this place is awesome! I’m an avid coffee drinker but was skeptical this would be another«hipster» style coffee shop… I was very pleased. great atmosphere. super friendly staff. attentive service. consistency in its presentation and rustic décor. so reasonably priced as well — great place! will absolutely come again. Anjo, who was working the outside seating area, is so amazing and attentive. this place is a must try for coffee enthusiast!

This spot is fun and unusual. It is dog friendly with personable staff. The food was fresh and the chilled coffees hit the spot. There is also a market that opened up recently that you can shop for local yummies and go home with something to share! Local spot and worth visiting. Loved it!

I love The Alchemist! I try to get to this favorite local spot at least once a week. When it comes to really delicious food and a funky, laid back atmosphere, this is the place. You can’t beat the coffee, though I prefer their cold coffee offerings. It’s definitely the kind of place to sit outside, bring a book or your laptop, and enjoy the cool, relaxed atmosphere. My only complaint would be the rather small(and slightly overpriced) menu– I’d really love to see a few sandwich options, and a bigger salad menu. But other than that, the Alchemist is a perfect little spot with friendly staff and comfortable seating.

The place was very nice and a relaxing experience, good music very cozy and home like environment. Mason jars, ice cubes made of coffee in the coffee. Very strong and tastey… I’d recommend you stop by if your in the area. Say Hello to the cool Manager Angel he will fill you in if you have any questions about the coffee and food served.

I’m just gonna say up front the only reason this place does not get 5 starts is because of the prices. As an in-house coffee roaster I’m already a fan, but you put delicious drinks, meals, and goodies with smaller portions and high prices(at least in the area) and I’m not going to be coming too often. Okay, so to the good stuff. Drinks — I have only had the iced coffee, which is unlike any ice coffee I have ever had, probably the best! I think the worst part about coffee is how water it can get, well, The Alchemist has solved this problem by using coffee iced cubes! Not only is the cold brew top quality, the standard concoction includes sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar. While I did not have that version, my almond milk, stevia sweetened iced coffee was on par! And because I was drinking decaf at the time, I did not use the coffee cubes, but it was still fantastic. My friend had the Yerba mate, and while I just had a sip, it was absolutely light and refreshing with a couple fresh mint leaves. Perfect! Atmosphere — this is probably the best part… as you walk into this hidden nook of shops in Wilton Manors, you see an eclectic mix of outdoor décor, lots of colors, shaded tables, and tons of Flora(especially orchids from the shop next door). The place has a woodsy mountain feel, but is so warm and inviting. The inside is like a chemistry lab(hence the Alchemist) with Siphon coffee makers and bunsen burners. I could spend a lovely afternoon here. The only downside are the types of chairs. I would like to see some cushioned varieties for longer sit times ;) Food — As I mentioned earlier the portions are small, which is not a bad thing, but for the price it begs you wanting more. I had the Avocado Slider and half of the Tuna Slider. Both were delicious, but the Tuna slider had more flavor in my opinion. My friend had the Mediterranean slider and she really like it. Area — there is a farmer’s Market and cute little shops and a restaurant. Everything closes at 5 ;) I would recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious coffee, yummy«meals», and an intoxicating environment. However, because of the price and portions, I will not be making this my daily work spot.

This place was great! The open faced sandwich was delicious but it was definitely small! Not a place to go if you’re really hungry. It is an adorable spot to spend with some friends on a beautiful day outside on their patio! BUT the iced coffee was the best I have EVERHAD! I’m still craving it!

This hidden treasure totally worth 5 star review! Me and my husband came to Ft Lauderdale for vacation and found this place from Unilocal!Originally i just wanted to get a coconut water… but their iced coffee is a BOMB! The best part is the dining environment — the garden is so pretty and cute… you just wanted to stay here forever. I am so glad we came here to have such plaseant experience here! Bravo!!!

The only place in Fort Lauderdale that is new and fresh! Located in a great setting! Love all the eucalyptus trees and orchids around! For the coffee, I’d have to say it’s the best I’ve ever had! So amazing! I’ve been going here since they opened. Now there’s lines out the door! happy they are doing so well! I love the keffir! Homemade and so light and satisfying for a nice snack.

The iced coffee is hands down, AMAZING. Service isn’t super friendly or quick by any means, but I know a good cup takes time. What I loved most was the ambiance. I could find reasons to just sit and enjoy the scenery, all day. While I found parking pretty quickly, it looks like this is an issue here. I would giver yourself a couple minute to make sure you’re not parking a few blocks down. They offer open faces sandwiches which they call«slicers» that I will definitely give a try next time I’m in.

This is officially my weekend coffee spot. I take all my friends when they come to visit here, because yes it’s a cool place, with great food, and it’s less than 10 min from my place! I absolutely Love the vibe! Literally can spend hours here. My fave is the iced coffee. Actually converted me and reminded me of my love for the iced Java. *swoon* I wish the breakfast hours were longer on Sat/Sun, but everything is pretty good. The lunch sandwiches aren’t the most filling, however it’s good to whet your appetite. Grab a seat by the pond. Oh and it’s kid-friendly. Enjoy, and hope to see you out there!

Held off writing a review the first time I visited because I had a bad experience… but it was night and day when I came I back for a second try. First of all, the place is super nice. They have a small indoor area, and then a nice sized outdoor/patio area under a covered roof with large picnic tables and other smaller/individual tables for you to eat at. The staff was super nice — from the young lady that took our order — the other young lady that picked up our plates… they were both smiling and super nice. Now to the food… Turkey and cheese — a TON of turkey stacked up. These slicers are good sized open faced sandwiches made with great quality ingredients. The turkey was super tasty and cut thin(stacked high). I also went for the Nutella Slicer with fresh fruits on top. It was the ultimate way to end an awesome lunch. The slather on the Nutella nice and thick and the fresh strawberries were delicious. Great size portion — deff enough to share! After getting the Bulletproof the first time(didn’t like it all) I went with the«iced coffee» –holy moly! It’s their cold brew coffee with sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar. It was delicious! As you might read in the reviews — parking here is TOUGH. I came on a weekday and it took me a good amount of time circling around, before I finally noticed someone leaving and snagged a spot in their small lot. This is the only real downfall to this place… but it’s totally worth the minor headache.

I can’t believe I haven’t written anything about this place! Without being overly dramatic I truly think this place is a treasure. There aren’t many places here that kind of take you out of South Florida and make you feel like you’re somewhere else and the Alchemist for me definitely does just that. It’s located right outside of Wilton Drive beyond five points. Covered in trees and hidden in the back of the street it’s kind of like a simple escape for us after a long week. I love their coffee and their tea. Their slicers are refreshing, not always the most filling, but definitely a great snack. Lots of seating both covered and open to sun depending on you are looking for. It can get hot there and even though it’s shaded– it’s Florida. You can walk around the grounds. This place is more than just a coffee shop. I feel like it’s a little community. On the weekends they have a small market in the back. They had a man playing a kind of one-man band. It again, was basically like a retreat. I’ve noticed they’ve opened a little café beside the alchemist. They talked to me about how you can buy into a produce program where you pay $ 20 and you pick up whatever produce they have available that was grown there. Amazing. Not many places that I know that do that. Parking can be a little hairy, but I tend to just park far away and just walk. No big deal for me. It’s a definite must if you’re in the area. You must watch how the coffee is made, see how the grounds are produced, see the type of glassware they use(FYI it’s super cool and homemade), and just experience what’s not typically experienced here in South Florida.

This coffee lab was just around the corner from where we were staying on our weekend jaunt to South Florida. When a lot of the reviews mentioned Bulletproof coffee which I had been wanting to try and I saw my girl Vanessa T. was a fan, I knew I was in good hands. It’s inviting like you’re walking into someone’s home to have a cup of tea and a bite to eat. Or maybe you’re walking into your neighbors backyard chem lab. But the concoctions coming out of this little joint are nothing but special. The BP coffee with ghee and coconut oil was everything I expected. Made me really want to try to figure out how to make it at home. So many layers of flavor and richness all served up in the coolest of cool coffee mugs. I went with the avocado slicer to nosh on. And they don’t skimp on the avocado at all. Loaded with chunks of ripe avocado and a squeeze of fresh lemon, it was the perfect mid-morning snack while we hooked up with our sister-in-law for some family bonding time. I don’t know that we’ll always be in the Wilton Manors area, but if we are, a stop at the Alchemist will definitely be on our list.

This is the second time we went here. The first time, one website said they were open, we got there, and they were closing. We decided to give it a second chance, though, due to the raving we had heard about it. There was a huge crowd there the whole time we were there. My husband got a latte with chocolate — a mocha. I got the iced coffee with condensed milk, brown sugar, and coffee ice cubes. I wanted to try the bulletproof, but the iced coffee seemed a little less out there. I loved the quirky atmosphere, the thought and creativity behind the drinks. What we didn’t like is the lack of flavors. Even just adding one signature simple syrup to the menu whether it be Madagascar Vanilla, Peppermint, Lavender, or Amaretto would be a huge burst to their value for us. There seems to be two camps of coffee shops, ones that focus on the pure coffee flavor, and ones that focus with flavorings. Why can’t one do both? So maybe you are against only covering up the coffee flavor with a shelf of flavorings. Perhaps it is selling out… That is why I say focus on the coffee flavor AND one or two signature simple syrups. You can make them from scratch. It really isn’t that hard. Some of the coffee drinks seemed a bit steep in price. I also was not digging the«farmer’s market» where I saw no farmers in site. I would more aptly call it a flea market or artisans market. Only in South Florida would that be called a farmer’s market. Overall, the lack of flavors will probably never bring us back again, unless I can talk the hubby into another visit or someone asks to meet us there.

I have been to this place several times now and I have NEVER had a bad experience:) the staff is really friendly and the place itself is so cute and relaxing. I usually like to drink my coffee black, but the iced coffee here is amazing! It’s a bit sweet but not over the top. I’ve had the breakfast croissant sandwich, the avacado slicer and the the Brie slicer… All have been amazing! This is a great place to bring a book and just hang out. The slicers are great if «fresh and clean» is of paramount importance to you. If you like avocado, you will like it here. When I am on a diet, I know I can go here and make choices that will be relatively guilt-free. It has one of the few outdoor seating areas in all of Fort Lauderdale where you don’t feel like your table is in the middle of freeway traffic. I like their coconut-with-a-straw-stuck-in-it. The coffee is not as good as you hope it will be, but I like really strong coffee. Downside: parking is scarce/difficult. Upside: my husband loves it here and he is very picky.

This is the coolest coffee shop I’ve ever been to. Let’s start with the service, which is amazing. The counter folks – yes; it’s counter service – feel incredibly great full for your business. They kindly walk you through the selection with guidance and curation. They were busy when we were there; so hats off for keeping your cool. The coffee is next level. It’s a little sweeter than what I’m used to but will still change your life. Quality and small batches are key here, and it certainly shows. To be honest, I’m sure Starbucks really wants to be The Alchemist. But it’s hard to scale authenticity. Oh, and the prices are on point. I got the English muffin and it was the best breakfast sandwich ever. Their coffee prices seem lower than what they should be as well. So a big win for the customers. Defiantly a win for FLL.

I was excited to come see this outdoor coffee shop. My friend said it had great coffee and sandwiches. I ordered a Caprese and an iced American and my BF ordered some avocado sandwich and a coffee, when the woman said it was $ 27– I almost had to call a gay ambulance to pick me up. THEN the sandwiches came on one slice of bread and no side. The coffee was good and the food wasn’t bad, it was just expensive and really not worth it. Perhaps a muffin and a cookie would’ve been a better choice. Had I been VERY hungry I would’ve eaten the waiter who was sexy but don’t come here expecting a full sandwich and chips. Go elsewhere

If you are looking for a different place to grab coffee… this is the place. The coffee is freshly brewed. It takes awhile. We arrived about brunch time. I got the ice coffee and it was absolutely delicious with the coconut oil. It tasted like coffee with natural sweetness but not overwhelming sweet. I got the English muffin, nothing special. Service was a little slow. We waited awhile to get our coffee and sandwich. I would highly recommend only getting the coffee here and just to chit chat or go with a group. The ambience is nice, there’s outdoor seating and some inside.

I like that this place has plentiful outdoor seating. The service could’ve been friendlier though. Also, the BulletProof coffee was really overrated and tasted way too oily. Furthermore, the WIFI is totally sketch — I do NOT recommend using it. You have to log in to the WIFI using your social media and soon after I did, I got notification of an attempt to change my Facebook password. I enjoyed the avocado open faced sandwich. The smoked salmon open faced sandwich was a bit too salty in my opinion. It would have been better with Gravlax. However, on a nice day, this spot is relaxing with chill music to catch up with friends.

This is a Ft Lauderdale must. Based on Unilocal reviews we visited on a Sunday morning and the place was packed. You order from the menu at the counter and then find seating and they bring your food to you. I decided to go with the bulletproof coffee, turkey/avocado/Swiss cheese/tomato/egg/sprouts English muffin and the Nutella/strawberries/bananas on Tuscan bread(which was absolutely amazing. Aside from the lack of parking and available seating you will really love the Alchemist. Give it a try.

There’s no place like home and at the Alchemist they make you feel at home. The open patio felt like I was invited into someones backyard. I, of course accepted this invitation willingly. The bullet proof coffee was an acquired taste, one that I have yet to acquire. However, the cappuccino warmed my soul and was complemented perfectly with shaved chocolate. When I’m asked to Brie or not to Brie? The answer is always Brie. I had the Brie, honey and almond slider and it was perfection. I gave a star alone because of this Brie slider. Must try.

Coolest place found down a back street in Wilton Manors. There is little parking which is a complaint and few breakfast items to choose from the menu. But all of that we overlooked when out came my cappuccino and my husbands hot chocolate. My cappuccino was a double shot with delicious cinnamon foam and chocolate shaves for $ 6.50. It was served in a mason jar! The hot chocolate had a spectacular twist, they bring out a cup of hot milk and chunks of chocolate shaves on the side for the customer to make on their own, that was $ 5. I must say, they were both delicious and kept us nice and warm while our food items were being made on this chilly Florida day. We both ordered the croissant breakfast sandwhich. It came with turkey, egg, swiss cheese, and avacado. My husband substituted the croissant for and English muffin bun. The presentation of the sandwiches was different, instead of being served on a plate they use a piece of wood! Really cool! My husband and I both agreed that the food was good but it was not enough to be filling. We decided that when we return we would order 3 sandwiches and spilt the 3rd one to be satisfied.(No we are not fatties, but do believe breakfast is an important meal and should not leave hungry) :-) It is an up and coming location, with a crêpe boutique and Mexican restaurant moving in next door within the next few months. They also have a man selling orchids and another man selling handmade jewelry. It is a must try, especially if you looking for a chill atmosphere.

What a hidden gem! The Alchemist is a hipster spot thats not completely overrun with hipsters — probably couldn’t find it with their vintage GPS: P Coffee, tea, breakfast sandwiches, lunch slicers, and lunch specials all compile the menu. The quirky«Bill Nye the Science Guy» theme is found throughout, from the cups(mason jars with carabenas), to tests tubes and measuring cylinders for mixing coffee creations. I love the The Alchemist has a indoor/outdoor option, there is plenty of seating, but also it remains quaint. We ordered slicers which were delivered to table wrapped in paper, pegged at the top on a wooden platter. I got the Turkey and Swiss slicer. It kind of reminds me of when I was in college and would only have one slice of bread left, continuing to make a sandwich but missing the top piece of bread; then attempting to balance all the insecure toppings while piling it into my face. Besides the point, but yes, it is a toasted piece of bread with the toppings on it, the turkey was tender and juicy, then there was red peppers, tomatoes and spinach. It was small but it was just enough for the bite I wanted. I accompanied my slicer with the iced coffee. It was just sweet enough, and never lost flavor because it had coffee ice cubes too :) We were lucky to have great weather, the breeze was cool and it felt so good to be outside without overheating. I love all the elements The Alchemist has to offer, no chemistry pun intended…

Really awesome and unique coffee shop just outside of Fort Lauderdale. Drinks are more of a «cocktail» with several unique ingredients(ghee, coconut oil, frozen coffee cubes, etc). Their method of brewing(syphon) is particularly interesting, and it seems like they roast their beans on premise. Great crowd, awesome outdoor seating, and really creative feel. Of anywhere in Fort Lauderdale, this felt the most like my hometown of San Francisco. 5⁄5 stars for ambience, creativity, and vibe. I’m a San Francisco coffee snob, though, so I was a bit disappointed by the coffee. The Iced Coffee was very good, but doesn’t crack my Top 10. Too sweet and milky for my taste, even though I asked for it less sweet. So, I went back to order the pure cold brew with no mixers or sugar. It was very good for sure, but far too much sediment for my taste — it needed another filtering. I only drank half of it. 4⁄5 for the coffee, mostly for the originality, creativity, and specialty preparation. I also had the BBQ slider(an open faced sandwich). It was fine, but not something I’d order again. 3⁄5 for my limited food experience. Parking was challenging — I eventually just parked in one of the dozen«No Parking — Tow Away» zones around the place. Definitely a popular destination!

A popular hangout for dignified older ladies, fathers and daughters, couples, and groups of young friends, alchemist coffee serves up delicious coffee and«sliders»(open faced sandwiches) with a smile. Sit on the outside patio on a nice day and enjoy the smell of roasting coffee while geckos scamper about in the nearby bushes. Listen to the smooth jazz while reading a book. If you seek tranquility, get here early before the hipsters wake up and start making noise. Order a bulletproof coffee. The smoked salmon slider was excellent, a delicious twist on the ol’ lox/cream cheese/bagel combination. It’s a smidge on the pricey side but worth the experience. Presentation is adorable with mason jar /carabiner«mugs» and log slice plates. I will definitely be back.

I drooled over pictures of The Alchemist Coffee long before I was able to finally make a visit there. I took a Friday off from work and decided to head down with a friend for some coffee and a late/light breakfast. I love unique and eclectic places and the Alchemist is easily both. It is also super dog friendly and my friend and I both brought our dogs with us. They even let us bring them inside while we placed our order so one of us didn’t have to wait outside which was really nice. They also have water bowls outside, so everyone including both dogs were happy. The décor outside gives you plenty to look at and reminded me of stuff my mom would have had in her yard(well some of it lol). Not only do you have the trees to cool you off and the cool area to sit and hang out but there are flowers and plants everywhere along with garden gnomes, a small pond with fish and many other unique items spread all over that are fun things to talk about with whomever you bring or just to look at yourself. My dog especially loved the fish and couldn’t keep her eyes off of them… or the lizard’s lol. THECOFFEE Ok so my friend HAD to have the iced coffee because she was intrigued by the coffee ice cubes(so was I actually). She had them make it the way they prepare it minus the sugar. It was really good and she ate every ice cube as well haha. I decided to try something different so we could share and I went with a double Macchiato(I added sugar) and I really enjoyed it but I LOVE the cups they use even more. All the beakers and metal clips used as handles. I thought it was really cool and added to the whole experience for me. They also keep the sugar and other coffee condiments and stirrers in these cute little boxes on the tables. THEFOOD We had to try some of the slicers as well since we were there and we are both always hungry anyways lol! She went with the melted brie with honey and sliced almonds which was good but we both agreed my smoked salmon with goat cheese, capers, onions and lemon was so much better. Definitely want to try more next time but the smoked salmon is a winner for sure. If you love coffee, a cool vibe and an eclectic environment to hang out and chat or just have some me time this is the place to go.

I can’t believe how I could have missed doing a review of this place… well, better late than never! This place has been in our bookmarks for a while, and again, never really pulled a trigger to come and pay a visit. On one particular Sunday morning, me and my wife thought, the time is now. It’s a tiny but very cozy coffee shop. There were some tables inside the restaurant, but we fount its much more intriguing to set outside in their garden. The menu items were pretty simple, coffee and slicer sandwiches. I went with the Syphon Coffee, its a less bitter, fresh roasted artisan coffee. Very good. My wife ordered their Iced Coffee. It has been cold brewed for 24 hours served with half and half on top. They even hand shake and prepared in front of you. For my breakfast, I ordered a croissant with turkey, swiss cheese, egg and my favorite avocado. The croissant was toasted lightly just to my liking. My wife went with the shrimp slicer in their lunch menu. It has kani, avocado, celery, mayo… and of course, shrimps! She liked the taste but thought the breads served was a bit hard, which made it tough to chew for her…(until she gets some dental work done). I like the coffee, I like the slicer I ordered. The staff was pretty friendly. It was very nice to have breakfast on their beautiful garden, especially in a beautiful day that we visited. The price was pretty reasonable, the food was good, we(or at least I) will definitely come back!

First time at The Alchemist, and I thought I would love it. Maybe my expectations were high due to all the 5 star reviews and great word of mouth, but I’m really sad to say I was underwhelmed. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could. Atmosphere = 5 stars Charming garden seating with small tables, big umbrellas, trees and beautiful orchids. We actually hung out for a long time after eating, just enjoying taking it in. Service = 5 stars. It was easy to place our order. Food and coffee was ready in a fair amount of time. Restaurant was clean. Staff was friendly and efficient. Food and coffee were served in a very charming presentation. There are lots of pictures posted on Unilocal,so you can check that out. But ultimately, isn’t it about the food? Basically, our Sunday morning breakfast was ok. Nothing special. Definitely not extraordinary, or anything worth driving more than 10 minutes for. 2.5 stars. We both had the syphon coffee and the breakfast croissant. Both of our coffees were really weak. I would say watery. I had heard so much about their delicious coffee and was incredibly disappointed. I LOVE coffee(like really love coffee) and really hope ours was just a poorly made batch. The breakfast sandwich was better than the coffee, but not spectacular. The croissant itself was good, perfectly flaky and buttery. It included a fried egg, some turkey, Swiss cheese and a slice of avocado. I appreciated that all the ingredients were really fresh and liked the addition of the avocado. Wish it had more maybe. I’m sad to say that, overall, the sandwich was bland. It came with a little pico de gallo on the side, which I somewhat used, but it wasn’t really onions I was looking for to provide the flavor in a breakfast sandwich. Overall, we had a nice experience at The Alchemist, but I really wanted to love my meal and I didn’t. I can get a better tasting breakfast in west broward near my house and not have to drive to Wilton Manors. I’d give The Alchemist another shot since the menu is kind of eclectic and the food is really fresh, but I would order something different.

Found this unique little place thanks to a friend and fellow Unilocaler Jenn F. and couldn’t be happier. A group of 6 of us came over for breakfast after a Sunday beach run and it was the perfect spot. Kind of hard to find because it’s hidden back in an old nursery but that only adds to it’s charm. It has this funky vibe that makes you feel like you’re in another world. I had the hot chocolate, even though it was 90 degrees outside, and a brie, almond and honey slicer. Both were amazing. The hot chocolate is served with shaved chocolate on the side so you can add as much or as little as you like. Or you can eat half the chocolate by itself if you want to. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their meal and several of them said the coffee was the best they had tried. Prices were really affordable and the staff was super friendly. Take the time to check out the coffee bean roasting station outside and the unique way they make the coffee. It’s like a chemistry lab in here and it’s amazing.

9÷27÷15 — Thanks to fellow Unilocalelite Jenn F. we found this place. It’s in an almost secret spot, perfect for our #SecretRunBreakfastClub After a run on the beach, this is just what we needed for our bodies to feel refreshed and relaxed. Our party of 6 sat inside after we put our order. The décor is so unique, very earthy and fun. I believe we all said we wanted to live here. The food presentation is so cool with the wood coasters, the mason jars, the clothes pins. I loved it. The egg croissant was flaky and buttery. Nice slices of avocado and the side of spicy salsa was delish… Everything was fresh. Their mocha coffee was just like my grandma’s coffee. Took me back to that memory. Will definitely be back, maybe they will let me sleep here. A girl can dream…
