Was driving home today passed this place and decided to take a chance on a blind lunch stop. The first thing I noticed from the road was the really cool vintage marquee sign. That’s what caught my eye in the first place. Parking was a little tight but I managed to get a spot. The wait to get to the register didn’t take too long and the cashier was really friendly and polite. I ordered a pulled pork platter(about $ 11) and a pulled pork sandwich(about $ 10). Both came with two sides and the platter came with cornbread(which tasted amazing). I placed my order to go and waited about 5 – 7 minutes at the bar. While I was waiting I looked around at all the decorations, which were rustic and vintage. The lights at the bar were old glass milk jugs with vintage Edison style bulbs in them. I have a lot of respect for neat and tidy lighting when it comes to wiring and noticed all the wiring was tucked in really nice. The ceiling is painted black which really helped make the lights stand out more. The lighting at the tables on the floor were old baskets hanging upside down. Another nice touch. There was also nice canned lights throughout as well. The wood floors and tables were beautiful. The only problem I had with the bar was that the bar stools were really high. I’m 5 ft 6 and my feet were dangling which wasn’t that comfortable. Once my food was ready I checked everything and was really impressed with the way it was all presented. Unlike places that serve you platters with everything running together, everything was in it’s own individual container which also makes it nice for saving as leftovers. All-in-all, I was extremely happy with my experience at Moe’s Original Bar B Que. They’ve earned a repeat consumer for sure!

Went with some coworkers today. I haven’t been to this place since it was Flip’s BBQ. That was a ½ star eatery at best. So needless to say I was skeptical. Well thank you Moe’s for flipping this place upside down. I had the BBQ sandwich with Mac and Cheese and Black Forest yum yum for desert. The sandwich had a HEAPING pile of wonderful BBQ on it. The BBQ was moist enough that the bun was starting to sog, but not too much that you could feel it with your fingers. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of sauce before you head to the table. It is worth it. The sides were good but not great. The Mac n Cheese could have been better, but it was just warm and not hot. The desert had good flavor too. If it weren’t for the amount of BBQ on the bun I would say it is definitely over priced. I will be heading back again to try their other offerings.

Not really that original. One word– meh. Food okay– tried pulled pork, chicken & catfish; unmemorable. Sides– small & typical. Interior– generic ‘modern roadhouse’(barn wood, little steel, Edison bulbs), good selection of beers, however. Another in the line of average, uninspired BBQ franchises here; smokey bones, mission, BB-cutie, sticky fingers, etc, etc…

Enjoy the BBQ and beer vibes. I do wish the menu was a bit more affordable, but I love the menu at the same time! Wonderful daily side changes! Try the Alabama white sauce on the smoked wings!

Moe’s BBQ today for lunch. Food was a 4 could have been a little warmer on the sides. Atmosphere was a 3, clean but very loud and I found myself in the mosh pit of condiment area/refills/picking up orders. Service was friendly but stretched very thin. There was only one order point which lined right out the front door. When they called your name for your order you could barely hear. If they could figure out that bottle neck by carrying food to the tables with markers and take orders through the line it would make a tremendous difference because the kitchen was not stressed because of one order at a time. We will be back, I just hate seeing customers walk in and walk out because of the line.

Well I have managed to find time to get take out from here twice in one week if that says anything. My first experience was Friday night movie night with my bff. She picked it up for the both of us after sitting at the bar for a couple hours watching people eat. Dinner was a rib platter and half chicken with the slaw, skillet corn, collards and mac and cheese for sides. I had no choices in what in was ordered and it was perfect. My friend insisted the food was best served hot but really only the corn bread needs to be served fresh. I dropped by late Sunday to pick up dinner and instantly ordered the smoked turkey without really reading the menu. None of the sides were the same so I got succotash and broccoli casserole. The succotash was a lot more mash than I was use to but tasted wonderful and the flavor of the smoked turkey left me craving more. I love how they package the to go with extra bbq sauce but the meats here are so juicy and flavorful you don’t really need it. The bartender mad the mistake of telling me the best thing here is the turkey wings after I ordered. Now I can’t stop thinking about them… Anyone want to join me soon for turkey wings? This would be a fun place to watch a game!

Me and my wife took some friends visiting from out of town to moes last night none of us had ever been here. It was great especially the ribs! They were some of the best I have ever had and not too expensive either. The service was excellent as well everyone was very friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Like good bar-b-que? Go no further than Moe’s! Not only do they have wonderful bar-b-que, their wings are simply mouth watering. But my favorite is the Brunswick Stew, my oh my, the best you will ever be served. You can’t go wrong dining here, just make sure you wear your stretchy pants.

Moes was great! Great staff and atmosphere. Corn bread is off the charts, not mention that magic white sauce. I will definitely be back. Mahi is delicious and Bbq and pickle combo is to die for. If you haven’t, check this place out ASAP. Oh and the Oreo pudding to pretty good too.

Let me start by saying I am not usually picky and easy to satisfy but this place is a rip off. Do not order the fried shrimp you will get seven tiny shrimp and leave still hungry. Their cornbread is good. The mac and cheese is ok. It seems to me that they spent so much money designing the interior of the building and renovating that they have to price gouge mediocre food to keep the place financially a float. The cashier was rude as well. Not a good feeling paying almost $ 30 for two people to eat and not even having a full stomach or satisfied pallet to show for it in the end. Be smart with your money and go elsewhere.

My quest for excellent BBQ in Wilmington continues. This new place was a health rating of 92.5, which I noticed after ordering. I would’ve had second thoughts if I had seen it first. The restaurant looked clean and has a homey feel. The staff is young and has no idea of how to welcome guests. BBQ starts with the meat. It should be smoked to pink with natural juices slowly seeping out. It’s the smoky taste your looking for, not sauces and not a marinade. Moe’s pulled pork looks smoked but the flavor is buried by the vinegar it’s soaked in. The only sauce is pepper vinegar, kept warm at the perfect temp to bred microbes. The chicken isn’t much better, with a mayo sauce and dill pickles to overwhelm any smoking. Mayo and pickles on BBQ? Incongruent, which is pretty much the flavors at Moe’s, which were the taste equivalent of stripes and polka dots. That aside, the baked beans were very good to excellent. They are the best thing on the menu. The banana pudding has no banana, and the chips come in a bag. You get two sides and ¼ lb of meat for $ 11. Pretty steep for the price and not something I’ll try again. So the quest goes on.

Absolutely great food and wait staff. I’m from a family of seafood eaters and although Moe’s is a BBQ restaurant their fried shrimp is amazing. It tastes like my grandmother’s fried shrimp. The BBqis good, please write home to mom about the wings. Cooked to perfection. The sides are also above average fora restaurant. My favorite were the Baked Beans yum. The special of Brunswick Stew made me order two. Yum!
