Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf

Clean with beautiful landscaping throughout. Typical pricing for mini golf with 2 courses to choose from. We chose the Blackbeard course, which we were told is more challenging. It was easy enough for our ten year old and fun for all of us.
Lots of benches and shady spots throughout with nice water features. Signs at each hole told the story of Blackbeard, which was fun to read and gave us something to discuss while playing.
Steps on the Blackbeard course would not be good for those with mobility issues. Unsure of how the other course was laid out.
At the end, you could choose to play another round for a discounted price of 6.95. If the weather had been a little cooler, we would have tried the second course. Fun photo ops throughout and there is a «cannon» in the water feature that scared us in a hilarious way.
As far as mini golf places go, this one was done right. Well maintained and actually fun to play.
Ample parking, friendly staff. Not a huge sign so a little easy to miss if you are just passing by. Drive down to Sno to Go afterwards for a snoball or some awesome soft serve.

I know! A harsh review but let me explain. We were there on a weekday, in the morning. No other putt putters were present. There were 7 of us adults, and 1 preschooler. We were approached by a man who claimed to be pirates cove security and groundskeeper. He literally yelled as us that we needed to separate our group into 2 parts. There was NO one else behind us or at the place. I was seathing. I asked to speak with the manager and she wasn’t there. Long story short we got to meet with her in the end. The offer for our trouble-​4 free games. You do the math. There were 7 of us. We will never return.

Whenever we are in Williamsburg we make it a point to visit here. It is the best minigolf for sure, why dont they expand to VA Beach???

This is clearly one of the more popular mini golf locations in the area. It was packed and that’s probably because it is a very nice place to play.
There are two 18 hole courses; Blackbeard’s Challenge and Captain’s Adventure. Each course is $ 9 or you can play both courses for $ 16 and save a couple of bucks. The courses are in very good condition and offer a decent challenge on most holes. Some of the holes are drenched in water so the ball rolls slowly, but it actually adds a little extra challenge if you ask me. Be careful as some of the holes had awkward walking areas where its easy to slip and fall.
The décor is very well done. They have lots of streams, waterfalls and even caves to play through. Some of the water spots have fish, which I thought was neat. There are pirates in different poses throughout the course which adds a cool touch to the theme. They even have pirate ships to take pictures next to.
The minimal interaction I had with the staff was pleasant.
My only complaint was that this place was jammed packed when we got there and it stayed busy the whole time. We had to wait for people on every single hole and people had to wait for us. I prefer to not be rushed, so this was a bummer. According to other players this is pretty standard during the summer season. The parking lot is pretty large so it wasn’t hard to find a space.
If you like mini golf and the place isn’t busy, stop on by and give it a try. You’ll have a good time, I’m sure.

Great place to play. Learn the story of Blackbeard while playing in one of the best landscaped and appointed mini golf courses. After you are finished, get placed in the stocks or take a picture with a pirate next to a the hull of a pirate ship.

What a great time I had golfing with my daughters! I recommend this course to everyone it was fun!

We went tonight (Sat night) and it was packed. We actually pulled in around 6pm and left because they were so busy. We came back at 9:15, and they were still busy. They have the option of an easy course, and hard one or you can do both courses to total 36 holes. We did the hard course and it was alot of fun. We had to wait a while between holes because of how many people there were. There is alot of water around, so all night balls were being hit in the water. There are fish in the water too, so be careful reaching in to grab your ball!
It took us 2 hours to complete 18 holes because of how many people were there! It was fun, but started to get bored with all the waiting.

Loved it here!!! We decided to play putt putt after a full day at Colonial Williamsburg and found this place. We chose the challenge course, because my son feels as though he is an expert putt putter. He isn’t. This was one of our favorite nights of our trip. It was a great course, fun to be on and very clean. The staff was super — friendly. I wish we had one just like it back home.

My folks love playing putt putt and so we set off on an adventure to find a place to play. Initially we were going to go to Catfish Cove, but it looked like putt putt for a kid — the length of their entire course being 2 car lengths, so we reversed and decided to do Pirate’s Cove instead… well worth it.
On the day we visited, we did not pay attention to the weather and thought that we could survive it. Parking was plenty — who in their right mind would putt on such a hot day — obviously we were not, but proceeded along anyways.
Options given were an easy course for $ 8.95 (Captain’s Course), a hard course for $ 8.95 (Blackbeard’s Challenge) or both for $ 15.50. We opted for the easy course and it was easy as we were getting our golf balls in the holes in just 2 or 3 shots. We had literally just started our game, but due to the severe heat, we had to come back when it was cooler. The weather had won in this case (Weather — 1; Us — 0).
When we continued our game later, we opted to do the harder course — this time we could breathe better in the weather even though the temps were still a little high. Hard it was… the game that is — there were hills and valleys, curves and rocks and even a waterfall for distraction, but this time, we enjoyed the game better in a much cooler and relaxing atmosphere. I have to give kudos to Pirates Cove in giving us the opportunity to come back and being able to survive (Weather — 0; Us — 1).

Killer mini golf course! Glad we stopped in. Was a little pricey but turned out to be well worth it. If we make it back I will definitely try the Captains course as we did Blackbeards. The staff were nice and the condition of the course was immaculate. Great place!!!

There are two courses to choose from, so my husband and I opted for the more difficult of the two. We had such a great time! Each hole tells the story of the infamous pirate Blackbeard, from his beginnings to his end, which I thought was exceptionally cool. I learned SO much! The course in it’s entirety is an awesome little adventure, and once it ends, you wish there were more than 18 holes! In the end I ended up winning by –4 on my hubby, so he demands a rematch. We will most certainly be back! :)

Probably the best course around. It’s challenging, it’s affordable and it’s fun. The layout and design are pretty cool. It’s great for a date night or to bring the kids. If it is crowded they have benches and little fun facts about Blackbeard between each hole to make the wait bearable. So shoot 18 holes and the go next door to DQ for a blizzard.

This is a classic putt-​putt spot. They had two «courses» that you could pick from. Seemed reasonably priced. We had a really good time. There were huge crowds, but it was Memorial Weekend. They had a juggler that won a prize for doing some Guiness Records, but I thought he was entertaining. My sons enjoyed themselves in a putt-​putt that was clean, well maintained and a good value. I would definitely go here to spend some quality time having fun with the family.

Personally, I’m a huge fan of animals at my mini-​golf course. They bring me luck. However, I was willing to gamble that the pirates might have some good booty. At around the 8^th hole of the harder course (there’s also an easier course), there was a downpour of rain. Thinking we could wait it out under a tree, mom and I decided to cut our losses after a few minutes. Looking like drowned rats I asked the clerk if he could give any considerations for being rained out. He offered us a raincheck, which the term before now had never seemed to accurate. I appreciate the consideration for the rain delay, and hope to come back and finish my game soon.

I’ve been to Pirates Cove several times. It’s never been so crowded that I had to wait, most people are friendly enough to let you play through if they have a large party or kids. They have two courses; both have stories to follow and great décor. There are some challenging holes no matter what course you choose and I’ve been guilty of landing my ball in the water more than once! Each course is $ 8.50 or you can do both courses for $ 15. If it’s really hot out they only let you do one course at a time but if you want to do both after the first round they let you continue at the discounted rate. I was thankful for this because one hot day I was ready to be done after one round! And you know what’s even better about summer days playing mini golf? There’s a Dairy Queen right next to it! Great for an outing with friends and family!

Sooo much fun!!! The staff is very nice and were even accommodating when we came very, very close to close! I love playing both Blackbeard and Captains — always clean and happy.

Lots of fun and very very clean. By far one of the best miniature golf places around. Two course options, friendly staff, excellent value. The décor is great, there are even real fish in the ponds instead of the typical blue toilet water you see at most mini golf places. Must go, great for the entire family!

I was in Williamsburg for vacation with some friends. I won’t say that this is the best mini-​golf place I’ve been to, but it’s definitely the best in the US that I’ve been to. The place is EXTREMELY clean. This based around the pirate Blackbeard and at each hole there is a plaque talking about him. There are two courses that you can choose, one is more difficult than the other. The courses are in great condition and there are even little pirate decorations all around. The course we took went through a cave, uphill, downhill, and over a pond. We had a good time and would definitely come back. The balls and the sticks were all in good condition and each course cost $ 7.50.

Quality mini-​golfing. They have two courses you can take — the hard or the easy. We of course opted for the «hard» which wasn’t really that difficult so I’m wondering how EASY the other one was.
My family is pretty competitive… so trust me when I say there was a lot of smack talk the whole way through. Mom was the only one to get a hole in one… but ultimately came in last. HAH! I hit my ball in the fountain. Of course.
Somehow, my dad won and my brother came in 2^nd. If you’ve been following — you’ll note that I came in 3^rd. I was not pleased.
Fun décor all throughout the course — definitely felt like you were among pirates — especially when we were standing near the lake area and cannons were «fired».
