Pizza is alway good, but the place is more dirtier every time we come. Spend some money on cleaning your establishment!!!

This place was open late night when most of the neighborhood was closed. The service is good but the pizza itself was not that great. We got a veggie pizza with spinach and artichokes, the crust was hard and not well baked

I’ve only done take out here, but the best pizza I’ve ever had! This is hands down my favorite pizza. We travel from the Philly area to pick it up for dinner occasionally. I can’t believe any of the bad reviews, maybe it’s a personal preference. The pizza really has a unique taste and isn’t like anything else I’ve had before. It may be a little pricey, but I never really pay attention because the pizza is so good. If you haven’t had grottos before, you must try it ASAP.

Grotto’s has always been a staple of Delaware and my number one choice for pizza. Not anymore. My daughter and I just got sick from it. I called to tell them and the first manager blew it off, said sorry and that he would check the date on the peppers. Didn’t even offer a refund or anything. Second time I called(because I was getting pissed that I spent $ 30 on lunch and got sick from it), after waiting on hold for so long, the second manager had the nerve to deny that it was the pizza that made us sick. My daughter and I ate pizza at the same the time and got sick at the same time!!! It was clearly the pizza! Nothing else in the past few days would have made sense, nor have we eaten the same thing in the past couple days. He refunded me for only the pizza, not my full order. I’m disgusted by the quality of food I just had and the response I got. I never write reviews, but this one was well deserved. I bet it’s hard for Grotto’s to keep up with cheap competition like Domino’s, etc., but stick to your quality!!! Don’t worsen it to manage costs. And if your customer gets sick, feel bad, refund them and don’t just brush it off!

The atmosphere is very casual, and the place is bigger than it looks. Gelato is available for those who have a sweet tooth, though I did not try it. The wings weren’t bad, as was the pizza. The french onion soup was recommended, though nothing spectacular there either. Overall, just a decent food bar menu/pizza kinda restaurant. Half price apps after 10pm in bar area.

Terrible service!!! I usually never complain but 20 min to get drinks? 45 minutes to get pizza? This is a pizza place and they should be cranking these things out. We got one large cheese pizza and it took forever. Worse part is the waiter didn’t even check on us. The manager did comp the bill, but I can tell this kind of problem happens all the time here.

Was there for lunch today. Personal Pizza was good as well as the side salad. However service was subpar. Waiter took my order after a 10 minute wait. After serving my food he never came back to check on me. Had to ask manager for my check. Won’t eat in restaurant again-always will take out from now.

Decent pizza but not great. I guess I’m just used to a different style. I had the«veggie bianco» which is a thin crust with roasted peppers and olives and cheese but not tomato sauce. Tasty but greasy. Service was good, but the noise in the restaurant from the kids and the television was offputting.

If you’ve never had this pizza you are surely missing out. Grew up on Grotto’s down in Rehoboth Beach, even after we stopped going to Rehoboth Grottos was a short ferry ride over from NJ. Glad they have this location close to Pennsylvania, it helps me cure my cravings every once in awhile. Definitely worth the drive for me. I only ever get Take-Out so i can’t comment on dining in, but the staff always seems friendly. Hands down best pizza I have had the pleasure of tasting!

Best pizza in the world. I grew up eating Grotto as kid, especially down in Rehoboth. Every Time I’m in Delaware it’s my first stop. Large pepperoni with extra cheese! You won’t be disappointed if you love pizza.

Pizza tastes like cardboard. The«legendary» wings are anything but. They were greasy, fatty, and mushy. I ordered the Blue Hen Lemonade and it tasted like rubbing alcohol, but I basically had to down it to finish my meal. The service was fine, though.

This was our favorite pizza for years… would drive to DE just to get it or stop in after a movie. The last time I picked up two large plain pizzas and poppers($ 29, with half off one). Four jalapeño poppers were $ 5(rip-off). Everyone who had pizza this last time commented that it is not as good as it used to be and thought this last order was actually terrible. It used to be delicious, couldn’t wait to go to Rehobeth Beach to get some and I was so glad one opened closer to home. At one time I would have given Grottos 4 – 5 stars. Probably won’t be getting it again anytime soon after this last time. Too expensive not to enjoy it. Complete waste of time and money.(At least at this location!)

Their pizza is good. The sauce is weird to me but I like the food. There’s nothing I can say that’s bad about their food. It definitely tastes good in a buzzed /drunk night.

Grotto’s Pizza is mainly popular in Delaware, being I haven’t seen one north of Delaware. This wasn’t in my original plans for means of consumption, but I have had them before. Well I guess times have changed along with the quality I remember of past. I have been to several of their locations little further south of Delaware, closer to O.C. Maryland. I had raved about these guys to my cousin at one time, now that we came in I /we were disappointed. While sitting waiting for our waitress we were taking in some of the dishes coming out. It didn’t have that same presentation from the past, from what I remember. We had decided to opt out on getting a pie seeing that didn’t look to appealing and go with calzones instead. Myself I went with the«Grotto Calzone» and my cousin went with a «Pepperoni Calzone». First my calzone the sauce they use wasn’t up to par, a little to acidic, and an absurd amount of cheese, it was more of a over grown hot pocket basically. The«Grotto Calzone» is supposed to have meatballs in it, sliced with ricotta. Well with the amounts of cheese they use you could barely taste any ricotta along with the few slivers of meatballs inside. My cousin’s once he bit into it, was a shot of grease like you wouldn’t believe. I and I am sure we all know pepperoni forms an oily residue once cooked, this with the amounts of cheese it was like a pocket of grease. YUM right ! Makes you want to go get a scan at the hospital, ask to see your arteries, look for blockage. This being a chain joint you figure every one is on the same page, same ingredients, same quality. I think with the umpteen years I haven’t had them recipes have changed. That is something I am not a fan of, now it is mediocre to just«Eh whatever» phase. The one good thing about this location is they have a bar, with a pretty good selection to go with. I highly doubt I will be returning back here or to any of their other locations. If it has changed that much then they need to go back to the basics.

You may refuse to believe this one simple and undeniable fact: Grotto’s pizza is the best pizza on the planet. I don’t care where you’re from or how much of a pizza snob you are, if you do not agree with the above statement you are wrong. Plain and simple. That being said, I will eat Grotto’s pizza in any environment. Even Wilmington DE. Was the restaurant dirty? Yes. Was the wait staff creepy? Absolutely. Does any of that matter? No, because the pizza is AMAZING!

I got to say, this is the best I came acroos for pizza in this area. I can only say this is because I haven’t found any other place yet. I haven’t recieved any greesy pizza yet but I find this pizza tasty. The sauce is just right but the crust could use a little bit more time in the oven. I need that crunch and it needs to have a thinner crust. I like the fact that it is a good family place and has a good sports bar. You can come here with friends or family to watch all the games. They also have gelato and subs, both are good too. I’ll keep coming here for my pizza until I find something better.

Good, greasy, basic pizza — a little expensive for what it is. Plus they sell gelato, subs & salads. I had a single slice with spinach(very good spinach topping by the way) for $ 3.25 to go. BIG parking lot and a large bar.

Grotto’s pizza is not good. For the price, it’s not a bad option if you’re ordering for a large group. The crust tastes like dust(it’s the Delaware water), and the pizza just looks like there was no care put into it. Putting the sauce on the outside of the cheese doesn’t help. I’m at a loss as to how this place has so many locations and is so popular in Delaware — I’m thinking maybe they haven’t had real pizza in New Jersey, Philly, or New York. The only positive other than the price is that they stay open until 5AM. I left the bar and found some pizza that was still warm in the trash outside, and was able to find outside seating for a quick snack. The waitress never came, but I didn’t complain because there was no charge. There’s nothing like eating pizza and watching the first light from the sun make it’s appearance on the horizon. In addition, Grotto’s is far enough from downtown Wilmington that you can safely fall asleep in their parking lot and nobody will bother you. But someone should clean the asphalt, when I woke up there was gum stuck on my ear.
