How many roast beef/pizza places does one town need? I had just about given up on the Wilmington food scene and then we tried Tremezzo. On a whim we pulled in on the way home from work. So glad we did. We started out with the mussels and wood fired toasted bread to soak up a delicious white sauce. Hubby had the veal parm with angel hair and I had the salmon with asparagus. The bar mixes a good cocktail and the desserts were very nice.

We’ve been here twice this week, and had great experiences both time. The first time we ate at the bar and enjoyed the company of the friendly bartender. Next we came back and sat at a table with our family. Our waiter was great — and super patient — and the food was yummy. We will definitely keep coming back!

Expensive, short drinks. Drowned the Caesar salad. Meal was bland. Local hangout. Not worth the hour wait.

Warning: DONOTUSE OpenTable or Unilocal Reservations to get this placed booked. On Valentine’s Day, we were told when we walked in that they did not have our reservation. Earlier in the day, I received an email confirmation/reminder of the reservation but it appears it never«went through» on the restaurant’s side. They should probably prohibit online reservations. The music that night was decent. Pretty good food. We took home doggy bags, so that’s a good sign. It didn’t seem as romantic as the place that was there previously(Focaccia?). There were guys there with their valentines in jeans and t-shirts. It made me feel like I’d dressed up for no reason. The prices didn’t match the atmosphere that night.

I went in to check out this restaurant for a function I am planning. My fiancée and I first stopped to have a drink at the bar. When I told the bartender Bil(all of 5′ tall — little man with Nepolean complex) he made my drink incorrectly, he went ballistic, told me I’m sure you would make it better and then called me profanities and told me to get the f-out! Of course my fiancé had already went to seek out the manager at the first insult from Bill and he wasn’t around when he used profanities or it wouldn’t have ended well for LITTLEBILLYBOY — none the less, I would never step foot in that place ever again!!! Just got a call from the owner who says he doesn’t believe me!!! I asked him if he had a video footage in the area I was in and he said yes. I told him to watch the video and then he can call me for the apology!!! Rude people! Whatever happened to the customer is always right?! Which I was 100% in this instant!!! If you’re looking for a GREATITALIANMEALWITHIMPECIBLESERVICEPLEASEGOTOLUNAROSA — RIGHTDOWNTHESTREET! You won’t be disappointed!!! Lmao! Okay well it’s quite obvious who got called names IFYOUWATCHEDTHEVIDEO! Don’t worry I’ve already told you I’d never step foot in there again /as well as EVERYONE I KNOW! This review is based on takeout only — Chicken saltimbocca — Not good. It was chicken kabobs mixed in with linguini with peices of mozzarella thrown in with it on the side and then prices of prosciutto just thrown on top. Don’t get. Veal Saltimbocca — Not good. Read above. Chicken Parm — Good. Never had a bad chicken parm this one was fine. Lemon chicken — not good. Apps — brushetta– Not good. It was bread in sauce. Shrimp Gran Mariner– good. Take out food can be a different experience then dining in for sure. I’ve just never seen chicken kabobs and veal kabobs served as advertised as saltimbocca, and with a price of $ 18 and $ 21 each. I’m going to give this place one more shot and dine in next time and see what the deal is. I’ll update my 2 stars accordingly if better/worse.

Really great service and really really good food. I have always driven past this place and never went in and I am kicking myself for it. Great menu and great specials. I had the gnocchi special which can with perfectly cooked haddock, calamari and scallops. I cannot wait to come back!

My husband and I were able to get out for a very rare date night. The hostess advised us that they generally do not see«same» day reservations made with open table and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for a table . The waiter(who never told us his name) was really very busy socializing with friends and regulars. He did not make us feel welcome. He brought our drinks and informed me that they didn’t have any more wine glasses and since he didn’t want me to wait, he brought the wine in a glass jar and gave me a small glass to use. When he did return with my wine glass –fresh from the dishwasher –dripping water and all. he told me that the blue paint all over my glass was from the«Paint Nite» event from the night before and that the glass wasn’t really dirty. I was so shocked by it all. I can’t believe that they wouldn’t take the time to properly clean the glasses and wipe them down from the dishwasher before serving a customer. We considered leaving after the appetizer, but since the calamari was very good, we stayed for the entrées — I had the lobster ravioli which was also very good and my husband had chicken ziti and broccoli which was just okay. We left after that without another word from our waiter. The restaurant is incredibly noisy and the staff seems very unorganized. It was just not a good place for a date night and we were so disappointed. We went to another restaurant for dessert and had such a great experience that our night ended on a high note. We do not plan to go to Tremezzo’s again. We have so few nights out and there are so many restaurant options that we will be making a better choice next time.

Looking for a local Italian restaurant we haven’t tried so consulted Unilocal… what a great find. We(hubby and I) called about 20 minutes before 6 p on a Saturday night and the lovely receptionist said she could put us on the call ahead list. We arrived around 6:05 p and waited a few minutes for the hostess to return to the station. She quoted us a 10 – 15 minute wait and it was barely a 5 minute wait before we were called. We were seated at a table in the corner and though it was very busy, it was not very loud at all. Our waiter Thiago came over immediately with menus and water. Then returned shortly with warm focaccia bread which most reviewers raved about… they were right. We had to restrain ourselves from eating it all! Ordered the Melanzana Fritta(fried eggplant layers, ricotta, garlicky tomatoes) as a starter. It arrived within 5 minutes, beautifully plated and oozing with ricotta with a balsamic glaze. Tho I prefer thinly sliced eggplant, it was still very good. Fried, but not greasy. For entrees, we split the gnocchi special and chicken Marsala. The gnocchi dish was piping hot in a sweet tomato sauce with melt in your mouth veal medallions and peas. The chicken Marsala tenders were tossed with mushrooms and linguini. Both were excellent! Although we were stuffed, we couldn’t pass up the Unilocal checkin offer of a dessert for $ 5 so we split the crème brûlée with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry. Food: excellent! Can’t wait to try other dishes. Service: friendly and excellent! Our water glasses never went empty and even though Thiago was busy, he was never rushed and could not be more helpful and pleasant. Cost: very reasonable for the service and quality. $ 58 excluding tip. We immediately shared our great experience with a half dozen friends the next day. We’ll be back!

Good Italian food at a decent price. I had the white sauce mussels ap, a tremezzo martini, and a house special gnocchi with shrimp scallop and calamari. Mussels were ok– good but I was not overly in love with them. The drink was very tasty like a lemon drop with basil. The specialty gnocchi was also very tasty. Huge portions with a ton of seafood. Everything was tasty. Nothing was overly exciting though. Prices were very good. I had a certificate for 50 off 100 but we did not get close. For two people apps drinks and dinner we didn’t even hit $ 75. I guess I’ll have to go back for to use the coupon.

Just finished a delicious dinner here with my aunt and cousin. It’s Friday night, about 7:15 when we walked in, dining and bar areas were both very full. Now I know why! The breakdown: We were seated within ten minutes or so — check plus. The menu isn’t super extensive, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Apps: Ordered their fried calamari, which came out very quick and was piping hot — check plus again. Love that their batter is light and crispy and that the entire dish is served with cherry peppers and field greens. Comes with lemon wedges and tartar sauce, so if you like your calamari with red sauce, just make sure you ask. Not the most outstanding calamari I’ve ever had, but it came close. Very, very good. Dinner: They had lots of great specials, from soup to chicken to seafood to pasta. My auntie ordered their swordfish special with pasta puttanesca and it looked and smelled amazing. She enjoyed it! My cousin ordered the mussels in white sauce. Again, delicious. I went for the chicken parm, with broccoli and string beans instead of pasta. Normally I’m much more adventurous, but I was in the mood for my favorite staple, and omg, such a great choice! The cutlet was HUGE, crispy, and not oily like in some places. The red sauce passed my test for sure! I’m fussy cause I’m spoiled with a handed-down, tried and true family sauce, but I really enjoyed it. Plenty of melty cheese. Extremely generous portions all across the board! Dessert: Cannoli trio, crème brûlée, tiramisu, black coffee. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but all three were great, especially the crème brûlée! Definitely would recommend. Our server, Dominic, was super friendly and attentive. He was clearly very busy but came back to check on us and refill our waters several times. I would definitely recommend Tremezzo if you are in the area and looking for an exceptional Italian meal that won’t break the bank! Will be back soon!

Heard good things so we got take out last night. Pro’s: Mushroom Tortellini was superb. Sauce was flavorful and hearty. Bolognese had a great sauce with plenty of meat. Pasta was a little too al dente for our taste. Would still get again though. Spaghetti sauce was a little too sweet for us, but the 4 giant meatballs were an added surprise! Focaccia bread was yummy and I bet even better when eaten at the restaurant(assuming it’s brought out to the table warm with EVOO and parm). Con’s: parking was difficult to find. Overall: Great! Will be back!

We went there for the first time last night. The service was efficient, and pleasant, and the food was delicious. I had the veal marsala and instead of the linguini, I requested asparagus instead. that was absolutely no problem. To start, I got the goat cheese and beet salad with arugula — it was perfectly dressed, and that goat cheese! It has a warm crusty coating that added texture and flavor to the creamy cheese. It paired perfectly with the generous portion of arugula and the beets. The veal marsala was absolutely delicious. The veal medallions were tender and seasoned perfectly. There was a generous portion of mushrooms and the sauce was fantastic. seasoned well, and deeply flavored, I had to sop it up with the delicious seasoned bread from the basket. My companions each had the veal parmesan with liniguini. Here is where they faltered — they brought out chicken parmesan. But the waitress came over to asknowledge the faux pas, and said they were correcting it immediately and she would put the chicken parms into take out for us to bring home. They didn’t want my companions to not have any food while I had my dish, so they munched on the linguini, and very quickly, two new plates with the correct veal cutlets were brought out. I have eaten at other restaurants where they made a mistake with an order, and they took it away while they corrected it, and left me or my dinner companions without anything to eat. They certainly didn’t offer the incorrect food for free. All in all, they handled their error with grace and efficiency, and we were all happy with out meals. The Veal parmesan was just as tender(and a generous portion as well) as my Veal Marsala and the red sauce was as good as I have had anywhere. This is going to be our new«hidden gem» close by. I am looking forward to trying out other menu items.

My husband and I have been twice to get the Chicken Saltimbocca and we love it. The traditional way we have had it at other restaurants is that the meat and cheese are layered over the pasta, but here it is all chopped and mixed and the cheese is all melty and AMAZING. I like a glass of Malbec, and the amount poured here is nice compared to some restaurants where it is almost nothing. Friendly staff both times. This is one of our new favorite places.

My husband and I were fans of Foccacia’s and were sad to see it suddenly close. Then, it became Tremezzo. We decided to try it after reading many complimentary reviews. We were seated right away and our attentive server took our drink/appetizer orders quickly. We like to look at the menu beforehand, but as soon as I saw the big brick oven, I knew I wanted pizza. They have a great kid menu that helped with the picky eight year old-the first time she liked everything on the menu. The calamari app was amazing-the fried squid melted in my mouth-no chewiness here, as you would see with frozen product. My Afumicatti pizza was delicious and could easily feed two people-roasted eggplant, smoky mozzarella, fresh, fragrant basil. One of my fav pizzas for sure. And growing up with homemade Sicilian pizza-yes, it’s that good. My husband had veal saltimbocca-I had a bite and the veal melted in my mouth. The prosciutto was perfect-the good stuff. My daughter’s cheese pizza was huge for six dollars and she ate most of it. That, a drink and a gelato for six dollars-great price for a lot of food. And, the best for last. The cappuccino and tiramisu. Divine. And the dessert was HUGE for seven dollars-you can definitely share. I could not finish it-and I ate only half of my pizza-it was great and beautifully presented. Definitely would return.

Cursed by success? Excited to be getting our group of six local couples together, we debated the destination, agreed on Tremezzo, and booked a reservation a month in advance. A polite call was received on the afternoon of to confirm our plans. As our party arrived, we advised the hostess who said our table was being set up. When our full party was ready, we asked again and were told it would just be a moment. Ten minutes later we were offered a seat in the banquet room which we disappointingly said would be fine. Ten minutes later we were told our table in the dining area was almost ready. Thirty minutes after our reservation time, we were seated in the noisy bar area. We must compliment the maître d’ for recognizing the delay and setting our table with some nice appetizers to compensate. Fried Calamari included peppers and was wonderfully tender and not at all greasy, though the lemon-pepper aioli was a bit bland. The Salumi e Formaggi Misti was a pleasing antipasto with a variety of flavors. We were presented with one menu for the table(that was all that was available) and placed a drink order. Our first round arrived a full hour after our reservation time. We placed our meal orders 25 minutes later, and, a pleasingly short 20 minutes after that, our meals arrived. Served by the chef-owner and a team of runners, things were turning up. Several pizzas arrived with nicely crisped crusts and an appetizing appearance. They were eagerly consumed and enjoyed. Freshly grated cheese was offered with carefully plated entrees. I enjoyed a wonderfully seasoned Steak Tip Pasta with garlic, tomatoes, rosemary, feta cheese, olives, and penne — a nice twist on a traditional mix. The Orecchiette was well received as was a swordfish special, a creamy lobster ravioli, and the Chicken Parmigiano. The risotto special was well prepared, although the advertised scallops to accompany were depleted and replaced with shrimp. As we relaxed our hunger and savored our much anticipated entrees, the band began to play bringing conversation to an abrupt finish. We decided to forgo the anticipated desserts and made our exit. Shame on us for booking a large group at a busy restaurant on a Saturday night? Shame on Tremezzo for tainting a wonderful food experience with a poor front-of-the-house operation.
