We used to go here a few times a month but I always leave disappointed. It’s just your average mediocre local breakfast spot but no flavor in the food. Wait staff must have too many tables in their section because they are never attentive and always slow. Overall just never a superb experience.

Great little breakfast place. We really enjoyed the food and honestly the hustle and bustle of this place may have turned off some people, but we loved that it added to the old-school breakfast dinner thing they got goin’ on there despite the coastal themes. We’re excited for a chance to go back.

Salt works is a mixed bag for me. The service at first was quick and easy. Then there are times you wait 20 mins to order. The food is almost always worth the wait. I’d avoid the shrimp and grits as it’s more like tasteless soup than a meal. Also avoid the cornbeef hash. Somehow there seems to be beef but no cornbeef in it. Very strange. Then there was yesterday. The food was great — well once I could find something they weren’t out of. Wait that was Friday morning. So a mixed bag. The cocktails are consistently good.

Excellent food, great prices and it has the southern home feel but I gave it a 4 star due to service being so-so. It was because place was packed. I would most definitely eat again. The steak and eggs were delicious. My first time eating here. Passed it a thousand times and decided to eat there today.

I’ve been here four times and have ordered the same food each time for breakfast. I had a western omelette hash browns and sausage links. The sausage links come with two links. They are not very greasy which I liked compared to other places. The omelette was just an average omelette. It was nothing great but also it was not bad. They have two different types of hashbrowns cubed or shredded. I had the shredded and I like them. The service is excellent there, and consistent. You should not run out of anything to drink as they come around throughout your entire meal several times to top off your coffee or other drinks. Mike took two people would be that on a Saturday or Sunday when you go get there before 9:30AM. Between 930 and 10AM the place gets packed with customers and you can experience longer wait times.

One word: Excellent! Everything about this place was awesome! The location is quiet and relatively secluded as compared to other Wilmington restaurants. The atmosphere inside was nice and did not feel crowded with people or décor. Serving breakfast and lunch all day, this place has a little something for whatever you’re feeling. The prices were not bad at all. This is for sure one of our new breakfast/brunch go-to places. Not a single complaint about our experience!

Service was slow. Waited 45 minutes after placing our order to receive our food. Fix your computer issue, my stomach pleads w/u.

Horrible experience! First got lost on the waiting list and was skipped! Second, waited 40 mins for 2 eggs/hash browns and burnt bacon! Not a happy camper. Only good think was the cost!

I can’t decide what’s better, the fried oysters and mac&cheese or the service. Everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy working there even with it being a Holiday after a huge tourist weekend. The service was great, the waiter was so friendly and even the other servers were happy to help us. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

We went to Saltworks II to try out a new breakfast place. It is a small place with a bit of a diner feel. First, the service was top-notch. The employees are happy and super friendly. The food was served quickly, and tasted great. I had the veggie omelet with homestyle potatoes. My husband had the Spanish omelet with cheese grits. The food was served hot and fresh. The server checked on us a few times during our meal. Prices are reasonable, too! We would definitely recommend this place, and will be back again.

Good ‘N Cheap. This cute little place is more for locals than tourists. Mostly because it’s off the beaten path. I love their corned beef hash. They make it in house. More beef, less potato.(My husband’s fav hash is at White Front) Their breakfast sandwiches are good too. Saltworks has a good menu selection. We have had lunch here too but mostly breakfast. I can’t remember which day has live music. Saturday or Sunday morning. One guy and his acoustic guitar. A must try. You can stay under $ 20 for breakfast for two With tip.

This place is great– a friendly, smaller restaurant with good food. We brought along our two young kids who are picky eaters and they also enjoyed their meals. The breakfast is better than either IHOP or Denny’s and the coffee is good. I gave it 4 stars because on my 2nd visit the food wasn’t delicious like the first visit, but it was still good. Have yet to have visited the place for lunch, but we will definitely go back and recommend this restaurant to others.

Best omelet I’ve had in years. Good food, and service was amazing. Highly recommend. My entire family enjoyed it. Including the picky eater.

Okay apparently I went everywhere everyone hates in wilmington but hit them on great days because I had the Salmon cakes here and they were totally dreamy!!! crispy and chalk full of salmon… my friend had the Shrimp and Grits and OMG I almost traded her for them literally a bucket of grits with huge plump shrimp over flowing!

I was craving oysters today so went to salt works ll for lunch. I ordered the oyster po boy. It comes with fries and jalapeño tarter sauce. When I got my sandwich the bun looked small so I took the top off and there were only 5 oysters on it. That was disappointing considering the price.(8.50). I took my first bite and immediately thought maybe 5 was too many. The oysters were bitter and strong(not in a good way). I took a second bite. I bit into the jalapeño tarter sauce… all I could taste was hot. Okay one more bite. Nope couldn’t eay any more. The fries were not bad but only warm. The cocktail sauce was so clumpy and cold that I couldn’t even dip my ff in it. On thr the up side yhe server was nice and the cashier was nice. I may go back again but not ever for oysters again. Salt works wad so much better before Robert Irvine.

Food and service was average. The prices were kind of high compared to other«breakfast» diners but in line with the IHOPs and Denny’s. Because we had mostly breakfast food, I can’t really say it was the best or the worst. Its just bacon, eggs, and hash browns. The only critique and not a complaint is that some of the chairs need replacing. The one at our table actually had a rip and the foam was coming out. Something like that is not a deal breaker for me but does tell me that the management does not pay attention to detail. Personally, I will look for franchise breakfast place next time only because I enjoy their menu items.

We went there on Friday after July 4th. Apparently there was only 2 servers for the roomful of customers. We waited 15 mins to put in the order for our food and then over an hour for the food to come! We saw people got up and leaving. We probably should have done the same. The waitress dropped one oyster off my friends plate when she brought it over. She apologized and did not offer to bring more over.(Since there were only like 10 pieces in total we thought she would have done something more) because of the wait, we got our drinks for free. The reason why I did not give this place a 1 star is because the food was pretty good. I got the veggie omelette and it was cheesy and the egg was thin and cooked perfectly. My party all enjoyed their food. Again we were absolutely starving when we got our food… I’m sure anything tasted better than normal at our stages… I would recommend leaving if you see a roomful of people at this place!

So I was eating at Salt Works II before they were on TV and it was the«cool» thing to do. Just kidding… but I was. This used to be my every Saturday morning breakfast spot and I loved it. I used to bring my crossword puzzle and order a bunch of food and I was happy to sit and chill! Some coworkers and I even started having a monthly breakfast there about an hour before work. After the TV makeover, I went for dinner. I had roasted chicken and it was seriously tasty. Homemade taste all the way with some great sides. The service can be a little hit or miss, but they also have some people who have worked there a long time and will take good care of you. I miss this place terribly since moving to Raleigh, I haven’t been able to find a breakfast spot I like nearly as much since I moved here over a year ago.
