Maxey the Cleaner

The sign on the door says: «Hours Monday-​Friday 7:45 — 6:30». I showed up before 6pm on a weekday and the place was closed. The sign still said «Open» but the lights were off and the door was locked. Noone was inside. Needless to say, they failed to provide the service I paid for. Maxey, you are not nicey! A courtesy note on the door describing where you are would’ve been nice.

I’ve been taking my clothes here for dry cleaning for years. Great service and I have never had a problem. I just brought a suit pant I got from a London business to be hemmed along with several other pants. She did a wonderful job.

I have a couple of job interviews coming up and needed some stuff done to look my best. My family has periodically gone to Anton’s, but I wanted to see if there wasn’t somewhere better I could go. Unilocal directed me to this place.
The smell of the place is somewhat strange (akin to the way I remember my grandmother’s house smelling), but the lady who works there is super nice! I brought my stuff in on Monday, and was able to have it ready 2 days later, as I requested. Although I’m not extremely well-​versed in dry cleaning costs, the $ 7.25 it cost me to have a pair of pants and shirt done seems reasonable.
But the best part? I didn’t have any cash and wanted to pay with my debit card. Recognizing that I’m a new customer, the lady told me it was OK this time, but that they usually have a $ 10 credit minimum. So nice! I’ll make sure I remember this for next time.
Overall, a cute little cleaners that does a nice job, especially if you want to avoid heading down to the Plaza at rush hour.

my grandmother actually turned me onto this cleaners when I was having a cow about the prices at Anton’s Cleaners. There is this lady who works here that is so happy and cheerful it’s contagious. She’s the only person I have encountered, so if you stop by here I’m sure you’ll catch her. It’s a small and local shop and after a few visits there is that local/​hometown feeling. She has no idea how to say my name, but she knows me well enough to have my clothes at the register when she sees me park the car through the windows. And to top it off, the prices are low and the service is fast. The typical wait is about 2 – 3 days, but you can get same day for a little extra.
