Our lunch stop on the way to Vegas. Kids each had a scoop of ice cream, which is actually 2 scoops and that was very surprising! One was a mix of mint choc and regular choc and the chips were chunks and a pleasant yummy surprise. The mint wasn’t overpowering and it was delicious. Also delicious was the raspberry serbet which wasn’t overly sweet but had a great flavor. Both items were devoured first, as the sign says, before dinner/lunch. For lunch we had a cup of the lentil soup, the jailhouse sandwich and a pepperoni pizza. All items came with a side of cream cheese and triscut-like crackers. All were delicious. We enjoyed our meal as we were serenaded by the cowboy in the corner, who was great. Also to mention, the restrooms were very clean and they also sell other handmade trinkets and have really cool signs. What a great stop in or out of Wickenburg!

Homemade ice cream… what could be better??? Chaparral has the best. What could be better than a waffle cone filled with Hassayampa Chocolate and Butter Pecan. That could be replaced with a couple of their other 60 or so flavorers! Imagine sitting in an ice cream parlor listening to an olé cowboy sitting in the corner playing his guitar and singing soft melodies!!! A great lunch… Oh yeah!!!

Last time we were here, we stopped for their ice cream, which is out of this world and we saw that they also had a delicious looking breakfast menu. We finally were able to make it out for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. On Friday and Saturday mornings they have an all you can eat biscuits and gravy and coffee, so we had to try it. The biscuits were delicious and the gravy was pretty good. We like our gravy a little spicier, but it was still good. We also had the It’s Not Eggs Benedict, and that was amazing. They make it with their homemade english muffins and cheddar cheese sauce. Their coffee was also very good, much better than we had expected! I cannot wait to have it again. Then of course after breakfast we had to have some ice cream! You cannot come here without having the ice cream and it was delicious as ever! The service is also always wonderful and so friendly. Also, all the patrons are friendly as well and we always have a good conversation with someone we meet there.

I’ve had this place bookmarked on Unilocal for a few months and decided on a whim to finally drive out there and give it a try. Overall it was a great experience. There were a couple of kids in our party who were super happy with nice double scoop cones. I opted for the hot fudge brownie sundae. The chocolate sauce was very good. «Good» as in «give me a bottle and a straw». I chose the Hassayampa mud to go with the brownie, and it was delicious. Good coffee flavor but not snobby about it. The brownie reminded me of a Texas chocolate sheet cake with the sugary frosting on top. It was good, but I think might work better with the caramel syrup so there’s a little less chocolate fudginess. The place is bright and fresh, and there was a lovely gentleman singing some good ol’ country songs. I’d go back to try some of the other ice cream flavors and maybe to pick up a container of hot fudge and caramel. And maybe a cookie to dip in it! ;-)
