This is one of the few five star experiences I’ve had. This is solely based on their broiled seafood platter. Their lobster roll was ok. Either that or i just haven’t found any lobster rolls that make me go waoh. When I first came here a year ago, I realized this is what broiled seafood is supposed to taste like. Tender, juicy, with a hint of lemon. I remember it like yesterday. It was so good I went back there next day. I still have not found anything better in terms of broiled seafood. I have to put this on my to ten list things to eat.

If you’re looking for a fancy, overpriced seafood place with a water view, this isn’t the place for you. But if you want the freshest, most delicious seafood in NJ, great service, a clean environment, and an an affable owner that really cares about his customers, I believe this is the absolute best place to dine in Wildwood and at the Jersey shore. My broiled seafood platter(flounder, Maryland crab cake, shrimp, scallops, and steamed clams) was incredible. My wife had delicious fried shrimp and crab cake. Joe, the owner, treated my wife and me in such a friendly and helpful way that it was a joy just to meet and speak with him. He projects a genuine concern that his customers have a great experience in his restaurant. I love that! In my opinion, this is the exactly type of local business that everyone needs to support frequently and enjoy again and again. Great for take-out too. This was our first time dining at the Crab and Seafood Shack. We can’t wait to return.

If you first walking the Crab Shack you will probably say is this really a restaurant Or a take out deli? Well let me tell you, this is most definitely is resturant, once you meet Joe the owner you will understand. Joe’s focus is all about the food and oh my god does he focus on the food. I had the seafood sampler with crab cake, scallop, shrimp, flounder and clams. Everything is fresh that day, the flounder melted in your mouth, the crab cake was outstanding. The shrimp and the scallops were seasoned to perfection. The jewel of the night was the steamers, Joe does his steamers in his secret white wine and garlic sause. This sause will blow your mind, it has the perfect balance of wine, butter garlic and other ingredients that enhances the food without over taking the main dish. We eat 50 clams in no time, then using the leftover sause, we used the to dip our crabs in it. it took the crabs to the next level. I highly recommend the Crab Shack and do not let the appearance fool you. Eat there and get to know Joe. it will be a great experience

Our first night and first time in Wildwood! We trusted the reviews and we were not disappointed. Joe and the staff made us feel at home! He chatted with us after the dinner rush on a Thurs night. The waitress was super helpful and very friendly. We had the signature lobster rolls. They are awesome! Came with fries and slaw, both were great. We started with soup. One white clam and one white crab. I’m partial to the clam but both were superb! Very clean restaurant. Limited seating. We arrived about 7:15 and had about a 30 minute wait. Lots of people came for take out while we waited for a table. Don’t hesitate to try the crabs. The tables on either side of us were feasting on some beauties!

This place was great! The food was great and so were the people. Al of the seafood was fresh and wasn’t overly seasoned making it taste like crap. The portions were big and the quality was great. The owner came around and checked and joked with us several times and made sure we were ok with everything. The prices are great for the quality and the next time we come back to wildwood we will make sure to eat here again. We actually may stop on the way out to Beth the lobster roll that we heard so much about.

Excellent, excellent lobster roll. Food wait times were different depending on what you ordered but it didn’t bother us too much and Joe & staff were friendly and attentive. Also, the cocktail sauce is out of this world! Great spot for fresh seafood!

Seriously the best shrimp linguine iv ever had. Pasta was perfectly al dente, and so much, a full two dinners for compact asian kids like me. Nom nom nom, so much olive oil and garlic. Its dronched in it and i love it. Slather it in my bread. Toss it into my freedom fries. America fuck yeahh. Hahah and like the shrimp is so fucking huge. I was like okay, this juicy succulent and meaty fish will do just nicely. Rawrrrr the white wine sauce with the jumbo shrimp makes this perfect. Well worth 20 bucks. Salt and pepper is a must.

This was our first time here. My eight year old wanted crabs. We got half a dozen and they were awesome. There were other things ordered and everything came out good. The service was a little slow but I think it’s expected due to the great taste. They seem to do a ton of carry out.

The food couldn’t be any fresher. The owner/chef is very friendly with an eye for customer satisfaction. We had a party of 6 and the mussels and crab meat was out of this world.

Not what I was expecting, although dinner was very good. It’s more of a takeout-style place, and if you choose to dine in your meals are served in takeout containers with plastic ramekins and paper napkins. I ordered the jumbo shrimp meal with 2 sides, and everything came out delicious. Also, it’s BYOB!

My husband and I are in town for the Wildwood WildHalf run and decided to stop here after reading the reviews on Unilocal!Well let me tell you this place was amazing! Not only was the food the freshest around but the staff and owner Joe were friendly and very welcoming. I ordered the clam chowder and crab cake which we’re the best I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the lobster roll and almost ordered one more to take with us but decided instead to come back before we head home at the end of the weekend. I’ll post the pic of the lobster roll before he devoured it.

This place is awesome! My boyfriend and I went out for dinner tonight in the mood for some good seafood, and we found it here! I had the lobster roll with the fries and slaw, and he had the broiled seafood combo. The lobster roll was served on a garlic roll and seasoned deliciously with dill and lemon! I absolutely loved it. The fries were alright, but I didn’t come here for great fries. I tried a bite of the crabcake that came with my boyfriend’s platter, and it was delicious! The food is served on throw away dishes, which made the dive-like feel even better! We got to meet Joe and chat with him about the food and the area. He even gave us some travel suggestions. The staff here is very friendly, and if you’re in the mood for some great seafood, this place is for you!

Maybe it’s because of my preppy upbringing, but I love divey, hole in the wall places. If this is as counter-cultural and rebellious against my parents as I get, I think I’m good. To me, dives represent not only a subtle way of becoming my own person, but also exploring something that was frowned upon. You have to hand it to a place that doesn’t upgrade their space to an elaborate dining room, where half your check is going towards the rent. They’re basically placing a bet on the quality of their food. That their food is so good, it’ll make up for whatever the place looks like. Intro now finished, I will say this place isn’t gross or anything, far from it, but it’s very modest. From what I’ve read, it was a take out place first and then became a sit-down restaurant. There are only a dozen tables that look like they came right out of your kitchen, drinks are served in a bottle from the refrigerator in the corner and food comes in take out containers even if you’re dining in. Convenient for when you’re too full to finish, saving everyone a step. It’s very much a what you see is what you get kind of place. It was a little tricky to figure out, since when we walked in, there wasn’t a table available, so our name went on the list, and were told we’d be called when our table was ready as we waited outside. But then a group of three went in and were seated before us two, which simple perplexed us, so when another table finished and walked out, we walked in and snagged it as soon as it was cleared off. This was definitely worth it. I had been craving seafood since we started smelling that salty air on the drive down that afternoon, so we shared the calamari and I had the fried flounder and scallops and my boyfriend had the linguini and mussels. The calamari was well battered and seasoned, setting it apart from the generic pubs fare from the city. My seafood was perfectly cooked, the scallops fall apart tender. The fries were perfectly crisp and tender on the inside. My boyfriend was happy too. I will say that the portions aren’t huge. You may want to order another dish to split. Seafood craving satisfied, our shore mini-vacay happily continued.

I went down to Wildwood Last weekend, for a Memorial Day getaway, and let me tell you something: finding a good restaurant in Wildwood wasn’t easy. After few failed attempts to find a decent eatery, It finally hit me, I am a F@@ing Unilocaler. I can tear this Unilocal apart and find at least one good spot. The Crab and Seafood Shack have one of the highest Unilocal ratings. I was sold! I walked the entire boardwalk, north to crest, that is over two miles long. Then I walked an extra mile or two beyond that, to find the ‘Shack.’ Not because it was hidden in the woods, but because the dumb Apple maps didn’t do me any good. One hour and half walking in my flip-flops, this Shack better shake me up. Once I had settled in the restaurant, I realized they were playing a selection of «Golden Oldies«in the background. Bonus! Now, I’m looking at the menu, I see mussels, lobster rolls and, of course, crabs, this place is no joke! A young friendly lady came to take my order, and I paused!!! Oh, I forgot to mention a very little tiny detail: MYSTOMACHWOULDTWISTINKNOTS, every time I tried any kind of fish!!! So, the nice little lady brought out the owner(Joe), to help me make a better choice. Joe and I talked for a quite a while, we bonded over a fishy discussion! I have never developed a tastebuds for fish and I can’t stand fishy fish, even though there was/and still is a famous fish market in the city I grew up in .He guaranteed me, that would change, and it did! I ordered a standard seafood combo: a huge portion of fresh caught Flounder, 2 scallops, 2 shrimps, fresh clams, and the best crab cakes I’ve ever tasted. The combo included two choices of: French fries, baked potato, homemade coleslaw or applesauce. This, um, Broiled Seafood Combo is highly recommended for those of you who has no idea what to order. Eager for more fresh homemade sea catches? Try the flavorful crab chowder… No regrets!!! The Shack shook me up! Five Unilocal Wildwood!
