isubs

iSubs is a small – very small – corner counter inside another eatery, Zaikka Indian Grill. The menu is sparse but is vegetarian/​vegan friendly and if you don’t see anything interesting just walk ten feet to the left and you have a larger menu from which to choose something yummy. There is plenty of dining space, however, and the entire place is clean and modern.
I ordered the Moroccan Pita Wrap with falafel to go since I was in a hurry. The friendly lady who took my order must have sensed my urgency – the wrap was freshly made and delivered to me within three minutes. And I admit I was very hungry, but that was the best sandwich I have had in a long time. The falafel was great and she stuffed the pita full of it. It was the perfect portion size for lunch, though it might have been a little too much if I had added a side. I did not buy a beverage but noticed alcohol among their offerings in the cooler behind the counter if you are into that.
Prices are on par for downtown Wilmington ($ 7 for the wrap and some pleasantly odd dried onion crisps thrown in on the side). Overall, I definitely recommend giving it a try when you want a refreshing change from the usual sandwich fare most places offer.

What an awesome spot! Quick service Indian food on one side (Zaikka) and international subs on the other. The Thai peanut wrap and the falafel wrap are both excellent. The hummus is a tasty snack as well. I also have to give props to the woman who is at the I subs counter. She is so sweet and friendly and remembers everyone.
