The review that I have for this hair salon and for my seemingly kind hairstylist Tania Gonzales is being done with a heavy heart and lots of sadness. I visited Hands2Hair Salon & Spa on couple on March 2, 2015 with my husband. I wanted to get my hair colored and cut for the first time and chose this salon because it is in the LGBT friendly area of Wilton Manors. I am a trans woman and I was very cautious and hesitant of where to go because I wanted to be treated and taken care of well. I wanted to state that Tania was very sweet and gracious to me and I was treated very nicely there at this salon. She recommended that I cut several inches of my hair and go with an easy to manage bob hairstyle because my hair had been so badly damaged in the past and it needed to get healthy. I had been growing out my hair since 2013 but I followed her advice and she not only ended up cutting my hair but coloring it and giving me a keratin treatment as well. My hair felt so good afterwards and I thanked Tania and went home that night a happy customer for life. I even wrote a wonderful review on the salon’s Facebook page. Great right? What is to complain about? Well, today has been over two weeks since my visit to Hands2 Hair and I wanted to say that I am very perturbed about what happened next. To make a long story short, I was infected by an infection of ringworm that developed first in the lower portions of my scalp. Hands2Hair should also be called Feet2Hair because prior to my hairstylist working on me she had just finished up with a gentleman who was getting a pedicure. Yes, that is right, within minutes of finishing up with him and his feet, she went to work on me and my hair. I had no idea and I did not make the connection until just a few days ago when a very serious form of ringworm showed up on my scalp, then right ear, my cheek and neck. This has been extremely uncomfortable and painful to deal with. I am on day three of treating it as of today but let me tell you that you need to make sure that your salon is following all of the proper health codes or this can happen to you too. I tried to contact my hairstylist and she eventually responded with a phone call. She began to tell me that she was not possibly negligent in any way, shape or form. The salon had recently passed a health inspection with flying colors and that my husband and I were welcome to come and see for ourselves. She said that perhaps I needed to contact a medical professional and get their opinion on the matter but she and the salon were not going to be held responsible for any of the problems that I am suffering from. When can we find a way to have businesses take responsibility for their actions these days? If you do visit this salon, please make sure that you tell your stylist to adhere to all of the safety and health protocols. This should never have happened to me, I am certain that she and this salon is culpable and I am seeking a full refund.

I feel like I got ripped off. $ 58 for the WORST mani-pedi EVER. I paid extra for shellac and French. It looked awful. I went and had them redone.

Do not by groupons for this business. Its a scam to get you in the door and then charge you more. Merchant tried to charge me more for Hair services already paid for on groupon.

Awesome place, there’s always parking on the side lot. Great people. They do a really good, quality job. I got the mani/pedi groupon and it was a great deal. I’ll definitely be back!

First off when I walked in the door no one really greeted me. They kind of just acted like I wasn’t even there. It was very rude. I bought the groupon online for partial highlights, cut and style. I told the lady to do whatever she thought would look good and my hair came out pretty well. She asked me if I wanted toner and I said whatever she thinks. After everything was done I got to the register and they charged me an extra $ 65 for the toner. I’ve never paid extra for toner. They also charged me an additional $ 25 to blow dry my hair since it was long. I thought that was a little pricey but fine. The charge for toner was completely ridiculous. I would have never agreed to pay it if I had known it was $ 65 extra. I had to have the lady get the manager on the phone and she made me only pay $ 45 but without being told It was extra I felt conned. Not to mention the other hair stylist had to ask my lady how much to charge for his client and when she told him he was like that’s really expensive are you sure. He probably said that like 10x. Needless to say I will not be going back to this place.

This review is completely based upon customer service– I did not end up getting anything done while I was there. I purchased a Groupon for shellac manicure and pedicure. When I called to make an appointment, the person on the phone tried to convince me not to buy the Groupon, stating that they would honor the price there. I explained that I had some Groupon bucks, so I preferred using Groupon. Upon arrival, I sat down in the chair and the nail tech began filing my nails. About 5 minutes into my mani, the person at the front desk and a woman, who I assume was the manager, began arguing about my Groupon. There were multiple customers present, yet they had the conversation loudly in front of us. Finally, the manager came over to me and asked to see my Groupon. My nails were not painted yet, but were covered in dust from filing so I told her which Groupon I had purchased. She then informed me that I had to produce the Groupon before my treatment. I dusted my nails off and got my phone from my purse. The Groupon app kept timing out, so I showed her the confirmation email instead. She told me that was unacceptable and that they would not do my nails without the app working. I told her I was very confused and that I’d never been asked to pay for a salon service before it was done. Her response was completely insane, and she basically accused me of trying to «steal» services from her. She raised her voice and began telling me that«all Groupon customers are the same» and that I probably bought it and then cancelled it so I could get it for free. I told her that I found that accusation offensive and that accusing a new customer of stealing when they had just walked in 5 minutes ago was very rude. She told me that if I wasn’t trying to steal, I should show her the Groupon. Right in front of her, I tried to open the app which kept saying«try back later» and then I showed her the confirmation email where it clearly showed my credit card had been charged. She continued to accuse me of trying to get free services in a raised voice in front of multiple customers. The nail tech and the woman at the front desk did/said nothing. Eventually, the app worked but by that point I was so offended and told them I was not interested in receiving services there and the manager’s response was«Good, we do not need you anyway» or something along those lines. Never once did I raise my voice, lose my cool, or speak rudely to her. I told her multiple times that I was very confused and upset about being treated that way. I left with my nails half-filed. The moment I left, I called Groupon and luckily they practice amazing customer service, so I was provided with a refund. The agent was incredibly apologetic, even though my experience was in no way her/Groupon’s fault. I don’t understand why a business would offer Groupons if they do not intend to actually use them or treat Groupon customers with respect. Groupon is usually intended to help businesses acquire new customers, but if they continue to treat those customers so poorly they will never reap those benefits. What a despicable experience.

So I feel bad writing this review as everyone in the salon has been VERY nice to me. Unfortunately, the mani pedi I received was really poor and not worth even the group-on price I paid for it, which is apparently their current price, according to the sign out front. The nail tech doesn’t seem to have a lot of experience… My hands are often in rough shape due to my lifestyle. However, she didn’t ask what shape I wanted my nails, didn’t soak my cuticles, didn’t ask if I wanted the cuticles pushed back or cut, had never heard of the Sugar Daddy color, and didn’t have any colors to match the shellac on my hands with my toes. Also she did pedi last so I had to walk out with my shoes in hand & there is no foot polish dryer. This pic is of my nails while still in the salon … you can see how they look as if they have already been growing out for several days. There are also bumps and bare spots in the color. The pedi is somewhat better but still looks patchy. I am going out of town this weekend for a special event and have to think about whether I should get it done over tomorrow before I fly out on Friday. This looks like a hair salon and I bet their hair services are pretty good. But for nails not so much. If you don’t mind paying $ 80 and investing 2 – 3 hours you will get the best mani-pedi of your life at GGs Salon with Luz. If you want a quickie and don’t mind horrible customer service from the owner, try Lavish Manors & ask for May.

I have gone here for the last year but since Hristian got to the salon the first time in my life I enjoyed getting color put in my hair and wasn’t fearful of complete sabotage on my head. Previously and practically always hairdressers ruined my hair and the colors were never what I expected. I’m so happy I walked in one day and saw his colorful vibrant hair and personality to match and became a regular ever since ! I looked for so long I finally found a hair stylist I could trust with my hair.

I have been coloring my hair for years as I love different looks and trying new things. I haven’t been to a lot of salons. As I find someone, I stick with them, …until I moved. I have been searching for a great colorist and found one with a GREAT personality!!! Chris at Hands 2 Hair did an AMAZING job! Took his time and listened! I have never had a better color and I can’t wait to go back!!! Chris is amazing!!!

I was all excited when I got the groupon for a shellac manicure and spa pedicure for Hands2Hair Salon. I am always looking for a near by location to get a manicure and pedicure. First I tried to book the appointment and when I received a call back I could no understand a single word in the message. I originally wanted an appt on Sunday, which is advertised on their website and on the door of the salon. When I called back they informed me that they are not open on Sundays. I scheduled for a day after work. This was the worst gel manicure that I have ever gotten. It took over an hour to do the gel manicure. You can see all of the brush strokes that were made my the nail technician. She didn’t paint my nails up to the cuticle line, so it looks like my nails have grown out after immediately getting them done. After my maincure she did the pedicure which ended up bumpy and uneven. I will never return to Hands2Hair Salon for a manicure or pedicure.

Sadly the worst manicure I’ve ever had. The equipment is stored in disinfectant that clearly needed changing in place of an autoclave. I had a groupon which included a pedicure. After seeing the manicure I decided to pass on the pedicure. Extremely dissatisfying.

Just enjoyed a spa pedi/and mani here after getting a gift from Groupon. The place is cool. It was very clean, staff was friendly and professional and Angela did a great job. The germaphobe in me loved the fact that they were very hygiene conscious. I’m new in town and would definitely go back. Only notes don’t use the meter parking on the street, there’s a free parking lot right on the corner and although the salon seems a little dark from the outside, go right in… it’s open.

Let me just start by saying that I don’t believe I’ve ever had anyone be so meticulous with my nails before. I went in for a pedicure and shellac manicure(used a groupon) with a short notice. The salon is clean and smells nice. The employees are friendly and are accommodating. Tania did my manicure and pedicure. She has an amazing dedication to making sure your nails look great. They use CND products as well as OPI and I think I may have seen a few Essie polishes. I really liked that they used plastic liners for the pedicure soaking tubs.

My friends hair looked amazing, so naturally, i inquired about where she got her hair done. I’m so very happy that I met Gabriel. He fixed my color and did an AMAZING job! I’ve finally found a salon & stylist that I like and trust with my hair. Also, the products are great – they use all organic! HIGHLY recommend!
