My husband and I had dinner at Siena Tuscan Steakhouse and the food was incredible. Our server Richie was not only friendly but he was very knowledgeable about the food and wine on the menu. We will definitely make Siena one of our regular places to have dinner.

I loved the place! My husband was a little bit more critical only bc it’s hard for him to try new things. The bruschetta was non-traditional, it was more like a cheese fondue(which I enjoyed but he likes more tomatoes). He ordered a steak Oscar stile which is usually made with crab, asparagus and a cream sauce. They used artichokes and no asparagus so he was a little disappointed. The pork chops was enough for two meals. The mashed potatoes and charred asparagus we fantastic, a must have!

My dining experience at Siena was fantastic. server greeted us immediately and made a delicious wine recommendation based on my description of what I typically enjoy. The La Perlina Moscato was sweet and crisp, I ordered several glasses. For my meal I had the Vegas Strip Steak with the Gorgonzola Potato Purée. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and was juicy and flavorful. I was skeptical of the potato purée at first due to its unusual consistency but it was DELICIOUS, highly recommended! I was nervous about feeling out of place in one of Wichita’s nicest restaurants but the restaurant itself manages to feel upscale and intimate without feeling stuffy. Our server Dan was attentive, friendly, and knowledgable. Five stars all around. Expensive, but worth it.

Service was good, the food was a little expensive for the amount of food that you get. I would go back and try something else maybe… I was on a short time frame so it was sort of rushed. Will try again

Average, Average, Average, pricey but is located in hotel. Very upscale surroundings, lots of dark wood. Desert was fantastic, the rest of dinner ok, but nothing special. Just average.

I went for lunch on Sunday, and the food was delicious. Food takes a while to come, but I personally thought it was worth the wait. My steak was tender and flavorful.

Five star experience! Simply put, this restaurant was an amazing experience for me and my date. Upon walking in you are taken away by the beautiful upscale layout of the restaurant. A great business meeting location or date night restaurant. I went at six on a Saturday however and was very surprised to see the place was very empty. The emptiness did not faze us however, as the confidence and service of the waiter was exceptionally excellent. The waiter was constantly making sure we were comfortable and accommodated, paying close attention to detail. We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer, and boy was that delicious. I have never had bruschetta prepared in this fashion. We also ordered lasagna which was great and a large portion. I was very impressed with the service and food and will be coming back. Service: 10⁄10 Food: 9⁄10 Atmosphere: 8⁄10 little empty on our visit. Price: A little pricey but high quality for the price. Tip: park in the garage behind the hotel, and get the ticket validated by staff when done for free parking.

Had very high expectations, based on the Unilocal reviews. Went for my birthday dinner, and it was good. Not great. I got the veal scallopini with risotto. The veal was not very tender, and the rissoto was decent. My boyfriend got the lasagna, and it was pretty good. Nothing spectacular. My boyfriend also proposed at the dinner, and the wait staff chose that minute to fill our water glasses and buzz around the table. I thought it was apparent we were having a moment… apparently not. Not a horrible experience, by any means. Just did not meet our expectations.

The lasagna was very good. Breakfast was good too. The chef is definitely 5 star. The servers are a three so I give four stars.

The duck legs were awesome, staff friendly, but the pork belly entrée was just ok, fairly boring in flavor really.

Consistency isn’t this restaurant’s strong suit. I’ve been served the worst Italian chicken sandwich conceivable here but yet I’ve had the best grilled shrimp here. The service is always very slow and the waitress’s and waiters have not been fully trained. I’ve eaten lunch 6 times and dinner twice here. It’s close to my office and the décor is beautiful but I don’t offer it as a suggested lunch spot due to the issues I outlined above.

We came here for an early dinner on our anniversary, and it was delightful. The dining room was quiet, which may have been at least partly due to the early hour, but it seemed to be generally cozy and relaxed. The food was delicious, well prepared, and beautifully presented. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, and the warm inviting atmosphere is icing on the cake.

We have been going to Siena Tuscan Steakhouse for many years and have never had anything but an excellent experience there. The food is consistently good, as is the service; and the tables are sufficiently far apart to be conversation friendly. We recommend it highly.

Great restaurant in Downtown Wichita. The food is a little heavy, very meat and potato focused. I ordered the Steak Frites, very reasonably priced, perfectly cooked. Restaurant service is good, our waitress was very knowledgable on wine. Bar Service is a little more on the JV side — Well worth checking out.

While staying at the Ambassador last week, I had a business dinner here. I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be back, but it did need a few little tweaks. All in, a good meal and definitely a five star overall experience. The space is beautiful and the ambience is just right. I like the way it is set up, with the tables all around the perimeter of the restaurant so every one has a view. The interior bar is absolutely gorgeous and I’m sure I’ll be back there sometime! The food was good but not perfect. I enjoyed the Caesar salad — it was my favorite part of the meal. I ordered a shrimp fettuccine, which was good but a little heavy on the oil. It could be lightened up considerably. The bread was also a little too hard and a little too garlicky. But these are just minor tweaks on what was a very good meal with attentive and capable service. I also ordered room service from here and it was perfect. Delivered very quickly, and with all the accoutrements. Definitely a very important part of the hotel experience for me and I’m so glad they get it right, since I plan to stay here every time.

I visited the Sienna Tuscan Steakhouse to have a meeting. Was greeted warmly at the door and shown to a nice table in the corner. The table settings and décor definitely made it feel like an upscale establishment. I usually feel more at home in gastropub or hole in the wall but I didn’t feel out of place or uncomfortable. I was promptly brought a glass of water and noticed that they have a fairly extensive wine menu. Once the rest of my party arrived it ended up taking a little while for the server to come back over. We were pretty engrossed in conversation so I didn’t really bother me too much. I started with a half Italian Wedge salad. It was surprisingly enjoyable. The pepperoncini, feta & peppadews combined to create some great flavors and a hint of spice. I was struggling to choose between steak or pasta and was relieved to see that the Steak Papperdelle provided both! Steak on top of caramelized onions, peas, mushrooms, peppadew and topped off with a delicious chipotle cream. I had never heard of a Vegas Steak. But I learned that it is the newest cut of steak. Discovered in an obscure area of the shoulder that normally is used for chuck due to its fat, gristle and cartilage. My steak didn’t have any of those characteristics. It was tender, delicious and cooked to perfection. I’m used to fancier restaurants having smaller portions but I ended up being more than satisfied with the size of my meal. Overall I was really satisfied with the meal. It did take a bit of time to receive the salad and main course but other than that the service was good and very friendly. I’ll definitely be returning.

I’ve a huge sample set of this restaurant now … dining here a dozen times while on 3 recent business trips. You’d be hard pressed to find a more consistently top-flight experience; of this i’m now convinced. They seem to revamp the menu every month — each time with fresh new ideas that do not disappoint. Tonight was a Caesar and salmon farfalle — both perfection. To those crowing about the service: sit in the bar.

I rarely give a five star rating, but this place deserves it. Let me start by saying that Wichita has a serious food problem. I asked locals where to eat… one said«the pizza place down the street is so good… its better than PIZZAHUT!!» Oh. my. god. Another place that locals highly recommended: Bella Luna. A «Mediterranean» place who’s menu includes the worst gyro you’ve ever had, a Ruben sandwich, and Mexican, Italian and French flavored dishes – none of which are done well. THIS is the place that has been regularly voted as «BESTOF». It’s TERRIBLE. The only thing worth eating was the hummus they serve when you sit down. But people LOVE it. I don’t get it. I get dragged there almost every time I’m in town, and I just want to cry. Anyway, I stayed at the Ambassador for business, and had lunch at Siena on the first day. The salmon dish I ordered was not only EXACTLY what I was looking for, it was done perfectly. Then, after hard day’s work and a cancelled flight, I had dinner there. First, fully aware that I was taking a huge risk, I ordered the escargot. Even at my favorite places, snails can turn out disgusting, so I braced myself… and had some of the best escargot of my eating career(«Eating career» just became a thing, just so ya know). The snails were tender and succulent, the broth was bright and spicy. For dinner, I ordered the chef’s tasting with the wine pairing(HEY I HAD A LONGDAY). I savored a panzano salad, a naked crabcake(no filler, no bread, just crab) with remoulade, a diver scallop with golden beet risotto and vermouth butter, and a perfectly medium rare KC strip with a beautiful, salty crust, topped with some sort of mind-blowing herb-ish sauce. It finished with a(raisin free!) bread pudding that was delightful. Of course, each course was paired perfectly. The malbec that accompanied my steak was so good, I ordered a bottle. So if you aren’t into dried out, pre-packaged gyro meat or «better than Pizza Hut» pizza, go to Siena. TRUST.

Having returned to Siena for a couple more meals, I remain confident in my claim that they’re the best restaurant in the city. However, there’s still plenty of room for improvement. A lunch began with a panzanella salad. With plenty of fresh tomatoes, basil, thick croutons of bread, and nicely presented with the help of a ring mold, the salad was a fresh and light way to start the meal. Coincidentally, the ring mold was used again to shape my burger, though to a much less successful degree. The patty was overworked and slightly overcooked, though the quality of the beef, the seasoning, and the dressings were of a quality I would expect from Siena. I agree with Jim’s assessment of the duck fat fries, which to my chagrin follow the same pattern of the majority of burger restaurants in town by cutting them too thick, resulting in a limp and soft fry, though dressing them with Parmesan improved matters. Another visit brought upon the eight course tasting menu. Probably the first tasting menu in the city, and one that is an extremely good deal for the amount of food you get. At the same time, it’s also uninspired, offering a sampling of seven dishes already on the menu, and without much regard for course progression, ingredient repetition, or portion size. Here’s what I got: shrimp cocktail steak tartare panzanella escargot veal tenderloin in a leek and capers sauce scallop over risotto fillet with mashed potatoes and haricot verte bread pudding I like caper berries as much as the next guy, but they were in the tartare, escargot, and veal. Serving the scallop after the veal didn’t really make a lot of sense to me, nor does the large portion of tartare prior to the panzanella. That shrimp cocktail was a pretty boring way to start the meal, too, and though I’m pretty sure the fillet was dang near the size of a full plate, the mashed potatoes were a bit more chunky than I would expect to find in a fine dining restaurant. I didn’t finish them. By the time I reached dessert(bread pudding of course being the dessert that maximizes the ratio of complexity of preparation against the level of enjoyment), my waiter mentioned he was surprised I was able to finish it all, as many people don’t. If many people don’t finish your portions, you’re doing it wrong. On the plus side, most everything was cooked and seasoned really well, especially the tartare and escargot. And I understand that in a hotel restaurant like this when you’re open seven days a week and the chef’s probably not hanging out in the back on a slow Sunday night dinner service you need to be able to have some dishes at the ready. Still, while each individual course was successful, as a coherent tasting menu, not so much. Eight months into it and the service still has trouble finding that sweet spot between aloof and overbearing. It’s a Wichita problem, not necessarily Siena’s, and I think it’s getting better. At the end of the day you have an upscale Italian restaurant that is not without its flaws, but still very clearly cares about the food they’re serving. Where else in Wichita are you going to find seasonal menus, tasting menus, or beer-pairing menus in collaboration with The Anchor? It’s not even close.
