We come here almost traditionally for Valentine’s Day with my family. We all pick out our favorites and get the«you call it» one pound box. The ladies working the counter look like Lucy and Ethel from I love Lucy(the chocolate factory episode). They’re cordial and especially nice to the little ones. If you want delicious candies that are unique and rich(both in taste and calories) look no further. Mind you, $ 19.00 for a pound of chocolates ain’t cheap, but for the once or twice a year you splurge on you and your family, it’s a pretty SWEET deal…

This review is NOT about the quality of the chocolate/candy. This review is about the quality of their service. I stopped by on Thursday, September 17th, 2015 at around 6:15 pm. The first thing I noticed was that their floor was filthy. There were only two people ahead of me getting their chocolates. When we got there, there was only one clerk available, but after a couple of minutes, another one showed. Anyway, the clerk who helped me was an older woman with glasses, on the shorter side, with a tongue ring. This woman offered the two people ahead of me Kona mocha chocolates, when it was my turn, she offered me the raspberry chocolate. I told her that I really didn’t like raspberry and she gave me a dirty look, a deep sigh, and said, «oh well». Are you kidding? Anyway, I started asking for what I wanted and trusted that she was giving me what I was asking for, when I got home, I noticed that she had given me stuff that I did NOT ask for. I wanted dark and light chocolate with almonds, she gave me WALNUTS instead. I’m sure they label their boxes, so it was NOT a mistake. Wtf? I also asked for the chocolate with marshmallows and lo and behold, I didn’t get any. So to make a long story short, she gave me ¾ of a pound of chocolates with walnuts, and a quarter of a pound with stuff I actually wanted. Their pound of chocolate is 18 bucks, by the way, so it’s not cheap. You may say, «hey, you got See’s candy anyway» but it’s the principle of the thing, I paid to get specific chocolates, if I wanted to get random chocolates, I would have just grabbed a pre-packaged box. I’ll avoid this place from now on; I’d rather make the drive all the way to Brea mall, at least they’re always friendly there.

I called before I came. The person I spoke to is Debbie very nice and helpful. It’s how I found See s candy shop in whitwood mall. I came to buy several boxes of candies to bring to Philadelphia. Suzanne was helpful and answered my questions regarding allergies to peanuts. Do you know that the cannery has a trace of pine nuts and peanuts and of course eggs so that means the chocolates has some trace of those ingredients. So if you have allergens to those beware you may have allergic reactions to the See s chocolates. Anyway, As usual See s will always be expensive. And it’s okay, I don’t fancy it that much. But a family from the east coast would like to have some Sees candies since See s candies are predominantly sold in California.

It’s Easter week. Get your act together! Get there at 10:00 and it’s really crowded as expected. Squeeze thru crowd to gather items and get in line to pay. Only one register because one is not working at all. The dude is adding by hand on paper. I get helped but he tells me they can’t take my coupon because he has no way to scan it. So I assume the other register can do it, but no the whole system is. having a problem. No suggestions of wtf I’m supposed to do. As I start to walk out they offer me $ 5 in merchandise,. I’m already buying 35 bucks worth, so why can’t they just give me $ 5 of what I’m already buying free? Coupon required $ 25 purchase. No offer of when system would be fixed. They don’t care if people walk out or ever come back.

So it’s Christmas and things are busy I get that it’s gonna happen. Seriously I’ve been standing here for twenty minutes and for the life of me I don’t know why??? There are 5 people behind the counter doing what I don’t know cause only one of them is actually helping people. Free samples!!! And great attitude help but still come on!

Same sees candy as always. Pretty good chocolate and a good selection. Service was not very good. Margie was incredibly rude. She didn’t want to help me. She was mixing my things with the group behind me even though I said I was in a separate bill. She kept telling the other ladies I was in the same group as the people behind me. I told her I wasn’t but she ignored me. When I told her I was in a different group, she rolled her eyes and said you should have told me before. Wow! The most bitter old lady ever! The service doesn’t change the taste of chocolate but it’s pretty annoying when she gets the wrong chocolate and puts it in your bag.

#keylimecrush Yes, i can get a keylimepie in truffle form!(the chocolate kind, not the fungus kind as Maggie C says!) Although it pretty much tasted like a white chocolate lemon flavor truffle– it was tasty. The real winner for me was their Strawberry Truffle. I normally don’t care for white chocolate, but it went well with their strawberry filling which was really yummy. It was heart shaped too. Cute!

See’s is one of the best chocolate places and of all the memories you have had when you were a child. I love going into the store it is such an old school feel to it. Also the ladies are always lovely and happy. My favorite chocolate from here is the polar bear caps. It is white chocolate with some peanuts and caramel. Those are delicious and my other favorite is the peanut brittle. I think you guys see a theme, I love peanuts !! :) If you have never been here, you should just go in and browse around and they will give you a free sample. If you don’t want that sample you could ask for a specific chocolate and they will give it to you. Also I think buying chocolates for a birthday, birth, marriage, date and almost anything is just a good gesture for others to think, «lets step back and have some new memories.»
