I went into this Radioshack yesterday to get a wall charger for my phone. I own a Casio Boulder. Sure it’s an 8 year old flip phone or as it is called now dumb phone, but hey it can take a beating and does everything I need it to, «Talk to my folks, send pix to my mates, text women of interest, etc.» I have also mad the conscious choice to not buy a smart phone for as long as is possible. However, wall chargers are hard to come by for old flip phones, so component shops like Radioshack are the only places really left that you can purchase such items for«outdated» technology. Now that I have prefaced this, when I walked I was asked if I needed assistance. I pulled out my phone and said I needed a charger. The person employee instead of showing me to the chargers said, «That phone is pretty old, I suggest you just get a new one. We got some great ones here on sale» Two words, RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Then two other employees come out, and he proceeds to make wise cracks with them about the phone and one of the two joins in and also encourages to upgrading to the«New Technological Age». Finally, the other was nice enough to help me find the product I required all while asking me erroneous questions about the make, my service provider, etc. Um okay, I really just needed a phone charger, but that’s cool I guess as long as you’re not trying to unnecessarily sell me anything. I know that now that you are connected with Sprint, phone sales are a major portion of your business, but you shouldn’t be killing potential sales no matter how small with unprofessional behavior. Never will return to this location again will either find another or order online where though I am not supporting a local franchise an individual at least I don’t get treated like crap for my personal intelligent choices in technology.

Wish I could give this place no stars! Sales associates and manager are liars and cheat you out of money. Bought a phone from them Dec 24, they were suppose to credit the activation fee on my bill. January’s bill comes and guess fee is still on the bill! Have been trying to reach Nicole the so called manager for 3 weeks. Finally get in touch with her and still nothing. Just called to speak to her again and it’s oh the manager isn’t in tonight. OK well what the phuck is she managing because every time I call she’s «not there.» extremely pissed and will definitely be calling corporate!

I always wonder how Radio Shack stays in business. After all– every time I venture into one– I am always the only person in the store and I spend only about $ 10 to buy a battery or memory card. The location of this store was a total lucky find for me. I was at Binny’s next door when a friend called and was lamenting the lack of a memory card for his camera. Since I was going to be seeing him later– I said I would pick it up. I walked into this location and found myself in an empty store. No sales people, no customers. And this on a Friday. But the chimes on the entry door signaled my arrival and suddenly two sales people appeared from a back room. The service was friendly and quick. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. My only issue?- What I wanted was locked in place on the display rack. Which meant without sales help to unlock the thing– I couldn’t touch or turn over the card to make sure it was the one my friend wanted. I can get the same card at Best Buy without the lock down procedure, so I was a little put off when I realized almost everything in this store was locked up. Urrgh! Not my favorite store to shop– probably because I have no idea what most of the gadgets and gizmos do in this place. But more likely because I am all about«easy» experiences, and the«lock and key» approach challenges that for me every time!
