After seeing such great reviews my wife and I went here this morning it did not fall short of the great reviews the food was great and the service was amazing. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable! We had the fried balogna sandwich it was tasty and huge. The bread was delicious as was everything on the sandwich. We also had the meatballs and the pork circles they were also delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try other things!

Get the cheese fries. Best cheese fries town, and the only place that does a real cheese sauce for their fries. Best beer selection in the area. The wife and I also really like the mini corn dogs and homemade soft pretzels. Great bar food, always remember to check the specials, they’re great!

Great place! Wife and I ate lunch here today. The employees and atmosphere were all great. We ordered the 2 egg sandwich, a breakfast burrito, and I had 2 beers. The food was served in frying pans! We thought that was awesome. The food presented well and tasted even better. They have a large beer menu and bottles to go. Overall great place. We’ll go again.

My fave neighborhood bar! The hubby and I frequent this place as much as possible! Run, then feast!!! All about the decadence! Don’t even mention healthy here! All about the gluttony!(That’s why we run 1st! Ha ha) great beer selection & the pork cicles are to die for!!! Awesome sandwiches that really fill you up! Coming from PA, this is a taste of home! The staff is super nice so just belly up to the bar and enjoy!!! We do!!!

Good and different food, good location, great beer and possibly good atmosphere. We went there for the first time after looking at reviews and details on Unilocal. One thing that was appealing to us was where it says«good for kids» NO. Listen I love kids, I raised one and spent many years going to kid friendly places and all that goes with it. But now when we work work 50 hours a week. get out very little we are looking for an «adult» friendly quiet(also noted on Unilocal) place to relax and we walked in it was loud and too many kids. Not the restaurants fault. that being said dinfinately worth another try. we will go back!

My wife and I stopped in on Sunday morning based on the Unilocal reviews. We were not disappointed. While the menu is not expansive, the sandwiches are huge and very very good. The beer selection looks great as well, but considering the time/day we were there I wasnt able to sample it. Ill be back for sure.

Another fantastic meal at Keg and Egg. Had the cappicola and pork cicles. Too good. Also tried the Cack A Lacky ginger pale ale and the Hi-Wire Lager. This is a great place with excellent service.

Our meals were great. Tried the meatball sandwich and my friend had the Pittsburgh style ham, egg and cheese. The food was delish. The wait staff couldn’t have been more friendly!

To start on a good note The Keg and Egg did have a wonderful beer selection. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a good selection. So for the not so good. This was our first(and last) trip here, the menu sound really good, but when we asked our server questions she would answer then and take a step back after each question getting further and further away from the table. So we both ordered the Pittsburgh style sandwich which is a sandwich with egg, tomato, cheese, slaw and french fries. The first half of the sandwich wasn’t bad but we started on the second half of the sandwich and it just started to taste bad, like my gag reflex went off so I stopped eating the sandwich. We got our check and left to enjoy the sunny day with the doors off the jeep. An hour or so later is when all hell broke lose. I have never been so sick with a stomach issue(this was the only meal I had all day). This lasted for three days I thought I needed to go see my doctor. Just throwing this out there, good luck if you go.

Very good. Short but very varied menu. Sandwiches, eggs and meat choices, cheese fries selection(which is amazing) and pork cicles. Good service. It’s got a very good bottle selection. Everything we ate was super tasty.

Great hidden gem! So many beers, delicious food, cozy atmosphere and all at very reasonable prices. I recommend the salami and cheese sandwich! All sandwiches are served«Pittsburgh style.» I’ve learned that this means with fries, slaw and tomato stacked in the sandwich with meat and cheese between two slices of fresh, locally baked bread. Fries are also served on the side. The menu is small but mighty. The atmosphere is quaint and casual. And the service is most definitely with a smile. :)

Charming and friendly, Keg & Egg’s atmosphere is top notch. My experience upon walking in the door was fantastic because it was like everyone knew one another. Seating is cozy and wait service is very attentive. Wine selection is great and priced appropriately and the food was absolutely out of this world.

Third time in three weeks and I was away on vacation for one of those weeks. A twist on pub grub for WIlmington and delicious. Your arteries may slow a bit but you will be emotionally happy with the result! Service has been great, even with just me and my toddler on one of my visits. Great food, great beer selection(and I am picky), and best of all… not trying to do more than what they are good at doing. They could easily make it anywhere in town so it’s nice to have keg and egg in this area. Never been next door to the sports bar but they aren’t trying to compete. One TV at the bar, good ambiance tunes, and great simple décor/atmosphere. Not to mention you can just stop by to grab beer to go since it is also a bottle shop. Go support these local folks.

Kegs and Eggs is a must if you like great home cooked food that truly depict a specialty from the«Burgh» the freshness of the bread and the flavor bonanza in the sandwich is awesome !!! And to top it off if you like a great selection of craft brews to go with it this is the place. Casual and friendly is the best description for the atmosphere and owner RJ and John will make you feel at home. A bit of the Burgh right here in Wilmington and that is coming from a Browns fan. A must visit.

Stopped on the way to Carolina Beach for the day. Awesome bottle shop to pick up some brews for the beach. They will even fill your cooler with ice. The bacon sandwich was amazing the bread so fresh and tasty. the bacon and eggs cooked to perfection. I was going to save half for the beach, but ate it all along with all the fires. Can’t wait to get back and there and try the rest of the menu and great craft beer on tap.

Dear lord baby Jesus, this is hands down one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Found out about this new Pittsburg meets southern flare restaurant through a few friends and I love trying new things. The keg and egg does not disappoint. I ordered the fry pie with chili, cheese and bacon. Yes, it could have used extra bacon but the chili was meaty without being too wet for the fries and it was smothered with both cheese sauce and melted shredded cheese. The fries were hand cut and also seemed to have a hint of vinegar which was a wonderful surprise in my mouth. I also ordered the monster meatball sub. The name does not lie, it’s a monster of meaty cheesy, saucy heaven. Six hours later I’m still full and the heart burn was well worth it. The keg and egg is still in the soft opening stage and there is currently very little information about the restaurant online besides a Facebook group and an article written by the Wilmington business journal. The bartender Nancy was awesome. She explained that everything is word of mouth and they have not started advertising. I think it’s great they are working out any kinks before promoting. Inside is very casual and small. The rectangular bar seats about ten. There are also a few high top tables and about 5 four top tables. My favorite aspect is the beer for purchase at grocery store pricing. The selection of beer is incredible including Pittsburgh beer’s, NC brews and my personal favorite; Not your fathers root beer. I posted a picture of the menu and will definitely be back very soon.
