El Metapaneco

This place was so bad. I would put 0 stars but I cant. Me and my mom went and I didn’t order but my mom did. We waited almost 2 hours and the service was bad. They all seemed annoyed and irritated when they were at the cashier. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE THEY ARE RUDE AND THEY TAKE FOREVER!!!

Food here is amazing (at least what I’ve tried so far). Got the mixed pupusas and a chicken and cream entrée both were on point! Everything is pretty cheap too. Will definitely be coming back!
Be prepared for a long wait tho, but it’s worth it imo.

I love pupusas — but not these. Maybe because I had to wait 45 minute for mine. They were freshly made and good. Not great. I was irritated that I was in this very empty restaurant around 11am, during the week and it took 45 minutes for 2 pupusas. The waitress didn’t tell me ahead of time about the wait and never came to my table during my wait to apologize for this wait. I was furious. I will not be going back.

I brought my mom for Mother’s Day brunch yesterday and it was our second time here since about a year ago. I came in thinking our service was going to be bad but it was actually okay. I felt bad for the waiter because it was only one man cleaning tables and also serving. Later on, two ladies came out but I felt like they still needed to be more attentive. Anyways, when you walk in you seat yourself and then you get your menus. All of our food was GREAT. We ordered the huevos rancheros breakfast, pupusas revueltas, tamal de elote, and a tamal de pollo. All of that was Bomb! The horchata and Agua de marañon were so good too. In total the bill came out to $ 53 for 3 people and I was kinda satisfied. The reason I wasn’t fully satisfied is because yes, they do take a long time to bring your food because they only have one person doing everything. The F is that?! Be more attentive! But overall, great salvadoran food! :)

I love this place but they take forever to make the food! That’s the reason they’re only getting one star

Had to wait a long time to get helped, had to wait a long time to get food. Mostly ignored by staff and treated in a robotic manner.

This place is delicious! My go to plate is the «huevos rancheros» if you love spicy ask for some hot sauce on the side the sauce is perfect not too spicy not tasteless, it comes with fried bananas and their agua de ensalada is amazing a must have! Yea you waiti a while to get your food but its made fresh so pros and cons! Hand made tortillas though!

I almost never give bad reviews, but this one is deserved. I called to place an order, and I was hung up on. I thought maybe it was an accident. When we arrived we were not greeted and the staff looked really annoyed. Any how we stayed to order as they have vegan options for my girlfriend. I asked what option they had, and the very unhappy person at the register said it’s on the menu (referring to the one down below that was not at eye level. My girlfriend had to bend down to read it. Anyways, we order to go and waited 6 minutes shy of 40 minutes!!!
Also, another guest had to walk up to a waitress near the kitchen to ask for a napkin, and silverware.
So, if you want to order to go… order 1 hour in advance

Fantastic food, friendly staff, but yes, it does take way too long for everything. To take ur order, get ur food, etc. The prices are great, the portions are plentiful, I don’t know why it takes so long. I’m gonna try ordering take out this time.

Drive by discovery… stopped to check out the panaderia yes looks good I am having chocolate with oan dulce so very good.
Minus one star only cause some some pan should be wrapped individually.
Its not OC so dont expect clean shopping center.
Definitely will return.

Food is awesome but the service really sucks! They don’t greet no one that comes in, and have to wait to someone even tries to approach you. The only thing that has me coming back here is their ensalada drink. So yummy!

Service is bad! Food is the bomb get ur stuff to go! I love the spinach and jalapeño pupusas they are amazing. You have to buy a side of cream though. Idk why they are intentially rude.

I love this restaurant! Food is Delicious and not ridiculously overpriced. I’m rating the food 5 stars because it won’t disappoint. However. Service is horrible! Nobody will greet you when you walk in, waitresses are rude, service to your table takes forever, and not to mention that the food itself takes too long to be served. There is only one waiter (male) whom is actually really nice, so I always ask that he serves our table. I personally think that the food is worth the wait. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth! Make sure to bring your patience!
*Come in at least a good 40 minutes before you’re starving.

Even though, they have bad customer service. The thing that keeps me coming back for more is their food. The Pupusas are delicious. Everything here taste good. The only thing they need to work on is their service.

Food is okay, but service is really bad. Food came out it seemed like it was waiting on the window (food was getting cold) They only have one girl taking all orders, running food, answering phones, cashier. They should hire another person to be on the floor.

The food is good but the service is very horrible. Making customer wait for long time to take orders. I do not recommend to dine in.

Like many central American restaurants, the service is terrible here. I really don’t know why it takes waiters to come by to at least acknowledge that you are at the restaurant, but Metapaneco seems to be one of them.
It takes about 40 minutes to actually get your food so you need to be really patient and not be that hungry.
Now the food is pretty good. I like the variety of pupusas that they have and the carne asada is good. I do think some plates are really pricey, but overall the food is what brings people back despite the service. Also the refesco are great.
If you’re ever interested in coming here, be prepared for the wait because it’s going to take forever even if the restaurant is empty.

Ellos an progresado con el tiempo, muy buenas pupusas, refrescos omg todo esta muy bueno, lo que mas recomiendo es la carne azada!!! Es deliciosa, todo lo qe trae muy bueno.

La comida deliciosa un poco cara pero buena… necesitan platos y vasos nuevos… El servicio es lento pero si son buenas las pupusas.

Quality of food extremely exquisite. Small wait for food to arrive, but upon arrival presentation was great and food was delicious.
