Catch 202

I thought this place was great, and I think I found my new favorite buffalo chicken sandwich.
I had never heard of this place, but we had a gift certificate so we went. They had Troeg’s Nugget Nectar on tap (as well as a lot of other good choices), the staff were extremely nice, and, although I’m no foodie, I thought the food was really good.
We got crab dip which was awesome, my wife got a shrimp salad with this southwestern dressing which was awesome enough that I used it as a dip for my fries.
Most importantly, I had been looking for a replacement buffalo chicken sandwich to replace a previous favorite that I can’t get anymore, and after a couple of years I think I found it.
We’ll definitely go back. I like this place enough that this is my first Unilocal review, and I’m only doing it because there wasn’t that many customers at this place and I don’t want it to go out of business. It’s a big place and also has two pool tables, which I also like.

I’m assuming it was happy hour; with all the people surrounding the bar using Very Loud and Very Excessive Foul Vulgar Language. We were not greeted upon entering, We sat ourselves but at least The Food was good!~

I have been wanting to try this place for years, but now disappointed by the anticipation.
When we got there, only two other customers. Service was very slow and not consistent.
Started to pick up after a while.
The good:
The food was very tasty and nice size portions.
The crab and spinach dip has a great flavor.
The décor really looks comfortable and inviting.
The bad (s):
Bathroom stench did not get out of my sinuses for hours.
The service was really slow.
The entrees were served cold.
One person in our party had to wait 15 minutes after everyone else got their food. (we only had 4 people)

The food was good but the service was terrible. The entire staff had a bad attitude. I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone.

Decent food. Attentive service. Needs a good cleaning and overhaul of décor (I know you are located conveniently across the street from a Kohl’s, but you do not have to buy out their home décor section).

SUCKED is an understatement. CHECK YOU BILL CAREFULLY!
There were about 16 of us. We wanted to hang out, get a bite to eat, play some pool. We all meet up at Catch 202.
I personally can NOT eat peppers so I always read the menu looking what is my food. No mention of peppers any where. Actually no mention of ingredients any where. So I order pasta, that should be safe. NOPE! People have allergies, your menu should clearly state out ingredients for those of us looking to avoid having to send food back. My husband ordered a cheese steak, it was fine. I explained to the server that I can not have peppers She apologized and took the dish the away. I order chicken tenders it comes with ff. I don’t know what arrived but it was NOT like any chicken tender I have ever had. But I am hungry, I am not going to do this a third time. So I shut and eat. The FF were really greasy. The BBQ tasted like a mix of hot sauce and ketchup, not actually BBQ sauce. So I just had ketchup.
My friend ordered one of the burgers, with the egg on top. His food FINALLY comes, the egg is cooked so well done there is no yoke, it was ruby. He was going to suffer through till he bit the burger and it was RAW. he sent his back.
No one else even bothered to order food. Just some appetizers.
It is really sad the food is so bad. We were hoping to make this one of our quarterly pit stops. The juke box has a pretty good selections of songs, plenty of parking, alcohol is a little pricy, but ok, there is pool tables, the ladies room is pretty clean.
Fix 1: Then the bigger issue of the night. Looking over the bill, my husband sees we were charged for both dishes. The one I sent back, and the replacement. The server apologizes and takes it away to fix it.
Fix 2: She returns and hands it to him, he then notices the appetizer we ordered was charged at full price (which is WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR HOW BAD IT WAS). But on the menu this is the appetizer of the night. He points that out. O she says, that is not on special. Yes it is, says my husband, it states it on the menu. She apologizes and takes the bill away again to fix it.
FIX 3: She hands the bill AGAIN. He says, wait you charged me for 2 ice teas. She says you had 2. He said, I ordered an ice tea and got a refill. She says, it does not come with free refills. AGAIN he says, according to the menu it does.
What a mess. Dealing with all these mistakes, issues, left a bad taste in our mouths. It turned what could have been a great night out with friends into a fiasco. They tried to rip us off, over charge us, serve us crappy food.
Dear Catch 202 we will not be returning. You really need better management and more trust worthy approach to doing business. I can’t even imagine how many people you have ripped off with these billing practices.

Great food and service was great! It was nice meeting the friendly management. The place looked very clean as well! We will come back for sure. Be sure to try their tasty appetizers!

Not sure what’s happened the last few months, but tonight was the last time I’ll be coming to catch 202. It seems every time I’ve came for within the past two months they’ve basically started their greeting with, «just so you know we’re out of…». Tonight however was even worse… We arrived at 11:15 (they close at 1) and sat at the bar. The bartender comes over says hi asked if we wanted some drinks, and I requested a menu. She turns around to grab something out of the fridge behind her (which I’m assuming is connected to the kitchen somehow) someone from the kitchen said something and she abruptly says oh Nvm im sorry we’re closed. So I asked what time do you normally close, she said they close at 1 but there’s no one there so they’re closing. There were about 6 other ppl at the bar and I know I’ve ate there with way less than that present. I’m not sure what’s going on but I’m disappointed. I worked in the restaurant business for years and I’ve never heard of such a thing. Especially when customers are still eating and new ones arrive. I will never go back, and to the manager I hope you address this soon. From the looks of the recent reviews I’m not the only one who’s sorely disappointed.

Food was good.
Service was decent.
Bill being $ 20, and waking up on Monday morning and seeing that $ 50 was withdrawn from my account, then being given the run around trying to get a refund, not so much…

Seriously insane. Crabcakes were all filler and the size of a McDonalds burger. The bar tender kept coming to our table all creepily, then brought me the wrong drink twice. I guess they have new management. The breakfast burger was pretty good. But next time I go there, I’m bringing my own crabby patties. Also, the name Catch 202 could be better. Like… The Krusty Catch. JK the hostess was super sweet and they did their best. I have to go now. TTYL

For my mother’s birthday, I bought Catch’s coupon on Groupon and called that same day, 2 weeks ahead of time, to make the reservation. I made sure they knew about the Groupon and asked for my mother and I to be seated by a window. I called again days before arriving and was still assured all was okay.
We showed up a little early and were immediately skeptical: handicapped access was a pain in the ass, and even though she knew of the reservation and request, the otherwise sweet Hostess put us at a table that was dirty with seats that also were dirty.
But the kicker was being informed that the Prix Fixe menu for us HAD NOT YET BEEN PRINTED and, best yet, was on the computer in the LOCKED Mgr’s office. After a HALF HOUR of watching the dyed and disinterested Manager walk past us to refresh her drink, never ever even coming over to greet us or give the apology we completely deserved, we figured that Catch must be doing just fine without any new business. Ours, anyway.

We bought the groupon offered and went here after a long day just to get a drink and a quick bite.
Upon walking in we were greeted by a hostess and a huge blast of hot air! The AC was clearly broke (or off).
The décor and bar design is really nice and inviting. Looks newly renovated. Unfortunately.
The staff was very polite yet extremely amateur. The hostess and her friend/​waitress sat at a bar table near us making it uncomfy. Every beer I ordered they were out of. Some of the food was 86ed too. There were a few tables but no one was sticking around.
It seemed like they place was under developed, cutting corners and the overall experience suffered. We might be back for a beer, if they have any left.

Went there last night with 3 others. Waitress started off with saying, «we are out of a lot» and was very apologetic. Couldn’t get any of our first selections of beers. No Dogfish 60, Blue Moon, etc. Was told manager was on vacation and didn’t order food. Ordered apps and they were good. Saturday night is «pork night» and no ribs, pulled pork. Was told what they had and placed orders. Crab cakes were missing crab, chicken Chesapeake had crab, burger and fish tacos were all marginal. My 2^nd EVO Lot 3 came in a snifter glass versus previous in a pint glass. Was told that the first was a mistake.
I do not look for this place to stay around too long. I won’t be back

Ok… First time here, server says we have no chicken, no shrimp, no steak…
Ok give me a mojito… server, um, we don’t have any mint…
What a great first impression!
Ordered crab cakes… we will see how that goes!

I’m only writing a review for the food since we ordered delivery from them via Takeout Taxi. (Takeout Taxi ROCKS… «totde dot com», yo.)
The food was super-​tasty. I got a chicken and grilled apple salad which was really great; not a questionable leaf in there at all, and the chicken was juicy and grilled perfectly. We also got some hot dishes which traveled well. Lastly we got a sandwish to eat on a road trip the next day, and it was really solid. Everything was packed well for takeout, though the greenie in me wishes they didn’t use styrofoam containers… but whatevz.
We’re happy to have this place in the Takeout Taxi arsenal.

Loved the Salmon salad. The crab stuffed mushrooms were good as well. Also they have a real nice waitress by the name of Jamie.
Also be sure to try a drink named the Dream Catcher, and tell the bartender what you think.

The service was wonderful and everyone seemed really nice… Our waiter was great. It might be a good place to just go for some drinks. But I don’t know who wrote all these good reviews about the food.
I’m not usually compelled to write anything too negative; everyone has different taste. But nothing we ordered was appetizing at all, and the prices weren’t cheap. Especially considering I left and had to grab something else to eat on the way home. :/​Just want to warn others to take these positive reviews with a grain of salt. We were really surprised and won’t be going back after a disappointing dinner.

We tried this restaurant bc we had gone to Scrimmages before and realized it was under new ownership. Someone said they were trying to distance themselves from the «shitty food rep» scrimmages had…
What a waste, we sat down and got drinks & the chicken nachos. The nachos were the worst microwaved garbage I have ever had. I got drunk one night & made better nachos. Dry chips, hardly any cheese, and dry dry chicken, all for only 10 $. The service stunk, I had to get up to ask for utensils, water, and my check… save your $$

Bottom line: We had great service and the burgers were great.
Went here with a party of 6. It was a little slow and Pierre was our server. He was fast and attentive and was enjoyable. Ask for him if you get the chance. One of us did the Carnivore Challenge and it was HUGE! The GM, Michael, came out and chatted with us and was super friendly as well. Great customer service experience for us.
The regular carnivore burger, patty melt, and tots (get the tots!) were all phenomenal. The carnivore had a great combo of different flavors that went together perfectly. My personal recommendation. The fish tacos were a little bland but still decent.
I completely recommend this place and we will be back for sure.
