Waffle House Monkey Junction

I’ve wanted to try a Waffle House and wasn’t disappointed. The Monkey Junction Waffle House is a small, fast service place. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The All Star Special with Coffee for $ 9.78 was a good deal and more than I could finish. I’ll be back to try their other items.

Anytime you are in the mood for country ham and eggs and for a quickie, then go there. Food good and quick services. Waffle House is a greasy joint that serve food fast. Good prices. The french silk pie is great. Less than 2 $.

We live close by and every now and then I have a craving for their hash browns. I get them scattered, covered, and smothered and extra crispy and they hit the spot. I usually get a small orange juice and I enjoy the sweet coldness of it. The staff are always friendly and service is fast. My husband loves their country ham, eggs, and toast with crispy hashbrowns. It’s not fancy; it’s just tasty, heavy comfort food at a reasonable price.

This place has gone completely to the shit house. Their food preparation and cooks are just horrible. They can just cook what is called to them, they make what they want and how they want to eat it. The waitresses just don’t pay attention at all so they can’t get orders right. So when you have to correct them they get a huge attitude and stop waiting on your table. Oh but they expect their damn tips for sure and they don’t deserve it. Completely disappointed!!!

If you have a late night and are looking for drunk food go for it during the day is probably OK as well. Staff is generally helpful and welcome. Food is quite greasy as would be expected so if you’re a health conscious person I would probably say you have better options… but over all the food is good and priced very fairly

It’s cheap, fast, and with really great food. My go to thing no matter what is a bacon chicken cheese grilled chicken sandwich. It’s seriously the best chicken ever. It’s moist, flavorful, and just soo good! Hash browns are great sometimes can be only the oily side but it’s still good.

I travel about 75% of the year for my job. I love eating in Waffle houses. But at this one I had a bad experience. The host was great. He got me seated at the bar. I know on the weekends it is busy, but after the waitress got my order it went down hill there. I ordered coffee with cream & sweetner. Got the coffee/​cream took at least 3min for my sweetner and I had to ask for it again before I got it. For my meal I ordered the All Star breakfast with grits and a blueberry waffle. The waffle was was done and the person that was doing waffles yell out a couple of times. I had to ask another waitress to pass the waffle to me before it got cold. When the rest of the all star breakfast came and I really wanted grits. The grits was lumpy and looked old. It seem like it was a problem when I refused the grits and asked for hash brown potatoes. Well after all that I lost taste for my breakfast. I ask the waitress for a box to carry the remainder of my meal. It took her another 5 min to bring the box. I got up left to pay my bill and as I was at the register than she bring a box well, I didn’t want the meal at that point. After all that I still left her a $ 2 tip. They need to get more organized and have more than one waitress working the front tables and bars on weekends especially when there is rush hour. It really has turn me away from waffle house. And I will never go back to this one…

Pleasantly surprised by this Waffle House. My grandmother and I visited here because it was one of my grandfather’s favorite restaurant options and it just kinda felt… nostalgic. It’s a Waffle House though, so we weren’t expecting much.
That said, this place was pretty enjoyable. The waitress we had was super sweet and friendly, the kitchen staff was consistently cleaning floors, counters, and whatever else during our time in the restaurant, and the service was prompt. Then there’s the obligatory note of how the prices are pretty cheap. As far as cheap food goes? I was admittedly more impressed with this Waffle House location and the service they provided and whatnot than I was at Ezzells, even though the latter seems to get rave reviews from the folks in or around the area (which I don’t understand — at all).
Anyway, our waitress was very attentive — consistently coming back to refill our coffee and check on us and how we were doing. I was impressed with her friendly demeanor and service.
TL;DR All in all, a surprisingly positive Waffle House experience. If you’re in the mood for Waffle House-​esque food? I’d recommend this place.

Great food for a Waffle House. Susan was our waitress and was spectacular. I highly recommend if you are in the mood for Waffle House food.

It’s cheap, it’s fast, it’s tasty and you gotta admit it fills you up… it’s a diner for Chrissakes! Of course it’s not going to be haute-​cuisine! But the kicker for me was that the coffee was actually decent!

Dirty, Greasy, and a burnt out staff. Typical Waffle House experience. It’s either good or absolutely awful. Probably one of the worst run locations in the chain, and this is after 8 years of visits.

Everyone knows Waffle House is best after 2 AM. After a night of throwing beers back at the Fat Pelican, we headed out to a nice 3:30 AM Waffle House trip. The food is as expected: overly sweet waffles, delicious freeze dried hash browns topped and covered with the underrated WaHo chili. This location stands out, well beyond the terrible Lexington, VA location I’ve enjoyed many times, thanks to the incredibly friendly service. I’ve never seen people working the graveyard shift be so chipper, especially with a bunch of drunk dicks like us. So kudos to WaHo Monkey Junction — they are the pinnacle for Waffle House service across the land.

Okay, first this is a Waffle House so you’re not going there expecting fine cuisine or you should be horsewhipped in the townsquare.
That being said, I’m not a huge Waffle House fan but I do love the Monkey Junction location. The waitresses (except Angela) are friendly and efficient… there’s banter from the cooks… my coffee cup is always full and well… I feel the love.
My fave is the $ 5.99 all star special… enough to feed two people.
