WORST customer service ever!!! I just tried to book a catering order and Haleigh answering the phone actually hung up on me!!! Does that happen? After calling three times today to try to get a hold of the catering manager who was not in, she put me on hold for 20 minutes on the 4th try. Frustrated, I hung up and called back only to be told the catering manager who I was told was finally in, was actually off-site. There were no managers available at all at the restaurant to speak to and when I politely expressed my frustration, she hung up on me. I find this absolutely deplorable and sad for the owner who just lost out on a large amount of money that I was about to spend with them. Do NOT waste your time with Casey’s to cater. Order from one of the other great BBQ places in Wilmington who are nice to their customers.

Such good food. I can absolutely see why this was named Best Buffet for 2015! The very best Southern Soul food Ive ever had in my entire life. It is just yummy! ALSOBESTSWEETTEA! Great Eastern Carolina BBQ, great fried chicken, fresh fried whole catfish. Wonderful cold slaw and fries with hush puppies for your sides. Maybe 9 or 10 different veggies and other sides. They also had several other meats likes clams and hamburger steak and other baked and BBQ chicken buffalo wings and ANDFATBACK, Too many to remember it all. ‘Smiles! They have an entire buffet bar just for the deserts! The banana pudding was better then Ive ever had. They also had peach cobbler and apple cobbler which Ill have to try next time. There were several different cakes also. I think the southern sweet tea had to be my favorite thing served to me! Incredible, but beware its SWEET! LOL The only reason I couldn’t give this wonderful restaurant 5 starts(and I feel so bad not being able to) is the layout of the restaurant. I ate inside with my Dear friends once and then just yesterday(3-5-2016) I visited for a takeout dinner for two for my boyfriend and myself as he was working very later. It was so hard to navigate! The buffet itself is wedged into a back corner which causes some congestion where a long line forms stretching through the dining room. A minor inconvenience, and the line moves quickly, but I really felt like I was in everybody’s way trying to juggle both out plates at once. It would have nice to help from the wait staff, but they were way too busy running around to even notice. I do know they have a ToGo menu where they will box family size portions up for you, but its hard if you want a couple plates that you fix yourself. Maybe get a few trays to help with carrying several plates at once, if you want to fix your own to go plates, if your particular eaters like my Boyfriend and I are? The waitress that helped get my tea and boyfriends fried catfish was named Tam(maybe short for Tamara or Tammy sorry didn’t ask) and she was AMAZING! She was so happy to help and genuinely seemed to care I was happy and invited me back personally, She even gave me a tip, to come during lunch on Wednesday when the line is the shortest in her opinion. This was really inexpensive good Olé Soul food like your Grandma cooked of you when you were growing up here in Carolina… If your Grandma loved you a lot and was a great cook that is!!! Keep up the good work folks and move to a bigger restaurant soon/place! You’ll fill it up don’t worry! Ha ha!

One of the most disgusting, filthy, dirty places I have ever eaten! Food is soaked in grease or butter — overlooked or burned. Staff is loud & plays around instead of cleaning like they should be doing. Needs updating!

I have been to caseys with my wife about 10 times the food is amazing it’s everything you hope great southern food will be! It’s Also A Great Value It’s Not pricey at all about 12 dollars a person with a drink. I think the best thing about caseys though is the staff we have had the same waitress most of the time her name is tam she is so friendly and nice and warm it’s like having a meal at your sisters house or your mom’s she is so great as is everyone who works there! If you have never been there it’s a must try!

I’ve been to Casey’s twice now. The food was better first visit, but I came at an odd hour on my second visit so I believe the food was sitting longer my second time, didn’t have time to sit on my first visit it was packed. The food is terrific, although I wish the buffet was larger and had a bit more of a selection. The dining room I was in was small and cramped, and there is cheap furniture which give the restaurant a poor first impression. This restaurant is NOT however well suited for diabetics who are insulin dependent. everything is fatty or fried. As much as I wanted to I wouldn’t bring my mother to this restaurant due to her diabetes. I love it however. I just believe they should add a soup and salad bar, and have some other healthy choices available, and they need a remodel to feel more cozy and less like an afterthought.

Food like mama use to cook, what else can I say. Home cooked food in a home style environment with a very fair price.

I am not one for buffets, but I’ll make an exception for Casey’s. Everything was delicious. No complaints here.

Real deal southern food at its finest! If you want authentic southern cuisine this is the place to go — comes with construction workers and rednecks at all times and that’s part of its authentic charm. I can only eat here about once a year because I usually need to lay my chair back in the car on my way home but it’s worth every bite! Especially love the fried okra and blueberry cobbler.

I’ve traveled clear across town to eat at Casey’s four times in the last two months, so that should give you an idea of how good their food is! They have a fantastic variety of Southern veggies(just like Mom used to make), DELICIOUS pulled pork BBQ, and even have cracklins and chitlins on the buffet. YUM! Service is always spot-on and the price is fantastic, considering the sheer multitude of artery-clogging ambrosia available. If you love Southern food, do yourself a favor — put on your stretchy-waistband pants and go here!

When I was on vacation down in Wilmington, NC this summer numerous locals suggested that we stop into Casey’s Buffet and BBQ. The short version was that it was darn good. You definitely need to bring your stretchy pants when you visit this place! The amount of food and selection is pretty ridiculous. Thank goodness I was eating meat back when I visited this place. The BBQ was great, but also there so many sides. Everything was really good. And if I’m honest, that’s not really an adjective I normally associate with a buffet, but Casey’s is pretty amazing. And call it Southern Hospitality or call it «Frank’s just used to rude people», but the staff was so nice. It felt more like being over at a friend’s house than being a customer. Every aspect of this meal was enjoyable, except that I should have starved myself before I went so I could have enjoyed it more. The next time we’re in Wilmington I’m going to starve myself and wear stretchy pants before bringing the whole family back to Casey’s Buffet and BBQ!

Went to caseys for Sunday night dinner while visiting a friend. It was busy but no lines for the food. The pulled pork was perfect, choices of sides(mac n cheese, greens, potatoes) were amazing and the blueberry cobbler is my favorite dessert there! I wish we had something like Casey’s in NYC!

Delicious Southern comfort food… not a place for dieters. Everything is great from sides, to mains, to deserts. Don’t pass the chicken pastry. This place is not only an icon but a must for out of towners.

I hear so many great things about this place and sitting outside waiting to be seated people were talking about how great the food was and it being like grandmas cooking. That made even more excited and I was ready to finally try the food. I got seated and walking in it wasn’t what I was expecting at all but the food matched the surroundings and it made me understand it a little more. The food was basically southern food. Fried chicken, mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, collards everything. The food was so good and I will surely go again. I didn’t get to try the dessert but next time I will for sure try it. If you go here expect to wait but it’s all worth it once you try the food.

Food here is awesome. Good atmosphere, southern style food and feel. Great staff as well, very personable. Highly recommend filet catfish, potatoes and gravy, and seafood cakes for your main foods but make sure you save room for dessert. Homemade banana pudding was my personal favorite but there’s also very good bread pudding and brownies. Many things to meet your needs. Overall I really recommend giving this place a try, it’s sure to please if you’re in the mood for some good ol’(fried most likely) southern food. I’ve had a hard time finding a gem like this place and left very pleased

This was the best darn BBQ I’ve had in a long time. Although there isn’t a huge selection, like what you’d expect from a big chain buffet type place, everything you’d want when you think«BBQ» is there and it’s all the best you’re going to taste. Even the sides were phenomenal. If you’re going here, just make sure you save some room on your plate for the Pulled Pork at the end of the buffet. It’s easy to fill up on other things before getting to the end of the line for this treat, but it’s absolutely worth it. And you can always go back and get the other stuff later :) The service was wonderful, and our waitress was really friends and sweet. She kept our drinks full, made polite conversation, and surprised us with some of their funny hats when we made a joke about them. Couldn’t have had a better experience in that regard. The only reason I’m taking off a star is because of the layout. The buffet itself is wedged into a back corner which causes some congestions where a long line forms stretching through the dining room. A minor inconvenience, and the line moves quickly, but I really think there’s a better way it could have been organized. Overall, if you’re looking to eat a ton of some of the best BBQ around at a cheap price, you can’t go wrong with Casey’s.

I found myself back in olé Wilmington North cac-uh-lakey this Memorial Day weekend(paying my respects military style) and I took the opportunity to grab a bite at Casey’s buffet. It was only my second time dinning there, and I must say, the food did not disappoint. The setting it self left a little to be desired, however what the structure lacked the food MORE than compensated for. I was there with a party of ten and after a fifteen minute wait we were all belly up to the buffet. The food was hot, plentiful, ANDEXACTLY what you would expect from a joint that labels itself barbecue and home cooking. The food ran the gamut from finger licking good fried chicken to catfish, shrimp and a pigs feet everyday. The desserts were also on point. Dinner started at 1620(that’s 4:20 pm for you indoctrinated) and I did not roll out until 1830(you do the math). The prices are extremely reasonable 11.99 for adults and like 6.00 bucks for kiddos. If you find your self in Wilmington and get hit with a hankering for home cooking. Let you feet take you to Casey’s and try some of the pigs feet. Casey’s I salute you and I hope to see you soon… real soon

Chain all-you-can-eat restaurants mostly suck. Because corporate rules state that your Golden Corral can’t vary its formula from one location to another, they’re forced into a lowest-common-denominator approach by which everything has to be bland enough to appeal equally to everyone, regardless of who they are and where they come from. Wilmington has a uniquely Southern remedy for this national problem in Casey’s Buffet. Casey’s is decorated like your mother or grandmother’s house, assuming that she shopped at Cracker Barrel and Johnny Rocket’s garage sales a lot. Sliding into ‘50s-diner pleather seats, one is immediately taken aback by the shameless kitsch on the wood-panel walls, like ceramic pigs enclosed in chicken-wire-covered display cases. The employees wear paper soda jerk hats. This ought to make you feel sorry for them, but everyone, from the staff to the after-church Sunday crowd that packs the place, honestly seems to be having fun, so it doesn’t. No alcohol here, so a cup of coffee or the locally renowned sweet tea will wash down the 4,500 calories to come. Casey’s selection – straight buffet or carry-out, so no menus here – is smaller than most chains, but that just means that nothing sits long and that they avoid selling things that aren’t up to par. Grabbing one of the day-glow-hued plastic dining plates, one greets a buffet stocked with everything your cardiologist ever worried about: steaming, savory Brunswick stew swimming in chicken fat, crispy pork chitterlings, pig’s feet and deep-fried whiting, to name a few. To be fair, one can put together a nice vegetable medley, although no one ought to come to Casey’s looking to diet. Those wanting to dilute the butter a bit can season the fresh, tender collards, golden-roasted corn, firm, fluffy white rice or yummy black-eyed peas with any of the three hot sauces available at the table. Texas Pete brought out the best in the veggies. Main course recommendations are the perfectly crisp-yet-tender seafood cakes and what appeared to be fried catfish nuggets, both with a little of the house hot-pepper vinegar to spice up the breading. Nothing was a letdown: when’s the last time you said that at the chain buffet? The desserts vary by day, and perhaps this was an off one: the apricot crumble while not bad, wasn’t up to the standards of the rest of the meal. An occasional online review points out that there’s nothing at Casey’s that you couldn’t make at home provided that you had a deep fryer, but that hardly seems an appropriate knock. It’s unlikely that anyone would cook 35 different Southern foods in his or her kitchen and get nearly all of them exactly right. If three plates of soul food are what you’re looking for, there’s no reason to go anyplace else.
