Latinos Salud

Latinos Salud is probably the most hospitable HIV/​STI outreach organization in South Florida! A friend and I went to the Wilton Manors location for routine HIV testing and immediately I was impressed by the warm welcome we received. The location is clean, inviting, and lively. The wait was minimal and the staff was professional, knowledgeable, and patient (I have a fear of blood). Latinos Salud is an invaluable resource for the community and I encourage all to pay them a visit for routine testing and their other sponsored events. You’ll feel right at home whether you’re Latino or not or whether you speak English or Spanish. As a bonus, they offer one of the most advanced rapid HIV tests, the 4^th generation Alere Determine HIV-​½ Ag/​Ab. Keep up the good work!
Latinos Salud es probablemente la organización más hospitalaria para la comunidad con respecto al VIH y infecciones venéreas en el sur de la Florida! Un amigo y yo fuimos a la oficina situada en Wilton Manors para una prueba de VIH de rutina y de inmediato me quedé impresionado por la calidad bienvenida que recibimos. La oficina es limpia, acogedora, y animada. La espera fue mínima y el personal que nos atendió fue profesional, eficiente, y muy paciente (yo le tengo miedo a la sangre). Latinos Salud es un recurso muy valioso para la comunidad y animo a todos que le hagan una visita para las pruebas de rutina y sus otros eventos patrocinados. Te sentirás como en casa igual si eres latino o no, o si hablas Inglés o Español. When Latinos Salud first open its doors along «The Drive» I had assumed that it was only for young gay Latinos/​Hispanics. On that point I couldn’t have been more wrong; so don’t assume or allow yourself to be misled as I was, because it is in fact so very much more.
The reality is that it is a welcoming open door serving every one of every cultural background not only within the community but visitors as well. The services it offers are extensive and profoundly vital. Yes, they offer free HIV testing, counseling, AIDS awareness and prevention, but go way, way beyond that with a complete comprehensive series of life supporting and life enhancing services.
There are special «life coaching» programs encouraging social relationships, assistance with «Linkage Specialists» that enable ones entrance into various medical programs such as Ryan White, language assistance not only for those who are Spanish speaking but for those who, like me are presently English speaking only but would like to learn Spanish speaking language skills, events such a special nights for movies, outdoor sports activities, dinners, parades and shows. Also, and probably most importantly, plain and simply helpful services offering friendly faces to speak with about any problem, be it employment, career opportunities, education or whatever else that might prove worthy for the betterment of one’s life or lifestyle.
