Inn on the Drive

This is a sweet place close to the drive and all it provides. Friendly owners with a great knowledge of south Florida. Walter and Tony are so sweet. Breakfast delivered to your room every morning. Rooms are clean. Pool is just outside the room. Lit beautifully each night. Great place.

Knocked on the door to see if they had a vacancy for Friday to Tuesday. They showed us the room, which looked very nice … tile, not carpeting, very clean and nice. We paid $ 600 plus dollars in advance for the room and went on our way to Key West for a couple days as planned feeling that we had secured a place to stay when we got back. Once we did come back, we realized that we didn’t tell them about our puppy (as we only knocked on the door instead of going through some formal renting process). We wanted to be up front and honest and we asked if the puppy was okay. The owners became very rude and stated «Nobody in Fort Lauderdale will rent to you» and told us to leave now! I got out of the car and approached the rude owner and told him that we wanted our money back if they didn’t want to rent. He stated that he was going to keep part of it because it says on his web site that they don’t allow pets. Finally, after stating that I would dispute credit card charges unless refunded, he refunded my card (although I have not yet received the refund) and continued to «scold» us for having a puppy. I understand not wanting a puppy in your nice rental, I really do. That’s why we disclosed it. But the owners really don’t need to scold people that are trying to do business with them. By the way, we stayed at the Westin directly on the beach, top floor, and it was cheaper that this little Inn. Finally, there will still be a disputed credit card on this transaction if the refund was voided. I have a level of mis-​trust toward these owners. We’ll see how it works out.
Update: I received my full refund the first banking day after the weekend, so I suspicion that the refund was voided was false. I have revised the star rating to 3 stars to reflect a neutral rating. The owner still refers to their web site (which I didn’t know existed when the incident occurred) states that they don’t accept dogs. But when I checked their site I found a portion that talked about traveling with your pet and that pets should not be left in the rooms unattended, giving the impression that they allow pets, which they do not. Bottom line is that most people will probably be fine staying here, but not everyone.

Great location just steps off The Drive to all the bars, shops and restaurants. Beautifully decorated rooms and the pool area is wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the heart of Wilton Manors and owners are great.

Best Inn in town! Recently open, perfect location and great service! I highly recommend this place!
