Very disappointed! We arrived for our 4pm reservation at 4pm. We, along with about 3 other groups, could not be seated because the wait-staff was still in a staff meeting. First time I went somewhere to eat where they were open, but not ready to do business. After we we’re seated, our waitress Alex, takes our orders. The cheese fondue comes out along with the bread, apples, and vegetables. She tells us we can get refills of the bread and veggies when we need them. Unfortunately, she doesn’t bother to come back to the table for an extended period of time. And that was the problem the entire time; she rarely came back to see if we needed anything. The cheese fondue, salad, and entrees were good. For dessert, we had the white chocolate and the Flaming Turtle. The white chocolate was almost water thin, and tasted nothing like chocolate. The Flaming Turtle was chocolate syrup thin and flavor-less. The chocolates were something I would not order again. The service was absolutely terrible. I’ve never had a waitress be so inattentive. She brought our check, and immediately disappeared again. I tired of waiting for her to come back, so I took my check to the hostess and told her I was ready to leave and tired of waiting for our waitress to come back. She then tracked down Alex, and she finally came back with the credit slip to sign. I’ve eaten at the Melting Pot that use to be in Center City Philly, and the experience there was nothing like my experience in Wilmington.

I love this place! I go here for my birthday every year and I’m never dissatisfied. The servers are so nice and explain the whole menu very well. They even gave me a happy birthday card that they signed! It is expensive, which is why I just go on my birthday.

This was my first time and last time at this restaurant. I did not like the entrée what so ever. I didn’t do much research before I came here and I only came for a birthday dinner, but I do not like how we have to cook our own food. The entrées are broiled & tastes bland. They do offer dipping sauce, but that only helps a little. The only thing I liked about my dinner was the first course and dessert. the cheese, then the chocolate. If I was to ever go back, those are the only two items from the menu that I will pick.

Loved this experience. Went for my husband’s birthday and had a great time. If I had one tiny complaint, it was that I was the unlucky one sitting right in the path of the steam off the pot when they would turn it up to get it cooking. This was due to the fans but didn’t take away from my enjoyment. Had a wonderful time, this is pricey so it’s for special occasions but if you are looking for something different, this is it.

RJ brought me here on my birthday. We ordered all the same as before except he got the steak lovers entrée instead of the Cajun. My bartender wasn’t there, but the one working came to the table to confirm my drink. Even though it’s not on the menu, he said they have a recipe. The waiter was great, and put a candle on our dessert. I also got a free box of chocolate covered strawberries for my birthday!

We ordered the Classic Alpine founde, which was delicious. For the entrée, we had steak, duck, tuna and shrimp Bourguignonne style, which is a European-style fondue in oil and tempura. Not a good choice for us as it ended up being too greasy. It was an interesting dining experience, but the flavor of the meats and sauces didn’t meet our expectations. Also, as someone who cooks a lot at home, I wasn’t thrilled about going to a restaurant to cook my own food. I’d recommend going here for a light meal, and just order the cheese fondue and a bottle of wine.

Quality food and worth the price. I’ve never disliked anything from here and I’ve been here at least ten times. I love everything on the menu, from the salads to the desserts. You can come here for an anniversary or even for a fun time with your family. The last time I was here, our server was really weird. I think he was new because I didn’t recognize him. He forgot to bring us water three times(literally, three) and actually brought out our cheese fondu before we received water in the first place. Needless to say, I was on the brink of dying of thirst the entire two hours we were there. But other than that, yum!

Love this place. Its a little pricy, but you get a great amount of food for what you pay for. I love the teriyaki beef and lobster tail the most. We always ask for extra mushrooms because the mushrooms cooked with gorgonzola sauce are to die for. This time around we also paid extra for cheesecake to dip in our chocolate and WOW it’s so worth it!

I love the melting pot! The food and the service is always awesome! I definitely recommend the house salad with the house dressing and the seasoning on top. So good! Girls nights make for a fun night out. I don’t think it’s always on their menu, but ask for the crème brûlée chocolate. It really should be a staple on their menu. If they have the ingredients, they will make it.

Thank you to our waiter Ryan for an amazing experience!!! He was very funny, intuitive, and explained the whole process along the way. Probably the best wait staff I’ve had in my life. Our meal was over 2 hours and we never felt rushed out or neglected. My mom was in town visiting so we decided to finally try this place out. I’ve heard people complain its super expensive but the two of us dined for 67 dollars(before tip and tax free in Delaware). We enjoyed unsweetened iced teas and then the four course pairings. Cheese fondue, spinach almond bleu cheese salads, then we each got our entrees. I had the duck, sirloin, shrimp, and pot stickers while mom had the filet, shrimp, and chicken. We ended with the chocolate fondue. We had no clue we would be cooking part of the meal so that was a lot of fun. Kind of wish we had more broccoli than potatoes in our pot but that’s ok. I am so excited to return soon. Going on a Sunday evening kept it quiet, a nice ambience, and a lot of fun.

Believe it or not, I had NEVER been to a MP before last night(Mother’s Day) but I had read the menu, reviews and my brother and his wife love it there — so I kinda knew what to expect. I completely agree that this is the kind of meal you can only have a few times per year. Great for kids(they love to dip) and if you are younger and not as jaded makes a good«date night» or special occasion place. They try to make it dimly lit and faux-mantic in there!(LOL.) It was PERFECT for Mother’s Day — and our server, Amanda(who has been at this location for 11 years) was terrific. For $ 40 per person($ 20 for el kiddo) we got the«whole shebang» and even upgraded our dessert dippers($ 4.95) to include a slice of(mediocre) cheesecake and frozen cream puffs. not sure we’d do that again. Also the salad(Caesar) was unimpressive. The cheese and chocolate fondues were the best parts of the meal(would ike to see better veggies for dipping — we only got celery, carrot and cauliflower — would love to see broccoli, sugar snap peas, bell peppers.) Court Boullion was very salty — but tasted OK — definitely imparted flavor to the potatoes and mushrooms. Meats varied from delicious(Shrimp & Filet Mignon) to boring(Chicken) to not very good(«Ahi» Tuna — who BOILS tuna?). We’ll return — but not right away. I would go back just for dessert — or they now have(but not all the time) a $ 20 deal for Cheese, salad(yawn) and dessert. Or maybe just dessert? Oh — and the«Parmesan crusted pine nuts» in the Caesar salad were NOT parm crusted — they were downright candied. Tasty — but not what i was expecting.

I just went to the Melting Pot for the first time today and I must say, it was amazing! My boyfriend and I chose the 4 course option on this visit. In my opinion, if you are really hungry or with another person, the 4 course option is great because you share a cheese fondue and a desert pot for about 40.00 per person. The service, food and atmosphere was amazing! This place is definitely on the pricier side of things, but it is worth every penny!

The melting pot is one of my favorite restaurants. I went to this location for the first time last weekend, as both of the Philly locations were booked due to restaurant week. I have been to many different melting pot locations and have found that the quality/service is always great across the board, and this one is no exception. My boyfriend and I were seated promptly at our reservation time in an nice, intimate corner booth. For anyone that hasn’t been to the melting pot, you typically do 4 courses(cheese, salad, meats and dessert). Dining here really is an experience. Cheese Fondue: We’re boring and just went with the cheddar fondue, but there are a lot of other cool options. Dippers with this include two different types of bread along with some fruit and vegetables. It’s so good and you need to try and not fill up here. Try the apple in cheese! Seems like an odd combination but it is delicious. Salad: I got the caesar salad. Salad are fresh and high-quality. I love the nuts that they put on this salad. Meat: This is the part where you cook your meats in the fondue pot. I always go with the standard cooking oil. For the meat combination we went with the classic which includes: shrimp, pork, chicken, & two different types of steak. All amazing. They also give you a bunch of sauces that go good with different types of meat. My favorites are the teriyaki steak sauce and the green goddess. Dessert: The chocolate fondue is incredible. No matter how full I am, I always still seem to have room for their dessert. We went with the«yin & yang» chocolate fondue, but I have tried basically all of them and they’re all amazing. You get various dippers like: strawberries, brownies, marshmallows, pound cake etc. All of the food here is top notch. Some people aren’t as crazy as I am about the melting pot and I really can’t understand why. The service here was great, our waitress was super friendly. They are happy to explain everything to you and always check up on you. For drinks, I would recommend the love martini, delicious and strong(in a good way). For 2 people we paid a bit over $ 100, which I can’t complain about. Well worth the money!

I have eaten here a few times over the years. First time = cool, different Second time = cool, I know what to expect and can watch others fumble thru it. Subsequent visits = OK, but kids get a kick out of it. Quality of product would be 4 star. Service 3.5, long gaps and empty cups. Quantity for price 2. Staff interaction 4.5. All and all fun thing to do with the kids once a year.

I would have to say this restaurant earns it’s 5th star through the efforts of the wonderful staff. I took my wife here for her birthday, she’d been before and had raved about the place, so it was a sure bet from the get go to please her. The restaurant is dim and moodily lit, with a sedate atmosphere with vibe to match. We were quickly seated in a back booth, ensuring absolute privacy for an intimate evening. I loved it, as I am a huge fan of such a peaceful dining experience. I’m sure other people love a lively atmosphere, but I am not one of them. Once seated, our waitress quickly and professionally detailed their offerings and made suggestions based from an obvious depth of knowledge about the dishes they served. Starting with beers, we began with a pot of Spinach and Artichoke cheese dip. It was nice seeing our waitress prepare the fondue tableside, with speed and purpose she had it done in no time. Of note, the veggies were crisp and fresh and went well with the fondue. We were served small salads in between the cheese and the main dish. In a world of monster salads it was kind of refreshing. I had the ceasar, and it was quite tasty and fresh. When the meat arrived for the main dish we were given a quick tutoring by the waitress and we were let loose. On the plate were dumplings, two types of steak, chicken and shrimp. We were served 6 different sauces, making for a fun evening of mixing and matching flavors. Potato were provided on the side, but even after a half hour in the pot they were still firm. Ending with chocolate crème pie fondue really topped everything off. The various desserts for dipping all paired well, and the waitress really pleased my wife when she lit a candle on a piece of pound cake for her birthday. I was very pleased with the service, it definitely met my expectations for the cost($$$$).

My brother-in-law and I decided to surprise my sister for her birthday(05⁄09) by taking her to The Melting Pot for dinner. Our reservations were for 7:00 and we were seated promptly by the hostess. Since we told the hostess that this was a special occasion, we had the option of including a «package» deal to our meal. My brother-in-law and I decided on getting my sister a box of chocolate-dipped strawberries, which was sitting on our table with a birthday card on top. It was sweet and thoughtful. This was my first time at a fondue restaurant, and I was curious to see what was available. It took a long time for us to settle on what we wanted to eat, and the menu was a little confusing in instructing us how to choose our courses. I decided to play it safe with the food and ordered the Seafood Trio with a Caprese salad, while my sister had the Land & Sea with a Caprese salad and my brother-in-law ordered the French Quarter with a Caesar salad. For our first course, we had the cheddar fondue with small pieces of artisan bread and raw vegetables. Our server, Robert, prepared the cheese fondue for us and was extremely friendly and helpful in explaining what to order and how to cook our food. He also made my day when he asked me to provide ID after I told him I wanted a lemon berry mojito. Thanks Robert! The food was very good, although I think Robert may have placed the burners on a low setting, as it took a while for the sesame and tempura batters that came with our meals to heat up. Fortunately, since my entrée came with pieces of salmon, ahi tuna, and shrimp, I didn’t have to wait too long for the food to reach the consistency I liked. My brother-in-law, sadly, was very impatient and kept taking out his beef long before it was close to medium-done. I enjoyed everything I had; the salmon tasted as if it was sushi-grade, and the tuna was encrusted with sesame seeds and had a tangy sweetness to it. The shrimp was. well, shrimp. Not much to say other than it was good and I ate it. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Cream Pie, which was heavenly. We dipped strawberries, marshmallows, banana slices, brownie bits, and pretty much everything else on our dessert trays into that glorious pot of melted goodness. The one downside to this place is the pricing on their menu. I get that The Melting Pot is unique and offers food to patrons in a way few American restaurants would prepare, but it just seems unnecessarily high. Nevertheless, I loved my first visit here and I would definitely come back for another special occasion.

The Melting Pot is a very fine restaurant which seems to be more about the unique experience than it’s actual food. While the salad, dessert and cheese dip are very flavorful, the entrée itself lacks a define taste and comes across particularly bland. The price is relatively expensive, however you will be full after the meal; and for the amount of enjoyment you get from cooking your own food, I’d say it’s just about worth it. Oh, and be prepared to spend about 2 – 3 hours there depending on the meal you get. Below is my meal and rating. Appetizer: — Fiesta Cheese Dip: this dip had a little kick to it and worked very well with the sides it came with.(4.5÷5) Salad: — California Salad: Very flavorful! However the blue cheese was a bit overpowering taking away from the other flavors within the salad.(4⁄5) — House Salad with Tangy House Dressing: Perfect! The tangy house dressing was very original and thoroughly enjoyable. Entrée: — Surf and Turf & Steak Lovers: Both very bland but come with many dipping sauces. The best part was the mushroom/cheese pasta bites. Dessert: — The Original: This chocolate peanut butter delicacy was mouth watering and extremely delicious. Highly recommended!

LOVEDIT! The spinach artichoke cheese fondue was amazing my boyfriend and I practically scraped the bowl clean. We did the four course meal which was definitely a lot of food but definitely worth it and everything was to perfection. Although it is quite expensive there is nothing wrong with the price if it’s for a special occasion. A word of advice, it takes a long time to get through the four courses, make sure you do not get there too late(8pm) or you’ll be there till closing
