I took the time to add this restaurant to Unilocal because it’s one of my favorites in Williamsburg. If you want a hamburger, they’re the best in town. The BBQ is better than the BBQ place just down the road that specializes in BBQ. I’ve had other stuff there, too, and it’s all good, but the hamburger and BBQ are very special. The staff are wonderful, and the atmosphere is particularly fun for hunting enthusiasts, decorated with bronze statues, pictures, mounts, and other related decorations. Very interesting and entertaining just to be there. A giant aquarium is in the middle of it all. If you’re in Williamsburg, check out this little out-of-the-way, friendly restaurant.

Great for the price. Ambience is fun, a little cheap, but fun with the kids. Food did not come out piping hot, but meats were seasoned well. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Overall very worthwhile stop on our road trip. Wouldn’t call it a destination find.

I don’t know what to think about this place. I enjoyed the food, found them to be priced well, and the servers were nice in personality, but somehow impossibly inept. The coffee machine was broken, the special they advertised and told us they had and half the party ordered was out of stock, causing everyone to reorder, and on and on. The main problem was that I ordered, and I quote, the salad and half sandwich special«with the chicken club,» assuming you could choose the sandwich like any normal restaurant. They brought me out a huge salad(which was good) and then a grilled cheese AND a club. Apparently the soup and sandwich special ONLY comes with a grilled cheese and no one told me that when I ordered and expected me to pay for both. However, they did take the charge off in the end but had me keep both sandwiches and the food was pretty good, so it’s not a wholly negative review. Honestly the food was really good for the price, despite cold fries. I ordered an alcoholic drink they never brought me, and I didn’t even push it to remind them. That would have been about as much as my meal so that was dumb of them, to be honest. The kitchen seemed entirely unequipped to handle our party of six at lunch time and were stressed out of their minds even though the restaurant was empty. Still, the good prices and decent food leaves me equivocal. I’d try again at dinner time with a smaller party, maybe. Despite the stress with the orders, $ 10 for the lunch special is unbeatable. Includes entrée, two vegetables, soup or salad, ice cream AND a drink — for $ 10!!! I can put up with weird service for that.

Plastic basket fried food that all tastes the same. It’s only real redeeming characteristic was its proximity to the conference we were attending. They really don’t seem to even try but rather rely on first timers for their revenue with little prospect for repeat business. It’s a shame. Had they been good, we would have eaten most of our meals there over the three day conference. Instead it was one and done.

We went here with our children, my sister, brother in law, niece and nephew. We were guests at great wolf lodge. Came here around 5:30pm on a Sunday evening and it was empty. Which meant the service, food and atmosphere was so perfect. I was a little nervous because of the emptiness, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the huntsman chicken, which is basically like chicken parm and it was delicious. The pasta, sauce and chicken were very fresh. My son had the kids hot dog which was just that. My husband had the BBQ chicken and potatoes and said it was good. My sister had the same thing and said the potatoes had a weird taste, but otherwise seemed to be good. I was also pleased with the prices. Very reasonable and very close to GWL. Also, our waitress was very very nice. Never had an empty glass or a dirty plate sitting around and she was very pleasant. Great experience and if we come back to GWL, well come here again also.

Beautiful atmosphere. Was worried it was too nice since we had our 2 and 3 year old with us. We had been staying at the Great Wolf Lodge and this was in walking distance. But the owner made us feel right at home. They brought us our food very quickly since the kids were antsy, they brought us food to munch on immediately to keep the kids happy. The taste was great, the prices were very reasonable. Three adult entrees, appetizers, salads, and two kids meals was only $ 75.00 We had enough food left over for lunch and snacks the next day. I would go back again in second. Wish they were closer to my house.

We arrived at 345 pm and were informed that the staff wouldn’t be able to serve us dinner until 430 pm, so we’re were forced to order off of the lunch menu. We were informed that there was only one cook in the kitchen and cooking dinner meals at lunch time is too hard. Needless to say, the lunch menu doesn’t offer much in the way of «Huntsmen» type food. Had to get the burger which wasn’t anything to write home about. Our server was friendly and that’s why this place gets two stars. She seemed two be the only person working. All the other servers and bartenders were just sitting around looking at their phones. I had high hopes for this place and they disappointed.

Only gave them 4 stars because staff was not the friendliest. Food was ok. Fast service. We were the only people there. U would think they would be happy someone was there

Giving it 4 stars compared to great wolf food but comparing to other restaurants would give 3. Updated review from dinner again last night. We always like there potato skins but they were out(how do you run out of potato skins?). But the pizza appetizer was delicious. The onion ring and fry bakers were also very good. Recommend the 56 oz hurricane if you come thirst. Bit very good. Not over sweet and a bargain. Everyone enjoyed their dinner again here. Place was very empty at about 8:30pm. Easy to get table for 9.

The atmosphere is definitely inviting, and it was great finding it across the parking lot from Great Wolf Lodge. The menu had some fun and interesting looking options, but many were quite concerning too. Example, Their homemade«Alfredo». I’m not sure why so many items required quotes, but it makes you start questioning the ingredients. The food was only okay, but the service was the biggest problem. First(and biggest) was that the kids meals were cooked last and sent out after the adults meals. Anyone who has ever shared a meal with 2 children under the age of 2 knows what a terrible idea this is. We tried staving them off with small snack items, but these kids were hungry and Cheerios weren’t cutting it anymore. Another big thing was my salmon. It was very raw, just barely warm in the center. I pointed it out to the manager when she came by and her response was«We cook all fish rare». Thanks but no thanks… After I had to ask(again) for it to be taken back, she brought a dish to have me put it on but was clearly not happy to do so. At this point our kids are done with dinner, cranky, and making a huge scene. So I forget the fish and we pack up to leave. Not once was it suggested for it to be taken off our bill or were desserts offered. With cranky 1 and 2, we wouldn’t have been able to stay without destroying everyone else’s experience, but it would have been nice for some sign of apology. I would suggest staying in the Lodge and eating at the many choices they already have, or keep driving…

Unilocal, you really let me down here. Based on the four star Unilocal review and the proximity to the Great Wolf Lodge, we gave this place a try. If you are looking to escape the burgers and pizza of great wolf, just keep driving. At best the food was average. Prices were outrageous with respect to quality of food. I’ll be going the extra few miles tonight to get something good … somewhere else.

Good food away from Wolf Lodge. Amazing family run business. Food was good, relatively inexpensive and a variety of choices. Some really cheap – kids meals, soups, salads.

We had hunters chicken with Alfredo which my husband devoured cleaning the plate! I had the pulled pork platter. Pork as smoked and pulled on site, seasoned and homage corn bread. We had homemade cheesecake!!! food is excellent and on par with Applebee’s entrees. Highly recommend!!!

Since our last trip to Great Wolf Lodge, this restaurant has turned from a Jungle Jim’s to now the Huntsman’s Grill, and it is a great step up. Gone is the cheesy décor and meh food and in its place is a sophisticated yet still friendly menu(the décor, well, they’re still working on that). If you’re at the Lodge and looking for an easy-to-get-to alternative from the overpriced and not-that-good in-resort dining options, walk across the parking lot to the Huntsman’s Grill.

The restaurant is across the parking lot from Great Wolf Lodge. 4 minute walk. TOTALLY worth it. A pitcher of very good beer is under $ 13. What, you need more than that?! We had the potato skins & onion rings to start and after a few hours of water slides they definitely hit the spot. My son had the BBQ pork sandwich… demolished. My daughter had the fish & chips… demolished. My wife had the mussels & salmon with linguini… stunningly good. I had the Mixed Grill: chicken, rabbit & boar with stoneground grits & caramelized apples. The rabbit was over, but the rest was OMG. The grits… I asked for the recipe. :-) The kids had a brownie sundae for dessert, my wife and I split another pitcher of Aleworks Red Ale. If you’re staying at Great Wolf do yourself a favor and walk across the parking lot for dinner. The staff were lovely, the food was great, the prices reasonable. Delighted we found this place on Unilocal

Staying at Great Wolf Lodge for a couple days, I chose to look into some of the establishments near here as dining options to the mostly-fast-food on-campus offerings. Huntsman’s Grill is literally across the parking lot and was Jungle Jim’s until roughly a year and a half ago. Some of the reviews here and on other sites were not favorable, but with the overall average at 3.5 stars and a menu with a number of attractive and tastily described dishes, we decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. The food was homemade and excellent, the service was prompt and personable, and the prices are VERY reasonable — a bargain, really. We started with the Potato Skins($ 8.00) and Fruit & Cheese Plate($ 10.00). The Skins were sliced thinly, providing a nicely sized, not-too-much portion — 8 of them — and topped with cheddar, sliced scallions, crumbled bacon, and sour cream on the side. The Fruit & Cheese Plate was beautifully presented and held an appetizing assortment of room temperature Brie, Blueberry Goat Cheese, and sliced Swiss, apple-grape compote, a bunch of grapes, ½-inch-thick chunks of pineapple, and delicately sliced Granny Smith, Red Delicious, and strawberries, accompanied by water crackers. We also tried the New England Clam Chowder. Obviously from scratch, the $ 3.00BOWLS — not cups — offered a rich, potato-based broth with generous chunks of potato, sliced celery, and strips of clam. Although it could have use a bit more clam and a bit less potato, it was warm, very tasty, and satisfying. While we enjoyed the chowder, her first course choice in The Huntsman’s Dinner Special was the Curried Tomato Soup. Not one for curry normally, she thoroughly enjoyed it, as the spice was noted but very subtle, and the tomato broth was tangy, rich, and creamy. The rest of the $ 15.00 three-course meal was an entrée of grilled bratwurst with caramelized onions and a dessert of vanilla ice cream with chocolate, caramel, or strawberry sauce. Two 6-oz. sausages were juicy and done very nicely and the onions were succulent and delicious. Two scoops, a healthy drizzle of chocolate, whipped cream, and a cherry finished the meal nicely. Two of us had the Fish & Chips($ 14.00). Hand beer-battered and fried to order and flaking nicely, there were 3 — 4 large pieces of Atlantic Cod on each plate, with ¼-thick rounds of crisply pan-fried potato, cole slaw, and tartar sauce on the side. Served with malt vinegar and ketchup, this disappeared quickly from the plates to my right and across the table. I had the Grilled Shrimp & Sea Scallops($ 22.00). The plate was six very meaty shrimp lightly sauced in butter and garlic, 6 — 7 seared sea scallops, smoked sun-dried tomato rice, steamed broccoli, and cocktail sauce on the side. The shrimp were delicious, the scallops tasty albeit a bit more firmly cooked than I preferred, and the rice had great flavor. All in all, we had a very nice time and, adding a welcome personal touch, one of the owners came to speak with us near the end of the meal, to check in on the quality of the food and our experience. As she thanked us for our patronage, we enthusiastically responded that we would return!

Stay away! There is nothing good here! Prices are too high for the service. Food is horrible! They have a great spot for the adults to escape too after spending the day with kids at great wolf lodge, but fail miserable! Should of been a sports bar with karaōke and an outdoor patio. Not some wannabe hunters bar. Stay away, stay away! Only good reviews have to come from the staff!

Staying at Great Wolf Lodge and decided to try this place for dinner. Kids menu was full of options, and my kids enjoyed the food. My wife had a burger and fries, I had the tuna and onion rings. Onion rings were the best item we had. I suggest you get them. Menu had a bunch of options, but was not overwhelming. Dinner specials sounded good, just didn’t have anything that sounded great. Our waiter Don was really nice and friendly. Service was great and we enjoyed the experience. I recommend stopping here during your stay at GWL. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was fun.

For a place that at one point during the meal was empty except for my family and the wait staff the service was sub-par. The drinks were empty for most of dinner and were refilled once, at the same time she took the dishes away. Our waitress however refilled her drink while she sat in the bar area doing nothing… Chatting with the bar tender. She didn’t tell us the specials until we had already had the menus for 5min and made our choices. The food was mediocre at best, this place could use a professional restaurant consultant to improve its image and its processes and training. I’m writing this as I look at my totaled check, wondering her she might be back with a pen so o can sign it, leave and forget this place is just 5 min from my house.
