This is my second time there! Good food, quick service. Just a bit expensive for the type of food. I would still recommend it.

Unpretentious, hidden gem. If I ever found myself in the area again, I would find myself here for tasty, new American, French-inspired fare. The atmosphere is very cozy and tastfully decorated. It’s in French bistro theme with appropriate tiles, quirky bar stools, high moulding accents, dim lights and ornate frames. The menu is very concise and I really like that. There’s no agonizing over what you want and it probably means they’re really good at what’s being offered as it’s 1 of twenty versus forty. My dining companion and I ordered the soup of the day(tomato basil), duck meatballs, sweet potato gnocchi, tamarind-rubbed short rib, and the KEYLIMEPIE. The soup had excellent flavor, but the texture was having an identity crisis. It wanted to be rich, but it was a bit watery. It wanted to be creamy, but it maintained some of the tomatoes’ chunkiness. I didn’t mind that the soup was this way and I understood why. The flavor was delicious, but even so, this thought occurred. The meatballs were good. When ordering, ask for the sauces on the side. We found the intricate duck flavor could easily be overshadowed by the sauce. The gnocchi’s lumpy texture with speckles of sweet potatoes was redeemed by the excellent accoutrements; whipped ricotta(?) cheese and garlic pesto. It doesn’t sound like it would work, but it all worked REALLY well. The sweetness from the gnocchi paired well with the savoriness of the cheese. The pesto broke up the love affair and turned it into a menage trois. Short rib was tender and served on a bed of braised(?) greens, and parsnip purée. The savoriness of the short rib went really nicely with the greens’ earthiness and parsnips’ sweetness. For me, it was borderline eh, but in perfect proportion was a welcome kick to my buds. GETTHEKEYLIMEPIE. End of story. Just perfect!!! They have many wines on the list, house cocktails and Dogfish Head beers. Speaking of which, this place tries to source locally(from a farm and Lancaster co-op) and the menu changes quarterly. Some other odds and ends… Service was genuine, personable and attentive. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Water is served in a bottle and left on the table so guests do not need to wait for a server. The women’s restroom was tidy.

Boyfriend took me here for a date Friday night and with a name like corner bistro I wasn’t expecting much. But once seated and we saw the décor and menu we changed our minds real quick. It’s a farm to fork concept kind of dining! Menus changing I guess daily or weekly. We got the cheese plate appetizer with 3 diff cheeses, pickled watermelon radish, candied peanuts, aged balsamic, olives, toasts and rosemary infused honey. Nothing was left!!! I got the coffee and molasses porkchop and he got the tamarin braised short rib. Food came out hot and delicious!!! We also split the key lime pie for dessert and it was soooo good!!! Wasn’t too heavy I didn’t feel guilty after inhaling it. Highly recommend getting it!!! Our server was so pleasant and attentive. And our check even came with warm white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. Atmosphere is very nice. We got a table against the wall so he sat in a chair and I sat on the wall bench they even had pillows on the seats attached to the wall. I cannon wait to go back to this place! Great food great service great atmosphere if I lived closer I would eat here every day.

Very impressed with this place. We came in for Sunday brunch. My sister has an allergy to dairy, and we told the server — he went to the back and brought us a menu with all of the non-dairy options checked. We really appreciated this, and the server definitely went above and beyond for us. The exterior is unassuming, but the interior is really nice. Generally impressed with the décor. The food was delicious. We had the beef, kale, and rice soup — the flavors went really well together. We paired that with a few standard brunch entrees like French toast and eggs, all of which were solid. The only negative is that the portions are small. Definitely recommend checking this place out though.

This place was legit. Atmosphere reminiscent of upscale gastro pub in Philly. Food this good is going to be tough to find in this area.

Ate at Corner Bistro for dinner on a weekday with colleagues. I would say not to judge this place by its location: tucked away in the corner of a nondescript strip mall. The place is somewhat of a hidden gem; the food was rather good and the service was quick and very friendly. This establishment follows a farm-to-table motif, and the quality of its ingredients is noticeable, particularly in the vegetable lasagna and house salad that I ordered. The lasagna was a bit spicier than I would have liked, and although normally a fan of spicy food, I rather lasagna be more on the mild and creamy side. I would highly recommend the key lime pie… possibly one of the best slices of pie I’ve ever had. Overall, I anticipate returning, especially since I heard that the menu changes often and there were a number of other items I wanted to try. My only reservation was that I felt the prices were a bit high, but justifiable given the great experience.

This is one of the best restaurants in Wilmington. The food is excellent and they have the best risotto I’ve ever eaten. The drinks are perfect and their wine list is extensive. They do a monthly chefs table and weekly ½ price wine nights. The bar is lively and the décor is beautiful! The desserts are Devine.

A most enjoyable discovery hidden away in a corner of an aging strip mall. Locally sourced products showcased in some very tasty menu items. Recent renovation gives a brand-new look to what is a 12 year-old venue. Great service. Try the cheeseburger and Key Lime pie.

We found this accidentally and had a terrific experience. Not what I would expect from a restaurant in a strip mall. They have a clear idea about what they want to do and they seem to succeed. Serious was as strong as the food.

Love this place. May be my favorite eatery in Wilmington. Local food prepared with a high level of attention to detail. As such the menu changes up frequently. You’re in for a new treat each time you go. Great selection of drinks/wine/beer. Not too much of a selection, but rather a hand picked, choice selection. Usually have some type of bistro special at lunch, half sammie/cup of soup type thing. Great happy hour specials. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable.

Being French, I am always intrigued by restaurants that claim to offer French cuisine or a French experience. In most cases they offer a caricature of French cuisine and atmosphere but here, I found they managed an interesting blend of French and American in a way that offers some of the best of each. Service was quite good, fast, attentive and non intrusive. I had the black bean soup as many recommended and it was lovely, intense in flavours but not burning spicy. That’s not a typical French dish but well worth it. Then I decided to see just how well the chef mastered one of my all time Alsatian favorites, the tarte flambée. In a few words, about as well as I have had this side of the ocean. There are many ways to mess up a tarte flambée — too thick, under cooked, not served piping hot out of the oven, too much onions, too much cream, under cooked pork belly etc… I am glad to report none of these atrocities took place — it was delicious. The dough was almost identical to the very best in Alsace, light and thin, and perfectly cooked. The pork belly was perfectly fried but not dry. Unfortunately this version did not include the small layer of Crême fraiche I tend to favour and had a little more onions instead(but no excess) — but at this point it is matters of preferences, nothing objectionable. The only reason for only 4 stars was actually the disappointing wine list. No French wine? Really? And what was offered was OK but certainly not best in class, and not close for $ 9/glass. I had the Petit Pinotage from SA and it was far from some of the best of breed I have had which busted with coffee flavours and earthy notes — this one was a pale rendition of a Pinot without much character — drinkable certainly but not a standout feature. They really need to fix that wine list ASAP, it is quite disappointing in light of the delicious food and the refine atmosphere offered otherwise.

This is one of the best restaurants in the Wilmington area. They have a relaxing atmosphere and very professional staff. I had the special, blacked shrimp over macaroni. The shrimp were prepared perfectly.

A delightful culinary experience from the time one enters the establishment. It’s not very Wilmington Delaware, much more New York City. Unbelievably creative entrees well presented in a venue that whispers ambiance. Ask for fillet rare and that’s what comes with a zucchini salsa and potato sliced thin and perfectly seasoned. It’s a place you deserve to experience.

We came here for a co worker’s going away party, there was about 19 of us. We were seating in the main dining area towards the back. For Appetizers we got: 1. Traditional Tarte Flambée Goat cheese, pork belly & caramelized shallots. $ 14– This was basically like a flatbread pizza with pork belly and goat cheese– I would recommend this! 2. House frites Perfectly seasoned shoestring fries with roasted garlic aioli. $ 6– nothing special, the sauce is pretty good thought. 3. Cheese plate– They gave us three types of cheese. I don’t think it is worth the 16 bucks. 5. Calamari– average but overpriced for $ 11 6. Herb goat cheese crostini Imported goat cheese and fresh herbs on baguette croutons drizzled with rosemary honey and crushed pine nuts. $ 10 — I enjoyed this, it’s a decent amount so make sure you have like 4 people to share. I love cheese so I enjoyed this super creamy goat cheese dipping sauce. For my entrée I got a salad and a meal(yes I’m greedy) 1. Hearts of romaine salad– It was not shredded so you have to cut it yourself. The dressing was pretty good, similar to a cross between ranch and blue cheese dressing. 2. salmon– It was super dry so I would not recommend this. The service was friendly. I think it’s a nice place to try if you work around Wilmington and need more options. It is north of downtown Wilmington so like 20 min. I think for the prices the food could have been better.

Really neat place in North Wilmington. It’s always refreshing to find a place where the staff and chefs truly care about what they’re putting out of the kitchen. I personally enjoy how they have a different risotto each day if you’re around the way I highly suggest giving this place a try. Cheers,

This was a delicious meal. I went with my Bey(Mommy), The Dude(Daddy), GBey(Grandma), and PopZ(Grandpa.) I started with the warm goat cheese crostini. I thought it was mmmm, pooh bear approved, and gahlicious. I also really liked Bey’s short rib sandwich & fries. The dude got the express lunch. He said it was delicious. GBey and PopZ never talked through their entire meal so I guess theirs was nummy. I definitely think that other two year olds could eat here — especially if you tell them they can have macadamia nut cookies at the end.

So I’ve worked across the street from this shopping center for over a year now, and I’ve only just tried Corner Bistro last week. WHATHAVE I BEENDOING?! What a great little place to bring clients or to grab a quick takeout order for a nice lunch that doesn’t come in a bag! I got the short rib sandwich and it almost made me cry it was so good. Messy, so I had to eat it in pieces, but GOOD. Everyone else really enjoyed their food as well. My boss has since gone back(took a client) and he got the BLT, which he raved about. Our service was very good and the décor of the restaurant is adorable. I really loved it. I’ll definitely be back!

I cannot say enough good things about Corner Bistro. I had a really hard time finding a rehearsal dinner location in the Wilmington area that had the quality of food and right atmosphere that I come to expect from restaurants in Philadelphia. When I found it, they didn’t do Friday night events for big parties. Corner Bistro doesn’t advertise the fact that they can cater bigger events, but they should… because it was absolutely amazing. 1. The location. I got married at the Carriage House at Rockwood Park, but I live in Philadelphia. My wedding party was staying at the DoubleTree. This restaurant is 2 minutes from the DoubleTree and 10 minutes from the Carriage House. The perfect location. I wanted to come here in the first place after realizing how freaking cute the restaurant was, and if you have a smaller party you could do that and you’d be so happy. I had a bigger party, and I wanted some privacy… In comes«The Grange». They have this historic beautiful old house that they can host events catered by their kitchen in. Plus because it’s not their restaurant, you can BYOB because they don’t have a liquor license for the house. 2. The food. Hands down amazing. Just so good. And reasonably priced. I had the tuna tartare(my wife’s favorite), lamb chops(my personal favorite), crispy shrimp for appetizers. My guests thought that was the dinner because they were so happy and full. But then we had a salad which was just perfect. We split our entrees between the short ribs(so so so so so good) and the salmon(also great) with some potatoes. And because we couldn’t resist dessert, budino and key lime pie. It was completely split on the party which their favorite was. 3. Going the extra mile… they decorated the room. I didn’t pay for this, and didn’t even ask for it… but they did it. They created this romantic dim lighting with babys breath mason jars and burlap table runner. It couldn’t have come out better if I described and created exactly what I wanted myself.

Went here a few months back based on Unilocal reviews. The French onion soup was by far the best I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The steak frites was unbelievably delicious. The service was very friendly. Prices were very reasonable. Only negative is it is in a city I don’t live near!

One more visit, one less star… A second visit to Corner Bistro featured a less-than-stellar server who became defensive when we asked to send back something to be cooked a bit more because we ordered it a particular way(but, at least he was able to count the correct number of patrons in our party when he brought out the bread). And the food was also a bit less stellar this time except for some really fabulous crab ravioli. Helpful tip for prospective diners: You may want to ask to be seated in the main dining room. If you are seated outside the bar area you become privy to endless gossipy conversations amongst wait staff, as this is the place they hang out. While a little chitchat is fine with me, listening to your personal foibles nonstop during my meal gets a bit old.
