Stayed 8÷19÷15. Hotel is well maintained. Front Desk staff was friendly. Lobby/breakfast area is spacious and comfortable. Room was clean and quiet. Internet was poor — very slow or no connection. Hotel offers«midnight pancakes» from 8:00PM. Nice offering, but they did not taste good and no beverages were available. Hotel is within walking distance to a Walmart.

I’ve had a number of weeks of work in the Wilmington area, and each time, this is the hotel I go to. It’s always clean, the check-in is incredibly fast, the price is excellent compared to similar hotels in the area, and the staff is amazing. The WiFi is actually halfway decent, too! If you need a solid hotel with great service and a decent location, you cannot go wrong with this one.

My only complaint here is the shower. It takes a while to get warm. It never really reached a nice level of warmth for me. Clean room, good breakfast and friendly staff made my stay pretty good.

I visit Carolina Beach quite frequently. I stayed at this Holiday Inn for the first time and me and my kids loved it! The front desk clerk, Aurora(I think that’s her name) was so sweet. Very welcoming. She persuaded me to join the IHG rewards club, it’s free so I did. Great benefits and perks like extended check out time up to two hours. We checked out at 2pm vs. noon. The breakfast was the BEST thing. Boy I tell Ya. Those cinnamon rolls are soooooooo good. Warm, moist, buttery and perfect with a cup a tea! My kids loved the free breakfast buffet. Saved me money on buying food from a local restaurant— it gets quite expensive feeding young athletic boys! The room was clean, pillows fluffy and great channel selection, although the my kids kept the channel on Cartoon Network and Nick throughout our whole stay– but hey, kept them calm and entertained why not. Wish there was an indoor heated pool, but there was a cute lil gym, so that’s good. The bathroom tub could of been more updated. But for the cost of the nightly rate I can’t complain, plus kids felt comfortable to take an actual bath vs. shower. So not bad. The pics on Unilocal are extremely old, the hotel has been renovated and rooms updated to a more contemporary look. Overall Great stay. Will be back! Can’t wait for those cinnamon rolls ! Mmmmmm good!

Hotwire has this hotel as a 3 star, I would agree. Check in was fast, no issues. The front desk associate upgraded me to a suite, certainly no issue there. The room is huge, complete with microwave, mini fridge, bar sink, living and a sitting room in the master, etc. Breakfast was good, they had plenty of hot items available as well as yogurt, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal(with walnuts, raisins, etc). Coffee is decent although I bring my own to French press in the room. The location is great, right off a main highway and there a million and one dining choices within a half mile away. The bed was comfortable and you get the large pillows, firm or soft. I hate those half pillows you get at some hotels. Good stay, too bad it’s only for the one night.

OK. Everything about the inside of the hotel was fine. Three stars. Nothing special, and the place is entirely interchangeable with any other Holiday Inn Express you’ll find. But there was some weird stuff… The most egregious offense was that, right after Labor Day, during what is still a relatively busy season, they decided to repave the parking lot. Nothing wrong with it, but management decided to do it nonetheless. This meant that they roped off about 60% of the parking lot and tried to prevent people from parking there. The problem with this, of course, is that the rest of the parking lot couldn’t come close to holding the number of cars that were staying there. Add to that the fact that there was next to no street parking, and you have a bit of clusterf***. This soured the whole trip, because I kept having to deal with this. The people at the front desk were nice, but I still had to keep going up there and ensuring that they weren’t going to tow my car. Really annoying.

Every one here is so nice and friendly. From management to maids. I lost my wallet and within 5 minutes the front desk called my room to tell me they had found it.

Dangerous… I got stuck in an elevator for 15 mins today!!! When I finally got out, thanks to the onsite guy shutting off the power and restarting TWICE, I went to the front desk. I advised them, some desk kid and another guy in a baseball cap and sandals, who said he was the manager. Both looked unconcerned and actually told me that the elevator repair company was late ! Well… why was the elevator even permitted to stay in operation! I have stayed in over 75HI Exp and this was one of the shabbiest…

2.5 stars. On our way down to Myrtle Beach we decided to take a pit stop here for a late August vacation. The hot breakfast was pretty good and I thought the automatic pancake machine was pretty cool. But if there is one thing I’ll remember about this place is the grimy floors. Wearing shoes inside your domicile just feels like a sin for Asians; however, we made an exception for this place. In fact, take the bare foot challenge and walk around inside the room for a while. Then walk into the tub, turn on the water, and see if you leave dark dirty foot prints!!! Like all the other Holiday Inn’s I’ve been to recently, the beds are really comfortable.

After all of the advertising we’d seen for how comfortable their beds are I had to check out a Holiday Inn express. I’d have to say while it was okay(bed nowhere near as comfortable as I was hoping) I think it was a bit overpriced for what it was. Am I the only person who likes having an internet connection while sitting in bed watching TV? Places like this either need to go wireless or have their dataports closer to the bed or provide longer CAT5 cables(which incidentally I had to ask for at the desk and the guy had no clue as to what I was talking about). It’s just as well, their service cut out on our second day there. So much for staying connected.
