Tacos Y Mas

I had thirty minutes to get food before work. I wanted tacos and this place was the first one I saw as I was driving to my workplace. I didn’t see any cars in front of the establishment which gave me hope that I would get my food a lot quicker than usual. I quickly parked my car and walked in.
I saw a lady behind the counter so I walked up to her and told her it was my first time there and that I wanted tacos. She didn’t understand me, so I repeated myself. Communication issues made the process longer than necessary, but that did not bother me at all. English was not my first language either.
After getting my order down, she walked back behind the counter and into the kitchen. I had to seat myself. The lady came back with a basket of tortilla chips and two bottles of salsa (mild and hot). I ate the chips and looked around. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. The colorful walls and tables along with the background music made me feel as if I had traveled to Mexico. Great atmosphere.
Approximately six minutes later, the lady returned with my food. I got two soft tacos: barbacoa and steak sans rice/​beans. The barbacoa taco smelled great. The taste was so-​so. It was rather bland. I’ve had better. The steak taco, on the other hand, smelled a bit off-​putting. I gave it a try anyway. The initial bite wasn’t anything special. Strangely, it tasted better and better the more I ate.
Overall, this is a good place to go to if you’re short on cash and want some decent tacos.

I have been trying to find a good Mexican restaurant since moving here from Texas, and finally found this little hole in the wall. I love the salsa, the green one has a kick. They have quick service and the food is very good. I was getting tired of the on the border tex-​mex style Blah food. The menudo is pretty damn good too but this is not a place where you come have menudo and beers, it’s too expensive to drink here.

It’s a lot of good food loved it. Nice people there nice seating. Great proportion of food for the price is a lot I ate so much my tummy hurt lol I was breathing heavy all the way home! Lol margarita was good big as h e double hockey stick. Mist def will b going back up there when I’m on that side of town! U like Mexican food then ride yo tail on in this here place and eat some amazing food!

Have the carne asada mexico city street tacos every time I visit the restaurant. Great salsa!!!

A group from work ate there today and we LOVED it. Most of us are from South Texas and we like very authentic Mexican food and this place fit the bill. We will definitely be coming back.

Menu is the same as la posada, the previous tenant. If you ask, you can order some things that dont appear on the menu. My fajitas were very good, I got quite a bit for $ 12.
Service was spotty. My waitress really seemed like she had a better place to be that particular day. Seated myself, then had to wait until the gentlemen across the aisle were finished ordering before I got any menus. I also had to ask her as she walked by for silverware and plates after my food had arrived. However, even though being the only waitress there, she was quick to refill chips and drinks, and to bring out the food.
All in all, food made up for the lack of perfection in the service department so I will be back.
