I went for Mothers day and it was nearly empty. That should have been my first warning. Dirty dining room area, slow service, dishes piled on tables after folks had left for 30, min, food on floor, broken chairs, bathroom… yuk! If that’s the dining room, what’s the kitchen look like? They just need a cleaning crew and bus boys to keep up with the place. Presentation is everything! Will not go again.

I don’t expect much for $ 12.99 Buffet. But this place was Horrible. Went at 6:30PM and food looked sparse and old. Didn’t taste much better. Seemed to have more fried American food than Chinese. Much of what I tried was cold. Staff was constantly moving the food around in the trays. I guess to make it look appetizing? What they needed was to bring out freshly cooked food. The rice on the California Roll was stale and rock hard. Mind you, this was 6:30PM still Dinner time. Could have gotten better food at shoprite next door.

Food was not good for the money spent. $ 30 for 2. Most items were not hot and we ate during peak dinner hour 6pm.

This buffet has reopened. The server told me that the owner has changed, and I can totally felt the difference. The layout is nice, and the resturant is very clean. The food is very delicious and very hot and fresh. My favorite is their Hibachi bar. There are so many fresh raw food to choose from. BTW, I came here during weekend and they serve LOBSTER! Better to give them a try, will definitely come back!

December 27, 2014 and they are having a Grand Opening. But, in my mind I am wondering if this is the same owner. I’m old enough to know that it’s rare that people change. I just don’t know if I can bring myself to go back there. My vivid imagination wanders and I can just imagine the creepy crawly things that could still be there. How does a person overcome the Heeby Jeebies?

This restaurant was closed by the State Health Inspector. Although I enjoyed a few meals here I’m now worried by whatever caused the forced closure. There have been no signs of re-opening.

LOOKNOFURTHER! THISISTHEOFFICIALREVIEW! Some people may try to give you the, well it’s a buffet, so you shouldn’t expect a 5 star restaurant. It’s good for what it is type of review. Well folks, I’m here to tell you, that’s a bunch of bologna. Upon entering the building I just got an overwhelming feeling of being uncomfortable. Once my girlfriend and I entered the dining room, it was apparent that their furniture is in need of intensive restoration. The seats on the booths were cracked and the bases were banged up and scratched. Furthermore, the carpets were dingy and sticking to the bottoms of my shoes. Which grossed me out a bit, but this was only the beginning. The waitress greeted us and asked for our drink order and then we proceeded to get our first plate of food. Everything on the buffet tables was old and the food quality looked sub par. I grabbed some food despite the freshness. After my first plate, I was scoping the place out to see if they would put some fresh food out so that I could satisfy my hunger adequately, but to no avail. I went to the fruit/salad bar for my second plate and just got shrimp cocktail to be on the safe side. When I got back to the table a gentleman was sat in the booth behind me that absolutely reeked of body odor and was being a jerk to the waitress. This man was actually pretending that he knew her native language and was trying to talk to her using made up Asian words. What a classy fella. Finally, when I went for my third and final plate they were bringing out a few things to replace the old food with. I was determined to get some fresh general tsos chicken. When the man who worked there went to refill the general tsos chicken he took out the old pan that the chicken was in and replaced it with the new pan and new chicken. However, upon changing the pans, he accidentally tilted the new pan of chicken and it took a dunk into the steam table water below. The pan filled with the murky water and he attempted a second time to secure the pan on top of the steam table thinking no one saw this. He missed his mark and for a second time the pan took a dunk. After the first time this happened, the employee should have thrown away the whole pan and started over, but he just left it there for people to unknowingly eat. Needless to say, I did not have the general tsos chicken. Now for dessert, as mentioned in other reviews the ice cream bar is a little bit sketchy, but also their pastries were stale and flies were hovering around them as well as the fruit. After all of this transpired, I became extremely irritated and wanted to leave immediately. I had to hit the restroom before we left and what I saw in there was the icing on the cake. It was in complete disarray, only compounding my irritation. So, if you are thinking about going out to a buffet in Wilmington, DE., I strongly encourage you to go to Grand East Buffet instead.

You get what you pay for… low price, low quality, but still tastes ok if you can stop yourself from thinking about what you’re putting into your body

I went to this restaurant around lunch time 1 pm. I walked inside and the décor was lovely. Service was good I was seated with in a few minutes. The table was nice and waitress were friendly. Now on to the food, I got some sushi it was nice, moist and fresh. As for the rest of the food It was steaming hot they had workers coming out changing the food trays periodically only serving nice hot food. I went into the bathroom they had tape on their dispensers but and one of doors on the stalls were gone. Yet the place was clean and I can see they are working on fixing the bathroom its just gonna take some time. This is a big change from the last time i visited this place. It was around 5 – 6 pm. Around then the waitress were staring at you with nothing to do and the food wasn’t being changed which meant the food out there was hard and not easy to chew. All of the sushi was hard I an didn’t was to get sick from it. So overall this is a nice place to come to they do have yummy food but only around lunch time.

One of the worst chinese buffet I had. Not many selection of food and most of them are very oily. The sushi was small and dried as it was sitting for a long time. I couldn’t finish one plate of food.

Nothing labeled, dirty floors and tables, a server who kept pushing food into bins that had been lying on the counter, a sushi«chef» who wouldn’t put out sushi. — on a Saturday evening at 6pm! — yeah, this was a horrible experience. To top it off, the spousal unit got very ill from the food(the rest of us just felt a bit sick to our stomachs). We will stick to the sushi buffet on Kirkwood. It was so bad I don’t even want to give them a single star.

Two stars for the lunch price alone(about $ 9 total). Avoid this spot. I didn’t expect much but this place definitely had that good ol Wilmington sheen. The sticky floor, sub par beef at the hibachi stand and the aforementioned sketchy ice cream situation ruined it for me. And I love to laugh at the incorrectly named items on the buffet but here its just sad. It was too early in the day for half empty trays of suspect General Tsos and some other type of chicken which was also lukewarm. When I told the cashier about the sticky floor he just kind of grunted at me. I admit, I’m enough of a pig to admit I got the –itis here but I’m not coming back. And they randomly play a creepy Asian accented version of Happy Birthday that sounded like alley cats whining. This was barely acceptable for a cheap lunch and I’m warning you. you may leave with the bubble guts. Spray air freshener first!

Their staff is poor. I had 2 plates and my friend had 1 and she slammed the check on the table. On top of that she was rude when I tried to explain to her.

It was just all right… I know I can’t expect too much from a Chinese buffet in Delaware but they really need to improve We came for dinner around 6:30 on a friday night and the place was mostly empty. They have lots of food items to choose from. but they were all not fresh… definitely left over from lunch… they have like 2 or 3 sad looking skinny crab legs sitting there for the whole night… it was never refilled just don’t come here

Food was ok. What saved them from getting 2 stars was the hibachi grill, if I go again that is all I am going to eat!

The food was okay(mushy, flavorless wontons) but if you’re going to serve sushi, please at least make it LOOK fresh. I’d go back again for the price(9.99 for dinner).

Better and bigger than most Chinese Buffet. The selection is great, staff is friendly & attentive. The place looks, smells and feels clean. The hibachi Grill area is great, you get to pick the ingredients and the chef will cook it. All the sushi is in plates that sit on ice. Prices are on par with most Chinese buffets. Parking is more than adequate. The 2 dinning areas are large and with an open feel. The air temperature could have been a bit cooler. I would stayed away from the ice cream. My table gave me a front seat to the things that people do with their children and how they get the ice cream out of the tubs. To get the ice cream you must lean over and down into a freezer to reach the tubs of ice cream. There is no shield like the rest of the buffet. I saw ice cream on the sleeves of people. I saw ice cream on the back of people’s hand. Lifting children over the ice cream to pick a flavor.

There is an error in the Unilocal business info for this restaurant. It’s on South Walnut Street, not North Walnut Street. The difference is North Walnut Street is in downtown Wilmington, whereas South Walnut Street is in the ShopRite strip mall just outside of the downtown area. There was more than enough parking in the strip mall at the time I was there, but I make this observation with the caveat that I wasn’t there at a peak hour. Hibachi Sushi is a rather big Chinese buffet. They have 12 tables of food, including one table for hibachi and one table for sushi. At the sushi table, I liked that they have tempura sushi(fried sushi), which is not usually found at a Chinese buffet. The dragon roll was good too. However, they’re lacking in the sashimi department. At the hibachi, you get to pick the ingredients and the chef will cook it on the hibachi grill. The rest of the tables offer typical Chinese buffet dishes. The dessert selection is big. They have a better selection of soups than most Chinese buffets, although I only tried their hot and sour soup. Instead of a solitary soft serve machine that one finds at other Chinese buffets, this place has a chest freezer stocked with half a dozen ice cream flavors. A very nice end to the meal indeed. Overall, they do offer a bit more than other Chinese buffets in this area that I’ve tried. Prices compare favorably against other buffets. I haven’t tried their dinner selection yet. However, I was already quite impressed with their lunch spread.

Gigantic restaurant offering most everything one would expect from hibachi grills bistros, traditional Chinese restaurants, sushi bars and with a little Korean and American thrown in. HB&SB has pretty much everything you’d expect from all of those places under one roof and in a massive dining space offering booths for intimate dining to tables for large groups. Service is very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Prices are on par with most Chinese buffets which means VERY affordable, though diners going through the Hibachi grill line are required to pay an additional price aside from the general buffet charge. Buffet includes over a hundred items and the bars are spaced across the central space of the restaurant provide both equal access to the flanking dining rooms as well as easy movement among the many people who already frequent this new restaurant. Great place for a business lunch or a family dinner.
