Crisp chicken is the best and good place for party. I love buffalo.

One of the few restaurants in the area which serves dim sum, we showed up and were pleasantly surprised at the food. Dim sum was made fresh — most of the other patrons were there for buffet. Service was haphazard — no setups, no water after asking a couple times. But good, freshly cooked dim sum dumplings(har gow, sui mai) and a very nicely done(if small serving) rice/beef noodle made for a very nice weekend brunch.

When I want chineease GOLDENDUCK is the go to spot. The hostess at the counter is always welcoming and friendly. Yes the food takes longer then 10 minutes sometimes but it’s good quality and quantity and always comes out hot! We’ve been going here for a long time now and it’s always fun to try a new dish with some of the things we always get. If you don’t know something to give a try just ask on the phone and they always give good suggestions! Dining in is always nice to it’s usually fast and friendly service but sometimes when it’s busy it takes a little longer which is fine because if your gonna go out some where to eat you should be able to take your time sit there and enjoy it! They also have banquet rooms for different size party’s that they make it so you have a great experience and time with the people you are with! If your going to spend money on chineease takeout Golden Duck is the way to go!

As a fan of American Chinese food I am always looking for a place to satisfy my lo mein cravings. This place did the deed and then so. A whole bunch of us shared dinner here. We were seated in a wonderful back room at a large round table with a huge lazy susan in the middle… perfect for conversation and food sharing. We ordered a multitude of dishes… veggie lo mein, chicken lo mein, veggie fried rice, sesame chicken, szechuan chicken, beef with broccoli… you know… all of the American favorites. Everything was delicious. The service was great. The crunchy noodles tasted like they were made in-house. And, fortune cookies and fresh orange wedges were brought after our meal. I’ll definitely be back!

Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we get our tree and then go out for Chinese food. Since making the transition from average sized family to large to extra large family, we have to choose our family dinner outings carefully. Chinese food seems to be a good choice, mainly due to the kid friendly, deliciously bland, sticky rice. As noted in other reviews, this place was clean, but empty on a Saturday night. Our waitress was friendly, and quick with refills on Chinese noodles(though not on Shirley Temples, because that costs extra and we blew the budget on the tree.) Another waitress was having a lengthy discussion as to whether another patron had onion in his food, even though he had ordered specifically without. She said no. He said yes. This went on longer than it needed to. The food looked better than your standard Chinese take-out and the serving sizes were quite large. However, the taste did not elevate itself to match its appearance. We ordered 3 entrees(orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken and crispy scallops), 2 egg rolls and 2 won ton soups, and our bill was $ 80(with tip.) Maybe it was the a fore mentioned Shirley Temples that put it over the top. Either way, I felt like I could have had the same level of quality for half as much from any take-out place. Maybe we ordered incorrectly, as the raves in some of the other reviews don’t match our experience. The Mongolian buffet sounds intriguing, and I would be willing to return to try it out.

Hands down, this is the BEST Chinese food in Buffalo/WNY. Ever since I moved to this area, I have been ordering take out from Golden Duck, or occasionally going for sit down service. It may not be the prettiest restaurant, but it’s the food that counts. They have two menus, the American one, and the traditional one. Everything is pretty darn delicious — from the Dim Sum on Sunday’s to the standard ‘American-Chinese’ fare. Pork buns, pickled cabbage, my person’s fave of sesame chicken, and my favorite hot and sour soup(it is the best I’ve ever had). Do yourself a favor and give them a shot. You can thank me later. Oh, and on a side note, they are the only Chinese restaurant I have come across in WNY that has fresh mustard. Simply ask for the ‘house mustard’ on the side if you like a little kick.

Good service. Hot tea with dinner is nice touch. Noodles in pan fried noodles were undercooked, but good flavor with the pork

Good amount of food. We always love the beef noodles from there and the duck egg congee. But my throat always tickle and uncomfortable after i had their food for couple days. I am extremely sensitive to cooking oil, i felt like it’s their oil caused me that. That’s why i don’t order it from them no more.

1. I have empathy for any Asian serving Americanized cuisine. 2. That being said, you pretty much know what you’re getting into opening a restaurant here. 3. Maybe the worst food of any style I’ve ever had in WNY. Extremely, I mean EXTREMELY bland. I ordered the standards, wonton soup had THREE wontons in the quart, swimming in yellow water. sweet & sour shrimp, tough tiny things in barely cooked heavy batter, the sauce was slightly more viscous than water. Lo mein & fried rice, I think I could have bought something better at Walmart if they served Chinese food. It’s williamsville so people would be happy with La Choy off the shelf at Tops. Better off going to Wegman’s or May Jen. I’m not sure who should be more embarrassed, the owners or patrons.

Reading though the reviews, I don’t understand people’s problems with the service here. My friends and I arrived and were seated immediately. We were served tea right away… and our order taken in a timely manner. Between the three of us, we had Fried Dumplings, Chicken Fried Rice, Beef with Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and white rice. Everything was delicious! The fried dumplings were tasty! The sweet and sour chicken was good, juicy, not über fried… where you find at some places. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and I couldn’t get enough… I love broccoli and can be picky about it. Each dish was more than enough, we all had left overs. I would come back again. I only gave it three stars because the items we had were pretty standard(although good!) and I would like to go back and try some different things. Fully intend on updating my review in the near future. As far a food, service, and the restaurant go… the place was clean, the staff friendly and efficient, and good food.

Nice sit down Chinese with white tablecloths, tea on the house and fried wonton strips. Shrimp wonton soup is awesome and a meal by itself. Everything is good. Try the Mongolian BBQ on Saturday afternoon for something different. Includes some interesing apps/buffet items along with the standard Mongolian BBQ options and priced well.

Really enjoyable place. Wife and I got hungry after doing laundry a few doors down and decided to try this place. Wasnt to crowded for a sunday afternoon. Had a nice booth and ordered scallion panacake and veggie lo mein. The pancake was wonderful and the lo mein was great. Most of all loved the service here. Makes it much better dining experience when the servers arent trying to rush you out. Will be back agian. Good food and fair prices cant beat that

On the weekends, from 12 – 3 the Golden Duck has a Mongolian Buffet brunch. It includes not only the ability to make your own delicious stir fry or giant bowl of soup but also sticky rice, fried pork, braised pork in soy sauce, pickled Napa cabbage, congee, duck and a few more really tasty options besides the Mongolian Buffet. They also offer dim sum on a separate menu with the usual fare, turnip cakes, pork buns etc… My SO and I have been brunching here every other weekend for three or four years. It is a solid but unusual brunch. Eat the fried pork.

What disappoints me most is when you order a chicken dish from a Chinese restaurant and its dry, over cooked, over sauced, all gristle and fatty. This place is NOT that. The chicken was lightly fried, and each piece was plump and juicy. Everything was well seasoned with just the right amount of sauce. I cannot tell you how much this tiny place surprised me. The shrimp fired rice was excellent. The broccoli was crisp. Not to mention the drink called Zombie was just what the doctor ordered. Highly recommended!

Great place for delicate traditional Chinese far. The flavors are very authentic in the opinion of one of my professors in college who travels to China regularly. It tasted delicious to me and flavorful without being super rich and heavy. The place is not that large but can accommodate most parties. The food is delicious and sharing is a must in order to maximize your choices and get the most from your dining experience.

We went, we ate, and I loved it! Here’s what we ordered(we did the Saturday dim sum): – Turnip cakes – Potstickers – Spicy beef noodle soup – Pork buns – Sesame balls with red bean paste The place was a bit shabby, potstickers came out lukewarm, and the beef noodle soup wasn’t actually spicy. But everything else was piping hot and tasty. The best thing was that it was not super-salty, sweet or greasy, the way a lot of Chinese restaurant food is. There are no dim sum carts — they just bring your order out to your table. It did take a few minutes(10, 15?) to get our food, but that was a plus for me because it made me feel like they didn’t just pop something in the microwave. The waitress(good service) suggested getting the beef chow fun next time we return. I will definitely be back!

Pretty mediocre. The dim sum is really just a buffet of stuff you throw together, bring to a window, and then someone in the kitchen cooks it up for you. I guess if you know how to put together some delicious flavors, that would be ok. But I was pretty much at a loss. The buffet includes some raw meat just sitting out there, which is disgusting.

Here we go again with another place where people have no clue they are being duped. Choices this weekend were Eastern Pearl or Golden Duck, a more out of the way place. My partner wanted a good Asian duck dish, and I’m not into duck, so we opted for the Golden duck. Never been here before. Upon entering for an early dinner on a Saturday, the place was empty. Was thinking maybe not a good sign, But the interior looked good for a sit-down Chinese restaurant. Got table, was served some over-fried greasy fried noodles with duck sauce for dipping. Was pleasantly surprised to be offered the more«traditional» Chinese menu as well, like Wok and Roll has. Everything on the normal menu looked like a mash up between Red Pepper, Wok and Roll, and Gin Gin. Partner HAD to have some sort of duck, we chose a dish for«two» — shredded duck with bean sprouts, beef with scallions, and orange chicken. Also with sa-cha beef and an order of Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. Sa-cha came first — was ok, nothing to brag about. Can’t get a good sa-cha from a regular Chinese take out so was just happy to get it here. The other dishes… well, hmmm. The Chinese broccoli was pretty much just steamed with a small squirt of barely flavorful oyster sauce with too much shredded ginger on top. The dish for«two»? So not worth it. The so-called shredded duck was nothing but minuscule bits and pieces of the waste part of the bird, cooked with bean sprouts to a complete watery mush. Who cooks bean sprouts to all hell? Apparently this place. The beef and scallions probably had a good entire three whole bunches of the green tips of scallion — but where’s the beef? WAY too much onion there. Orange chicken: soggy batter fried chicken with non-descript orange sauce. People started coming in for dinner. I was listening to what they were ordering. Funny how people who really don’t know better think they are getting some wicked Asian delicacies here… LOL You’re gonna pay more for the sit-down experience. NOTWORTHIT. This is just typical, nothing to brag about Chinese food. Just do yourself a favor and go to your local corner take out and get the same crap for less. Maybe the specialty crispy duck dinner will be worth it but I’m not going back to find out.

It’s a shame that this place isn’t busy, but you probably wouldn’t get your food anytime soon if it was. That being said the food is delicious! I had a great plate of chicken and broccoli and my buddy ordered scrumptious sesame chicken and beef fried rice. This was all after an order of fried dumplings, which were great because they were pan fried. And plenty of leftovers! I’ll be back for more… And I will be patient. It’s worth the wait, and our server was very nice.

On weekends they have a dim sum buffet kind of thing. It’s nice because you can pretty much make your own«mongolian bbq» style noodles or go soup based. The chicken is pretty dope but I like the noodles. Other dishes are pretty good. Not the best in town but good enough to stop by every once in awhile.
