Surf Bike Rental

While on a family vacation in Wildwood, NJ we decided to rent bikes to tour the boardwalk. Surf bikes was the first bike store we passed we we rented a bike. We payed $ 25 for 90 minutes, which we thought would be more then enough time to cruise on the boardwalk. First thing we noticed was that every other bike store on the boardwalk was cheaper. Average charge was $ 20 for 90 minutes. That is a 25% increase in price compared to most other bike rental places. I could live with that if that was the only issue.
We strolled in 7 minutes past our due time and upon arriving we were told we would have to pay a $ 12 late fee because of that and the fact that they lost a sale because the bike was not there on time (even though 4+ bikes of the same type where there). When I asked about this policy (nowhere is this policy posted) I was called an a – hole numerous times.
Numerous other bike places to give your business too. I suggest you check them out and stay away from surf rental.

While at the Jersey shore for a long weekend, I took a day trip to Wildwood… just to rent a bike and ride the 5-​mile boardwalk. I happened upon Surf Bike Rental, a family-​owned and operated shop. The kids are all involved in helping patrons sign up for bikes. Everyone was eager to please, making the experience a pleasure. Loved that there’s a parking lot across the street which gives free parking when the bike shop validates your ticket. The owner adjusted my seat for my height, and added a basket to my handlebars without my asking. It’s a very reasonable rental, too. $ 8 gets you one bike for 90 min (versus 60 at some other bike shops). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
