So this is my first time writing a Unilocal review, and I haven’t even left the restaurant, but I feel compelled to post this right now. This place is excellent!!! The service was wonderful, the place was clean, but most importantly we need to discuss the eggplant and basil with beef. The eggplant melted in my mouth, the beef was lean and tender, and the sauce was over the top. My boyfriend got green curry and we added extra veggies with the chicken(only $ 2 more). Curry was on point too. Overall, this place is amazing. I just moved to this area of town, and I will be bringing all family and friends here(plus we might be back for lunch on Monday — great menu and all entrees are $ 8 at lunch).

Just up the road from Figure 8 Island and a great spot for sushi! I AMADDICTED to the Larb Gai appetizer and fresh spring rolls. Makes for a great low calorie but scrumptious dinner! Highly recommended!

Exceptional Asian Fusion, sushi and sashimi. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai, chicken curry, pork fried rice and vegetable pad thai. The sashimi and sushi are some of the best around town. The restaurant was very busy but had our order ready in under 20 minutes. Everything was great and reasonable without too much spice. Fifth visit here and food is consistently tasty.

This place is very close to where I live so I get take out often. It’s very fusion, just like a lot of Asian in this area is, so you won’t find anything truly authentic. The sushi rolls are heavy on the rice so I tend to get the sashimi instead. They have a great deal on sashimi plates. I almost always get the spicy drunken noodle, which is delicious and absolutely not good for you. It also does not reheat well so you have to gobble down as much as you can while it’s still piping hot. The curries are good too and comparable to Indochine.

We love the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew better here than anywhere in town(and we have tried them all!). The sushi is also awesome. They have gluten free options, the gluten free clear noodles are amazing(Pad Woonsen). We have had a variety of other items from the menu as well and they’ve al been delicious. Our favorite restaurant in town, hands down!

I love this place. Their sushi and sashimi are wonderful. Try any of the rolls nature style for $ 1.00 more. The Thai food is excellent, too! I love the spicy crab salad and seaweed salad. Great place!

I give Umaii one star not because it wasn’t delicious but because I went on a date there and we arrived at 9:00 and called ahead to make sure the time was ok. My date is a police officer and didn’t get off his shift in time for us to go earlier. We were rushed through our dinner keep in mind we called to make sure it was ok to come this late. When we were paying out check which was again rushed to us we started hearing an argument between an employee and and what seemed to be the owner and they were screaming F this and F that at each other it was offensive and we felt Very uncomfortable it was completely insane!

The sushi is delicious, a lot of fish and large rolls. The coconut chicken soup is excellent and very fresh. I always order the salmon hand rolls, it is consistently fresh.

Excellent Pad Ka Prow. Excellent service. Worth the quick drive out of the city. Also had the sashimi as an app and the yellowtail was phenomenal. Absolutely recommended them. Also, they normally flash fry their tofu but they will steam it upon request.

A friend recommended we meet here for our date night. Our server was fabulous, not overbearing but there when we needed her. She understood we were there to catch up and never made us feel rushed. I started with a margarita with a sugar rim, which was delicious, though perhaps a bit weak. My friend ordered the cosmo — first one wasn’t quite right but after asking them to tweak it a bit the rest were fabulous. I went with the shrimp tempura roll and a spicy tuna roll. I usually LOVE tempura rolls but was very disappointed with this one. The flavors were alright but whoever made the roll made it unnecessarily large — too big to eat in a reasonable bite.(Picture included.) on the flip side, I absolutely loved the spicy tuna roll so I think they just need to work on their consistency. My friend went with the pad thai and loves it. And it’s a huge portion so it can be lunch the next day too. Overall, the flavors were good and service was great so I would give them another shot anyday.

I have been coming here regularly since they opened. The food is consistently good and fresh. Hot items are served hot, and the sushi is great. The prices are right, and lunch is reasonable and excellent. The menu is focused, offering a good variety without being too much. The service has become consistently good too. We are so glad to have great Asian food in Porters Neck. As a picky foodie and Californian, I recommend it.

My mom and I visited for lunch and were underwhelmed. To begin with the entire wall length banquette/booth seat had tiny dried paint splotches all over it. Our food was ok but not awesome. We started with the chicken satay which was crunchy and bland. The Pad Thai which I asked for with a bit of spice(they didn’t seem to have the 1 – 5 rating most Thai places do) tasted on but had no spice at all. And lastly the fried rice tasted like it had no seasoning at all. None of it was bad and all the chicken was white meat but I could have made better at home.

So we were there for the first time today. Needless to say we were unsure as to what to order. We did decide on a sushi appetizer which was good but not great. As for entrees, we solicited suggestions from our server. Based on that we ordered the«Drunken Noodles» and the Red Curry Duck. And both were absolutely fantastic. So was the blueberry coconut cake for dessert. This visit definitely calls for a repeat. Only thing that was a bit out of sorts was that we got(to go) Packets of low sodium soy sauce.

Came in early for dinner and was the only car in the parking lot. As our food starts coming out so did the diners. The staff was friendly and food came out quick and fresh. The appetizers and papaya salad were all very tasty. The red curry entrée was will prepared with just enough spice and coconut flavor. It’s still a fairly new restaurant so go give them a try.

Went on a Friday night and the staff was completely overwhelmed. After 10 minutes we were finally helped and got a seat outside. Ordered several sushi rolls, tuna tataki, and the pad thai. The tuna tataki came out first and had a weird after taste and was cut in a weird manner — uneven, hacked cuts that looked like someone drank for a few hours then decided to go cut up a fish they caught on the beach. The chunks that resulted from the drunken escapade resembled the tuna we were served. It was also spiced with chili flakes. I do not like hot items and would have appreciated if this had been noted on the menu. Ater this we had the sushi rolls. It looked like bring your kid to work day. The rolls were made with old rice and were mangled up like a child’s play dough experiment. Some pieces of sushi had a small sliver of fished, other were jammed with fish and avocado. No consistency. And again… old rice!(wtf mate) Finally we had the pad thai. This was the best thing we were served, but it was middle of the road pad thai at best. I really wanted to like this place. It’s close to my house, in a cool shopping center, and looks hip, but was not happy. With multiple other(far better) sushi/thai places in WIlmington I recommend you try another restaurant.

Great new place in Porters Neck! They had an excellent variety of rolls and plates to chose from and not to mention a very helpful staff. As for the sushi everything I tasted was fresh, unique, and served in great portions. Ask to be seated in Esther’s section she was helpful and hilarious. If you’re looking for a new hip place to try something different this is your place!
