service at this place is first rate.

MJ’s Custom Upholstery is excellent. Erick is a true craftsman. He’s reliable, dependable and honest. His price was fair, and his work exemplary. My dining room chairs look better then new. I recommend him highly. I will definitely use him again.

I called Erick after several other quotes for a complete upholstery job on a yacht. Erick’s price was great, but the MOST important deciding factor was the communication. Erick is service oriented and treated me like a client, while some of the others acted like they were doing me a favor. Erick took time to explain to me everything the job would entail and his wife brought many samples for my wife to choose from. He maintained excellent communication throughout the job so I never had to wonder what the status was. He even sent me pics of components as they were being completed.
The end result is AMAZING. All of his stitching and seams are perfect. Top notch professionalism, top notch product, great communcation, etc. I will never call another upholsterer.

I have had Erick do a few pieces for my home and each piece is made to perfection. From a tuffed bench to oversized ottomans and custom pillows. He has matched fabric to existing pieces I had already where it looks original. Erick is always fair in his pricing and works with you if you’re on a budget. I will never buy furniture from a store again. I can now know that I can furnish my homes with custom furniture at half the cost. Just show a picture and give the measurements and viola it’s made! MJ’s shop did a fantastic job for me reupholstering two mid-​century chairs. For one of the chairs a significant amount of design work was required to modify and accent the base fabric I was using. Eric was very good at working out the color scheme for the accents, suggesting and discussion various stitch types, and ultimately helping me design the cushions using my «fabric» as a base. Both chairs look fantastic thanks to his advice. Erik’s design skills are outstanding, and his technical skills are also outstanding. He is very easy to work with. The cushions were all done on time and look great. I could not be happier.

Our experience with Erick was really good. He was very friendly and he had a great positive attitude. He provides great services and gives us a great explanation and good recommendations. I would totally recommend his services.

My experience with Erick was exceptional. His work is nothing short of meticulous. He is passionate about providing great service and it’s obvious he takes pride in his work. Not only was his price lower than what it would have cost to get my cushions from the original manufacturer, but I was able to customize and get a design to match my style instead of something prefabricated by a big company. Working with Erick allowed me to get exactly what I wanted while supporting a local artisan and his family.

I cannot recommend Erick highly enough. His honesty, integrity and fair pricing led me to choose him do work on my arm chair and ottoman over other local businesses that I could have gone with. Erick was professional from start to finish and I appreciated the fact that he really has his customers’ best interest at the forefront of his work. Just to demonstrate this, he was the only one who told me that the patterned fabric should match up with the ottoman and the chair so it looks uniform. I know that this took extra time and effort on his part, and he did not over charge me for the quality of his amazing work. No other business would have told me that matching the pattern was even possible, so that just shows me that he really knows about reupholstery and he cares about making the furniture to the highest standard.
He was extremely accommodating and picked up and delivered my chair right from my house. He worked with my own schedule and kept me in the loop with the progress of my chair by sending me pictures of the chair, which I found incredibly helpful and reassuring as a customer.
