A friend told me about this store and now I’m hooked. I love this store, I don’t always buy, but I always love to look. Everyone is ALWAYS super helpful, and nice. They always, always, always have neat stuff, that is ever changing. Don’t miss this sweet shop.

Confession: I’m addicted. I stop in here every week. I don’t always buy, but invariably find gems to admire. Have redecorated my home with VS lamps, rugs, art works, dishes, etc. Definitely warrants a stop – as often as you can fit it in because merchandise moves quickly.

I was on vacation in Colonial Williamsburg and heard about this consignment shop through Unilocal.So glad I stopped in. Such a great variety of cool home furnishings. I bought a framed vintage architectural poster and love it so much. The prices are really reasonable and the items are always changing. Wish I lived in the area so I could pop in here every week.

The Velvet Shoestring is my favorite shop in Williamsburg. They have some great furnishings at terrific prices. Whenever I am in Williamsburg I make sure to pop-​in and see what they’ve got. I always wind up leaving with something great. I have purchased many items from the Velvet Shoestring from paintings to a sofa they always sell quality merchandise that has been well cared for in its previous life. I have also consigned several items to the shop and I found the staff to be very friendly and fair with their consignos. If you are ever in the Colonial Williamsburg area I strongly recommend visiting the shop and see for yourself. I think that store is one of Williamsburg’s treasures!

Shocked to see Cindy’s review because my experience doing business with The Velvet Shoestring was entirely different. Extremely well versed staff, very knowledgeable, well mannered and pleasant. Always a fun shopping and consigning atmosphere. My settlements have always been precise and checks on time. Half the time I have forgotten I have money waiting for me & the girls are always happy to remind me. As for running a business, to me it looks as though it’s run like a well oiled machine. It’s a different store each time I go. Inventory MOVES! Love it!
