Golden Corral

When quantity is more important than quality, then Golden Corral usually fits the bill. This location is clean, has good variety, and the staff are friendly. I like it!

We had a great time. Typical GC menu just the way you like it. There is even a chocolate fountain.
We came here for lunch B4 Busch Gardens and it kept us filled all tha way through the park till closing.
The parking was good and not all filled up. The thug count was reasonable, and it went well for the whole family.
Take one star for service. It wasn’t bad, but a little slow. Not a deal killer.

Golden Corral is a great place to eat. Lots of choices that are cooked well. Desserts and salad bar are awesome. Loved the deviled eggs lite and tasty. One of my favorites places to eat.

I don’t like buffet style anything, but my Make-​A-​Wish kid loves Golden Corral, specifically this one. The management team is phenomenal. They really run a tight ship. We went for breakfast and I did the best I could to find something I could eat. They have an omelet station and plenty of fresh fruit. I just wish they had other meat alternatives and maybe used less grease in the omelet pan. The restaurant itself was clean and easy to navigate through. I don’t have a standard to compare the buffet to, as I normally avoid buffets like the plague.
The staff and management went above and beyond to make my Wish kid’s send off/​reveal a success. It made the family love this location even more than they did before. While I don’t have any immediate plans on returning, I can comfortably recommend this place for a hearty breakfast for anyone in the Williamsburg area.

First, the fluorescent lights make you feel like you are at Costco/Sam’s club. Second, salty, salty, salty. All the food was extremely salty and overly sauced up. Third, the sirloin steak is supposedly made to order. However, I ordered a medium steak and it was rare. I then ordered a medium-​rare steak and it was burnt. Lastly, I had to go through a number of forks and knives that had food residue before finding some that were clean. This place was an epic failure. The Golden Coral is simply a goose egg. Save yourself a trip.

Omg, this place has a huge variety of food! Bigger than the one in Virginia beach! We went for breakfast and their buffet was decked out. I was extremely hungover so I couldn’t enjoy my food as much as my fiancé but he ate everything he could fit into his stomach. I didn’t have any bad experiences. Walked in, paid, ate, and left! Happy campers! :)

I came to VA for a mini trip and I haven’t been here in so long but one of the things I remember is that my family and I used to go to Golden Corral when we were in the area. So I decided to revisit an old time favorite. When I got inside it was quite like I remembered… The waiter (Ernesto) we had in our section was a real sweetheart he wasn’t my issue with the Resturant. As I was sitting down and after I finished my food a roach came crawling across the end of the table trimming and then crept up into the windowsill. I immediately jumped from the table and told our waiter. Needless to say I left… On the way out I informed the manager, whose name I didn’t get, but he didn’t seem very apologetic however he ‘apologized’ and then went on to say he was going to call pest control.
Let’s just say that will be my last day in Golden Corral. Oh and it was my birthday.

Not worth the price. Larger variety to choose from than the one near home, but not enough for the close to $ 13 per person price tag. Our waitress was attentive for how busy it was, but we wouldn’t go there again. If the food was better, it might be worth the price and dealing with the rude people dining there.

Good food at an affordable price everyone can have what they want. Went for lunch and was able to feed a family of 7 for under $ 45. Lots of healthy options available.

If I could give zero stars I would without hesitation. Trust me do not waste your time stopping here! From the service to the food both were way below satisfactory! To start off we were a party of 7 and asked for a chair to be added to a table of 6. We were told no can’t do that sit somewhere else. They said more seating in the back they were very rude and not accommodating. My father who has trouble walking didn’t want to walk miles to get food. We just wanted to leave after being greeted like that we did not feel welcome. We talked to the manager he said we can get you a table close to the food and you can sit together, so we agreed to stay. We walk over to the table and nope not close to the food and not sitting together we had to sit at 2 different tables and couldn’t move the tables together. It was right by the walkway where everyone traveled to get food so our chairs got hit every time. By this time we were annoyed and just wanted to eat so we stayed and dealt with it. When we went up to the buffet dishes were empty and food looked less than appetizing. I get that is was a busy night during peak meal time, but they were severely understaffed. It took 25 minutes to bring pot roast out when my dad was told it would be right out… he was told this 3 times. It took just as long to carve turkey. We went to the manager again and he seemed like he could care less and said they are working on bringing the pot roast out to give it a minute he said he would have it brought over to the table. The manager didn’t even personally bring it over he had another worker drop it off and it was a small piece about the size of a half post it note. Every time the serves walked past our table they were saying things like those are the people who wanted to leave and complained. It happened multiple times and that should not have happened very unprofessional. When we asked what the General managers name was we were told they didn’t have one. We finally caught the manager again and asked if he was the gm he said no why. We asked to speak to the gm he said ill get you the card. He gave that to us and never once said i’m sorry this is not acceptable or offered us a free dinner for 1 of us. He offered nothing but a sarcastic attitude and no real care of what was going on. If this is who you have representing your location and the person in charge on a busy night during peak time you may want to reconsider! His attitude and the overseeing of the workers was terrible and he deserves to be fired/​go back to training but i wouldn’t waste your time or money to do that because he is a lost cause. I have been to other locations and was impressed with the way everything ran smooth, but because of this one experience my family and I have been turned off from this whole franchise and will not be back! It would be in your best interest as an owner or Gm to demolish this whole location because people would get more satisfaction seeing it gone than to actually spend money and eat here!

Haven’t ever been a huge fan of golden corral, but this was possibly the worst experience yet. Understaffed at peak meal time, took 25 minutes to get someone to even carve a piece of turkey. Staff was rude and unprofessional. Requests for seating and assistance were gone unfulfilled and ridiculed. Would never return and even more turned off to the entire franchise.

We were visiting and stopped in to eat since we had always heard golden coral was a great place. Staff was friendly. Food was okay for a buffet setting, but the bathrooms were beyond unsanitary. There was water all over the floor. Something all over the drain on the floor vomit/​overflow from toilet sediment. The stalls were very small and there was fecal matter sprayed all over the wall behind toliet. I immediately left I couldn’t eat an establishment that can’t keep a clean restroom. I fear what the kitchen would look like. I will never eat at a golden coral again no matter how much of a savings it is.

Food was awesome kids enjoy it great atmosphere only thing i hate when people watch what you eat since its a buffet guess that just people with nothing better to do while there with there spouse.

If there was a negative star rating that it would be. The place is nasty. We arrived an hour before closing there was next to nothing left. What was left was old and greasy. As we were getting our food the workers were cleaning the overhead vents above the food and you could see things falling into the food… Straight up yuck!

I use to go to golden corral a lot when I was a kid, I have been to a lot of buffets since I have been here last and I realized tonite I really miss this place. the food was good the service was fine and the wife was happy, I can’t ask for more than that at all. I wish we had golden corrals up in new england they would make a fortune up there.

The service is great staff gets 5 stars. The food was salty, there was nothing worth getting seconds. The Desserts was a different story very delicious! I gave two stars because I don’t intend to be a repeat customer.

Salty and busy are two words I could use to describe this place. The lines suck because you are always in them, whether it is to get in or get food. Salty describes the food quite well. I had biscuits off of the buffet and it tasted like they spilled salt in the dough used to make them. The service from the wait staff was pretty good but in general, I am not a fan.

You can always count on a golden corral buffet to feed you fast for a reasonable price. I went here with a group of 7 after a long day at the beach. The bar had just about everything you can think of, baked potatoes, grilled chicken, fried chicken, pizza, corn, broccoli, macaroni and cheese, fried fish, rolls, hand made ice cream. And much more.
Everything I had was good… And although I dont do buffets anymore to stay in shape, it was nice to experience it again.

As much as I would love to rip GC a new one for all the obvious reasons I must admit that this one is actually not too bad. First off I never realized how much people south of the Mason-​Dixon line love their GC because once you hit VA they are apparently everywhere. Up in PA we have a few but they are all well known hell holes for their food and especially their service or lack thereof.
We got in around seven the day after X-​Mas expecting the absolute worst but immediately were surprised by how friendly the staff was right from the get go up until the moment we left. Our server was all over any drink refills that we needed and dirty plates were gone in a flash.
As for the food, I mean it is GC so there are a lot of choices but some things are clearly questionable. The salad area was picked thru pretty hard with no sign of anyone attempting to refill things and the vaunted triple dessert fountain area was a wash in sticky goo that was being left to solidify.
But with the bad also comes the good. The grill with the new gimmick of steak everyday was actually acceptable. The cut was a bit sketchy but the guy cooking the meat knew his temperatures so things turned out OK.
The pasta, meatloaf, and fried seafood sides were good and the potato/​sweet potato bar was a hit. Add in a mountain of fruit, bread and dessert choices and you could do a lot worse at other AYCE places.
I’m not saying that the food here is «good» as it probably rates a half step over a hospital cafeteria, but if you pick the right things along with the excellent service you can leave here with a decent experience that will leave you satisfied/​not feeling ripped off.
