i went to gourmet in a day in order to convince my boyfriend that i am indeed capable of doing things related to food and kitchens(besides slicing cheese and pouring wine). it was a pretty good experience. the idea is that you make a reservation online, pick the meals you want to make, and go in and«make» them. by make them, i mean you put all the ingredients in bags, and then you freeze the meals once you get home and make them at your leisure. so far we have made governor woo’s chicken, black bean and ham soup, parmesan crusted chicken, and fajita burritos. three out of four were above average, if not really good for a homemade meal taken right out of the freezer. what makes this a three star review is that i now feel a little bit more comfortable in the kitchen after making each meal. it’s also a great concept in terms of helping people out who have little time to make homemade food for their families, etc. i also think that the prices are reasonable — it cost us $ 140 dollars for 12 meals(we chose 6 meals and divided each recipe in 2, as all the recipes are meant for 4 servings). i’d recommend you give this place a try if you are looking to eat at home more often. it’s also a great gift idea for new couples, moms, etc!
