Sunday Smorgasburg review: the original for $ 7 with truffle sauce was so small upon delivery that we were tempted to request our money back, but we ended up enjoying them.

Curd’s the Word is a new stand at Smorgasburg for the 2015 season. It sells beer-​battered ‘Chicago-​style’ cheese curds, $ 7 for a small or $ 10 for a large. Trust me on this one and order the large. They have a few different seasoning/​sauce combos, and you can get extra sauces for $ 1 each.
I got the buffalo curds with jalapeño ranch sauce and it was incredible. The texture of the battered and fried cheese curds is amazing, with a crunchy outside and a gooey and chewy interior. The powered seasoning on top and the creamy dipping sauces only amplify the perfection. I don’t care how long I have to spend on a treadmill to atone for these, they were so, so worth it.
