Michaelangelos Pizza & Subs

This pizza is just okay. That’s the reason I only gave it one star. The pizza is limp unlike the way New York style pizza should be.

I ordered a chicken parm sub to go. It was taking a little time to prepare so they brought me out a free garlic knot and drink. Great customer service.
The sub was pretty good. I have had better but no complaints.
The also have great New York style pizza.

I’ve only been there once and I’ve only had their pizza, so this is not a comprehensive review of the place. All I can say is that their pizza was exceptionally good. We just moved to Wilmington and we tried Michaelangelo’s simply because it is close to where we live. But we struck gold in the first mine. I don’t think we’ll even bother to check out other pizza places near us because it is pretty much impossible that anyone else has pizza better than what we got here. Crust was soft and chewy — if you like it real crisp, this may not be the pizza for you. What else can I say? Good toppings, great cheese, great sauce, in just the right proportions. Damn good pizza.

Usually love love a slice of pizza. Today bottom burned. Husbands too. Tasted old. Will not come a 4:30 pm again.

They’ve satisfied my search here or good, consistent NY style pizza. The pizza is cooked well every time, they deliver, they remember your last order when you call by identifying your phone number, they get things right like sauce etc. every time. I highly recommend them for taste, service and all that stuff!

Best pizza I have had in North Carolina! Moved to the Raleigh area from Upstate New York (Buffalo) about 5 years ago. So when it comes to a good pie, I have pretty high expectations. About the best I have had until now was Mellow Mushroom. But this place really brings it, when it comes to a good solid pepperoni and sausage — chunks not slices, by the way, and just the right amount of grease!

Awesome experience and food. Staff was great. Fast and friendly even when busy. Slices are good size and lunch specials are great. Definitely going back next time I’m in wilmington.

Very good pizza! Crust is a little soft for my preference, and garlic knots could use some more butter/​oil but still delicious. Very friendly employees too!
The 24 inch «Godfather» pizza and the all you can eat specials are really neat and the UNCW discount is really helpful too.

Very good pizza. Huge slices. Stopped in for buffet which is really different but in a good way. You select two slices from the case and they heat it in oven again (I wasn’t sure about this) but was very good. I had a third slice which was about one pizza total. I ordered the Godfather to go. 24″ and almost wouldn’t fit in my back seat. You should try if in the area. Can’t go wrong. Sandwiches and plates looked good as well.

Delicious pizza! The pizza buffet is a great deal. The restaurant is clean.

Saw on way to Home Depot. Stopped in and grabbed a slice. Server asked which pizza I wanted and I ordered a slice with sausage and pepperoni. Slice came out timely and was delicious. Why 3 stars because the staff leads a lot to be desired. Was not asked if I wanted a beverage from girl who was not even interested in serving me and then when pizza pulled from oven the guy missed the paper plate on the counter and just shoved another plate under pizza. Food good but could use some customer service work. Good pizza and bad service equal a 3 star rating

The absolute best pizza in the world! If you want the best taste, you have to order a fresh whole pizza. The pizza always tastes great! They toss the pizza and everything. Just wish they had homemade sweet tea.

My wife and I are from the Philly area (many years ago), and in all of our travels in the midwest and southeast we were hard pressed to find good pizza, cheese steaks and Italian hoagies like the ones we remember from those years. This place is a winner! What a treat to find this place not far from our new home in SE NC. We’ll make this a regular part of our visits to Wilmington.

Came by this past Wednesday during the great ice storm of 2014 and even with no power managed to provide some excellent pizzas for our office. I’m not sure why this place has so many great reviews but we ordered cheese, sausage and pepperoni pizzas and they were all delicious. One coworker remarked (not knowing where we ordered) that «this definitely isn’t Little Caesars» (which at the very least would put it above mediocre as some have said). Despite not having any soft drinks or change (couldn’t open the cash register), I think we were all pretty happy with the pizza at this location. We ordered via the phone and our order was ready when it was supposed to. I’ll have to come back when they actually do have a fully operating restaurant!

I’ve been working in this shopping center for 2 weeks. I have no clue why anyone would rate this as not good. The food has been exceptional, and the lunch special is a real deal. I personally like the Stromboli, but my guys and I have tried a few menu items and not been displeased by anything we’ve ordered. Give it a try!

Pizza was mediocre at BEST, and they forgot my dessert for the order. Definitely won’t be ordering again.

My husband and I ordered pizza last night from here and it was to die for! It was delivered piping hot and delicious!

I have been dining at this Michaelangelo’s location for years and have found it to be consistently good. As most people know, opinions of the «best pizza» vary endlessly. I am not claiming that the pizza here is the best pizza you could ever have… but…it’s pretty darn good. As a child I lived up north and had a lot of experience with true New York style pizzerias. With that said, I can honestly state that Michaelangelo’s Pizza is certainly up to par with any of these establishments. All you have to do is drop by around lunch time and you will see for yourself how popular this place is! It’s truly a local favorite. The staff is always focused and friendly. The dining area is usually very clean and the bathrooms are well maintained. However, a word of warning… if you sit at a booth and have long legs… watch out! There is a strangely placed pole that will take a knee cap off when sliding out of the booth. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone limping out! LOL However, I keep going back so that should tell you something.
