This place has amazing southern BBQ! SOGOOD! The burgers are amazing! The Cokes are huge! Plates are huge That gives it 5 stars! The music is soul funk music, disco and later on in the evening some classic rock. But unfortunately the restrooms give this a 3 star. Not so clean or kept up. So an average of 4 stars! KEEPTHERESTROOMUP! This place is easily 5 stars!

I had the tri-tip sandwich and it was really good. The meat was very flavorful and smokey tasting. Comes with 2 side orders… I got onion rings and chili which were both good. Not sure if the chili is homemade or not(my guess is that it isn’t), but it’s still good anyways. Server has the personality of a brick wall, but the food is good enough to keep me coming back.

Are the waiters on strike or owners are too broke to hire more people. There literally 20 people inside the place on a Monday night and one waiter. Coffee was cold, meat was ok, Mac n cheese needed more cheese, mash potatoes was served out of the box(instant mashed potatoes) and finally the world’s nastiest baked beans, the owner should cheat and bu some baked bean cans they might just taste a little better.

I can not believe we just discovered this place! The food was amazing! My husband and I both ordered burgers, I got the chipotle burger and hubby got the Texas one and our kids got Mac and cheese and chicken and everything so so damn delicious! The server didn’t write out order down which j see is a common complaint here but she got ours right and was super pleasant and professional. We really enjoyed our experience and I’ve even spread the word with my family and we’ll definitely be returning!

My boyfriend put it, «the only thing standing between me and good food are the people that work here,» and it’s sadly too true. We’ve been here twice and gotten delivery once, and he’s ordered the same burger each time, because he’s just like that. He ordered the build your own burger with just two patties and cheese with ketchup and mustard, and EVERY time he received a fully loaded burger with tomato, lettuce, onion, etc. It would have definitely helped if the waitress had written down our order… we didn’t see this happening either time we went and the phone delivery process consisted of two women saying«uhh, let me check.» before we finally placed an order than again came incorrect. I ordered the briscuit/tri-tip plate the first time, pork sandwich the second and the chicken wings when we got delivery. The bbq sauce they have is really good, and I was really happy with the wings. Unfortunately the barbecue meat itself was almost inedibly fatty every time — definitely would only order wings again. This place has potential, but the staff seems rather careless and untrained. Hopefully they can improve their customer service and accuracy in the future.

First time here, it was deeeeelish. I had The Munchie, Shrimp n Scallop Mac n Cheese and steak tacos, all appetizers. The Munchie and Mac n cheese could be a single order. Good food, casual spot, come here to kick back eat n drink and just enjoy a relaxed evening. Tri tip great taste. We will be back

Staying at a nearby hotel and decided to give this place a try. It smelled great and the staff friendly — stars. We each ordered the brisket/spare rib combo. I got baked beans and mashed potatoes as sides. The mashed potatoes were very good-so much so that my 5-year-old ate most of them! The beans were just so-so.The ribs were tough. Definitely not the fall off the bone tender they’d get if they were cooked longer. The brisket was sliced on the grain instead of against it. So, they were long pieces of meat that when i tried to cut bite sized pieces across, all it did was shred! It was tough and not good. Strangely, my husbands brisket was cut properly, across the grain. It was much more tender and pretty good. Lots of beers on tap and the raspberry iced tea was good, but not a place I’d go out of my way to return to.

This is our first time at the Red Oak BBQ know for their Santa Maria Style. We have try Santa Maria style BBQ in Santa Maria it’s really good I like a good BBQ that use good oak that give that flavor and the taste it was in Red Oak wood fire. My brother and our friends recommended us to come to Red Oak to try the BBQ. On a Friday I through it going to be a busy night but it wasn’t we were seated right away and booth and the waitress brought us the menu to look at wow the food looks amazing food. We decided to get the bbq meal for two it come with two sides, we got cole slaw and potato salad and my wife wants Mac&Cheese we got it. The waitress brought us our meal the bbq meat looks so good including the sides. Oh the meat we decided to get were the chicken and baby back ribs. I took a piece of the chicken it was good I could taste the oak smoke flavor in the meat but it need more flavor in the chicken. The waitress bring three bottle of bbq sauces regular, spicy and extreme hot. Add sauce to the chicken add it more flavor coming out of the chicken. The sides were good the cole slaw was really good very creamy and lots of flavors in the cole slaw. The potato salad was also good adding bbq sauce add more flavor. I love baby back ribs but the ribs at Red Oak were not tender but tough but it have flavor. I try to put the bones put I couldn’t do it. It just need cook little bit longer that will make it better tender. The Mac&Cheese was good but I feel it need more flavor like cheese or spices. My wife and I enjoy the food at the Red Oak BBQ, we will be back soon.

I have been dragged along to this place for business lunches by an enthusiast who loves the place. Honestly, I can’t figure out what there is to love, except the smell of smoke wafting outside of the building. The food is mediocre at best. It’s Monday night and the places we like are closed so my wife suggested that we try Red Oak again. We both had brisket, which tasted more like pot roast than bbq. Not much of the smoke made it into the meat — I’d say none did. No smoke ring here. Just soggy pot roast like your granny makes. I also had linguica which was unbelievably dry and tasteless. I didn’t care for the cole slaw, which was creamy and a bit tangy. The cabbage tasted like it came out of a bag mix. I did like the onion rings, which were thick and crispy. When I come for lunch I normally get salad. Not saying much for a bbq place. Truth is I have never had bbq here that I liked. I was tempted by the burgers tonight. I saw a couple and they didn’t look bad. That’s probably what I will get the next time business forces me here. However, I won’t voluntarily be back, even on a Monday night.

I wished I would have read the reviews before coming back. I haven’t been eating here for a while. My wife and kids were driving around looking for a good place to eat and we decided to give it a try again. Big mistake. First off my family and I love to dine out. So it is safe to say we know what to expect from a good restaurant. Things started rocky and did not get better. So what I will do is itemize the negatives below, here goes. 1.The restaurant is not that big so when we got inside we were standing for over a bit before we were seated. 2.Our party was made up of myself, wife, our 8 year old daughter and our 2 year old son. My daughter was given a coloring mat/kids menu and my son was totally ignored and not given one. Also I kid you not we were not even offered a high chair for him to use even though he needed one. I was going to ask for one when my wife said to wait and see if they offered one. They are suppose it’s common courtesy, convenient, needed etc. It never happened. He was sitting on my wife’s lap or mine or walking around the whole time. No one cared. 3.Now most restaurants that offer a kids menu offer the typical stereotypical favorite kids items like Mac & cheese, chicken nuggets etc. The good ones actually offer the kids what the restaurant is known for but sized for kids(like Chris N Pitts they offer a mini steak, Joe’s Crab Shack offers a little seafood bucket). Red Oak BBQ nothing when I asked about it the waitress didn’t understand until I explained it to her she said no and offered an adult special. daughter asked for a Sprite and it had a funny taste and after taste. This is usually caused when the spout where the fountain comes out of is not properly maintained and cleaned which could result in food sickness(bacteria and germs can build up). My daughter asked for another drink and I told the waitress it tasted funny and she questioned at first but then just asked my daughter what else she may like. 5.Now this is big with me when I dine. And restaurants and waitresses should know better than to not do this. When we were dining and finished our drinks we were never offered a refill. Come on… everyone needs to drink as they eat. And a good restaurant makes sure you are always filled up. Plus it helps prevent choking. I really dislike it when restaurants/waitresses don’t offer refills during the meal and then still expect a tip. 6.Since they didn’t offer a meal they specialize in the kids menu and that’s what my daughter wanted I order the meat sampler platter for two people. Both the platter for 1 person and the platter for 2 people offered your choice of 2 sides. We ordered the mashed potatoes and the corn cobs. When we received the platter I was shocked to find out that we were offered single person portions for the two of us even though the menu clearly states the platter is for two. I kid you not we were given a single ice cream scope(it was literally served by an ice cream scope) of mashed potatoes and«1» very small cob of corn. To me this is a blatant message letting it known that they were trying to get their profits a little higher. Come really… they should note on their menu that when you order the platter for two that the two people will be sharing side portions for barely 1 person. 7.They offered three types of BBQ sauce mild, hot and very hot. And in my opinion they are too acidic and had a sour taste. Wasn’t all that great to me. 8.We were over charged for my wife’s plate by $ 4.00. My wife saw the bill and insisted her plate was not that much. She got a menu and she was right it was clearly $ 4.00 cheaper on the menu. We told the waitress about this and she said the owner needed to correct this and that he would come to correct it. A man did come he didn’t introduce himself or state who he was. And he didn’t even apologize for the error. He just asked for my credit card so he could refund the amount. I told him such a mistake should not happen. He said the menu was NEW and not accurate. I told him to just give the waitress the over billed amount as a tip(even though her services as stated above was bad). I then started to tell him of the bad experiences stated above. And he walked away. 9.The suppose owner does not care of his restaurants negatives and no apologies are given. To me it seemed that the fact that he got paid was what was important to him. Now like a stated earlier we dine a lot and there’s been times when a restaurant under performs. But most of the times a manager or an owner was involved the problem was corrected, they apologized humbly, rectified to problem. This guy did nothing and walked away. What impression does this give? I’ll leave you the reader to fill this blank in. Please read the fellow Unilocalers negative reviews on this restaurant. A lot of them have experience my similar bad experience. Enough is enough people. A restaurant exists because of their customers. So a restaurant should take care of their customer.

Horrible!!! I Live up the street and have tried it numerous time and each time it Always disappoint ! Never again! Had ordered two burgers and the dos burros appetizer ! Both of the buns were hard as a rock they were different buns as well. I asked for bacon well and it’s was still raw ! It said Caramelized onion and it was just grilled onions. Which is fine but there is a difference. The meat was bland ! My biggest thing is we paid $ 43 and it was shit! Any burger would be better !

I’ve been bugging my bf to come here for the past year, finally tried it today. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. The chicken was extremely dry, and had little flavor. The mac n cheese was pretty good, but it could be that it just tasted good after a bite of my sandwich :(Service was good, can’t complain. but the food was a huge fail. Really upset that we wasted 40 dollars here when we could’ve had something way better for cheaper. I wouldn’t recommend this place ATALL.

Just ordered food from the Seamless app. We didn’t feel like going anywhere and Red Oak is one of the restaurants near us. I love trying new things but regret that I did. All I can say is BLANDBLANDBLAND!!! Ordered a Red Oak Burger and the wheat bread was tough. Couldn’t bite into it and the best part was the mushrooms. I had to add pepper to make it eatable. Ordered a tri-tip, chicken, brisket plate and it was a let down. The chicken was decent and so was the brisket. Tri-tip was fatty, tough, and flavorless. Had to rely on the BBQ sauce they gave us to help us eat. Baked beans were flavorless. I think I’ve had better canned beans before! The potato salad was decent but grocery store deli is sadly better. The big downfall was that we ordered two diet cokes and they tasted disgusting! They were bottled and had no carbonation. I checked the date and they expired 4÷13÷2015!!! Sick!!! I will never eat here again. I really wouldn’t advise that you do either.

Went for 2 beers and 15 minutes later we just left due to the service being so slow. Bartender let the server down and waste of the alcohol. First time and most likely the last to visit here. Just wanted a few brew before the movies across the street.

We ordered online. We had a good experience in that it was ready immediately when we walked in, and didn’t have to sign anything or show the card. The food smelled pretty good but we weren’t impressed with it at all! We got tri-tip fettuccine and the dinner rib sampler plate. The cream sauce for the pasta is completely unseasoned. I added salt and pepper and it helped, but I’ve never had a more bland, unappealing sauce on pasta. It was so fatty, it coated my tongue as I ate it. I thought the tri-tip with the pasta was good, though. I also felt like I should have known the cream sauce wouldn’t be good, because I was given the option of cream sauce or olive oil. Shoulda taken the latter. My boyfriend ate the sampler platter and about threw a fit. :P He has pretty high standards for barbeque. We agreed that the beef ribs were really good, really tender, fall-off-the-bone. The other two rib styles were really tough, stuck to the bones, and in his opinion, overly charred. I thought it was really strange that they didn’t come with any barbeque sauce at all! They gave him a side of au jus, which he didn’t like and I thought was pretty standard, but no other sauces at all, and they didn’t offer. Honestly the barbeque is not good enough to stand on its own without sauce. I feel like Red Oak BBQ is poorly named, because they don’t do barbeque well enough to identify themselves as a BBQ joint.

Okay, I’m not one to B and moan… Seriously. BUT, their food doesn’t outweigh the horrible customer service. I literally had to break up an argument with the MANAGER and my gf over an order that he messed up. Also, the thing is that they seem not to care at all about their poor service. Well, if they are satisfied with being an average, inconsistent bbq joint that focuses on getting regulars tipsy then so be it, that’s what they will remain. I’ve chosen to dine elsewhere. Two stars is for the food that I did enjoy which was inconsistent each and every time I visited… it wasn’t anything better than an average bbq joint. Ps. Props to the bartender, she was the only one with a kind personality of someone who gave an S about customer service
