A good local choice(we live in he area). Food is always tasty and well prepared. Service was good. Loved the Thursday night Prime Ribs. They also do a Turkey Dinner every evening which is excellent. Early bird special dinners(till 5:30) are a real bargain, although limited choices and smaller portions.

Excellent casual comfortable family restaurant that has the most amazing turkey dinner around and prices that will insure you will be back again and again… Have also tried the lasagna(turkey was sold out) which was also perfect. The burger was .eh(its a burger) and not what they are famous for. The menu is simple and affordable — portions are hearty, and the service is hospitable and adequate — can tell they warm up a lot more to «the regulars». Even one that had four-legs was joining his master for dinner which we thought was very cool. We do not live close by which is probably a good thing for I think they would know us all too well before long. We will go as often as we can.

Haven’t been in for awhile must say the refurbishment looks very nice. Enjoyed a lovely meal near the fireplace unfortunately out of prime rib settled for the open face hot turkey sandwich w mashed potatoes n stuffing cranberry on the side. Portion was more than I could eat, presentation was nicely done. My date ordered the very large steak which weighs in at 32 ozs Was perfectly grilled taste was fantastic ! Came w choice of potatoes or fries n toss salada Enjoyed the cranberry bread slices along w regular bread basket served. Look forward to another dinning experience there

Food is okay Service is horrible! Even if the food was great its not worth being treated like they are doing you a favor by serving you. Waitress took 30 minutes to acknowledge us then food took over an hour to get, when questioned we were told it was because I ordered the sautéed scallops. Add to the fact its«CASHONLY» its not worth the trip. I suggest you pick another place

Terrible service, worst we have ever encountered. Took 90 minutes for foodfor 4to be served, we had to go ask if it was coming. Wanted to leave and they said it was being plated! We are too nice, we stayed and were treated like we were the problem! Will never go back there and will tell everyone about it! My son had a meatball sub that was uneatable and he can eat anything. Proprietor wanted to give us a complimentary dessert and all we wanted to do was leave, bill took 15 minutes with waitress staring a t us. Did leave a tip, though she did not deserve one. She thought it was funny.

I have been going to Winslow’s all of my life. Now I live out of state but every time I visit I make sure to dine at Winslow’s. Tessie’s oven roasted turkey is a must try! I find myself ordering it almost every time I go. It is served with salad, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. I’m drooling as I type this. The have other wonderful options which are great but the turkey is simply amazing it’s hard not to have it. The deserts are outstanding as well! Everything is made fresh daily. I recently went with a party of 12. Service was quick and Jeff the owner even came and talked to us. I believe it is a cash only but they have an atm located by the bathrooms. Indoor and outdoor seating if weather is permitted. The bar has recently been redone and looks beautiful. The restaurant has a rustic old town feel to it with hand built fire place and classic wood trim. It is open Wednesday — Saturday 4pm to 9pm and Sunday 1pm to 9pm. During track season in August the restraunt is open7 days a week.

Small menu, but what they do have is pretty damn good. If you’re a turkey fan and you’re in the Saratoga area, you owe it to yourself to stop at Winslow’s at least once! The dining room has a rustic charm to it and the wait staff are friendly and attentive. Their hours are pretty restrictive though(only open 5 days a week and 4 pm — 9 pm most nights.) Make a reservation if you don’t want to wait, especially if you’re going on a weekend.

My family and I were staying in Saratoga for a week, and we went to many great restaurants. This, however, is not one of them. Winslow’s had been recommended to us by many people. Maybe we came on an off night, but it was a terrible experience. First off, the waitress wasn’t the friendliest. As we were seated, we noticed that we were the youngest people in there by 20+ years. The décor was outdated and looked like a fuddy duddy Pennsylvania restaurant. However, we had heard rave reviews about the turkey, the homegrown veggies, etc. My sisters ordered the spaghetti– it was a glutinous mass of carbs that could have fed a small village for a week. My dad ordered a special, which was steak and a crab cake. Interesting combo, but he was the only one whose meal was ok. Mediocre but fine. My mom and brother ordered the same and said it was the worst restaurant we have ever been to in Saratoga Springs.

I, my wife & her parents arrived right on time at 6:30PM, per our reservation. The other 3 in our party were already there, waiting for us. We were seated almost immediately, even though it was packed, undoubtedly due to racing season. Everything was a bit slow but ok. We weren’t in a big hurry anyway … but we had no idea what awaited us. Within ~15 minutes, ordered & received drinks and began ordering dinners. Immediately informed that they were out of prime rib … AT ~6:45PM!!! Did I mention that it was the prime rib special night? Did I … oh yeah, I did mention that the prime rib was all gone at ~6:45PM. WTF??? Kindly given time to regroup. ~5 minutes later, 3 of our party ordered Tessie’s famous turkey dinner, 1 ordered lasagne, 1 ordered the chicken tender plate and, just because I’d never had anything other than the turkey dinner or prime rib and I wanted to try something different, I ordered chicken parmesan. Received our salads or soups within ~10 minutes. Watched, patiently, while other patrons who arrived after us were served, paid and left. Began showing a bit of our annoyance just after 8PM. Our dinners finally arrived at ~8:10PM, maybe by coincidence but only after I notified another waitress that one in our party was diabetic and needed to eat. We hadn’t even seen our waitress in quite a while. All of the turkey dinners were typically delicious but very shy of the normal amount of dressing and one had no dark meat, at all. The lasagne was, reportedly, «ok». The chicken tenders were way overcooked. My chicken parm was comprised of the same formerly frozen breaded chicken tenders, fairly bland sauce and mozzarella cheese. Actually, all of that may have been somewhat forgiveable under the«packed» circumstances, but our waitress seemed to forget that we even existed after she took our order, unlike all of the others who seemed to be having no trouble handling their tables. 3 in our party were drinking water and 2 others were drinking«Arnold Palmers» and she never even checked to see if they needed refills. She simply ignored us unless we spoke up. We would’ve ordered desserts & coffees but didn’t want to spend another hour and endure any more frustration. Bottom line: * I’ll never again go to Winslow’s during racing season. * I’ll never again order anything but the turkey dinner or prime rib. * I’ll never again tolerate that waitress. If I see her, I’ll request«not her». And just in case that ain’t enough: You need at least 2 – 3 clearly marked and easily accessible handicap parking spaces near the handicap ramp. Tonight the ramp was almost completely blocked by a big SUV … with no handicap plates or pendant, of course.

The best homemade turkey I have ever had in a restaurant. Almost as good as my Mom’s. The owner is the chef and he is there cooking everyday. His specials are really good. Also, if you have any room after eating generous portions of food, there is a long list of homemade desserts. This establishment has been there for many years. The setting is very casual, but always clean and updated.

Out of all the restaurants where I have dined(so far), there are only 2 places where I would order a turkey dinner. One was the now-defunct Holland House(aka«The Turkey Farm») in Gloversville, NY. The other is Winslow’s. While I’ve tried other selections on the menu and never been disappointed, I’m never too far away from ordering another turkey dinner there. It’s great, homestyle, comfort food in a rustic atmosphere(we were seated right in front of the fireplace tonight), with a friendly staff. If their regular turkey dinner is too much food for you, or you’re an early diner, you should consider taking advantage of their early bird specials, typically all between $ 10.95 and $ 12.95, including coffee or tea, salad or turkey rice soup, and a small dessert. And while Thursday is prime rib night, tonight we all ordered the early bird turkey dinner. The bowl of homemade chicken rice soup is small but tasty. The salad is just the right size for me, and their bleu cheese dressing has a touch of horseradish in it(big win!). And then there’s the slow-roasted moist turkey, dark and white meat, on sage dressing, and some of the best mashed potatoes you’ll ever have. The beer and wine selection is not extensive, but everything is very reasonably priced, especially the wines by the glass. Many people dine at the bar. While the early bird dessert is a small piece of delicious apple cinnamon bread pudding, those with heartier appetites who ordered off the regular meal can satisfy their sweet tooth with a variety of homemade pies, cakes, and cheesecakes. NOTE: They don’t take credit cards, but they do have an ATM at the entrance. Reservations strongly suggested on weekends, particularly during racing season!

Winslow’s is clearly a well established institution that feels as if it dates back to the 60’s. Pine paneling, vines and fake pine garland with twinkle lights rings the perimeter of the dining room. After reading other reviews I was expecting a bit more. The turkey was fresh, tender and delicious, but it was the high point. The accompaniments were average. Service at the bar was slow. My first glass of wine tasted as if the bottle had been open for days. The bartender immediately opened a new bottle when I asked how long the bottle had been open. It almost seemed as if he knew he shouldn’t have tried to pass off a $ 7 glass of stale wine. Prices posted on their website are outdated as most had increased by $ 2. Overall I’d give the meal a rating of «average». Topping off the meal; no credit cards, b they will accept a check or you may use their ATM(probably a $ 3 fee) to get cash so be prepared.

I love this place. The turkey dinner is their specialty and it is awesome but I usually try to get something different each time I go — most of the food is excellent. I like the eggplant parm, turkey, and stuffed mushrooms the most. I’ve had the specials there from time to time and they are usually very good.

Winslow’s looks like a country inn from the outside as you zip along Rte. 9 north of Saratoga Springs, NY, but inside you’ll find a terrific tavern /restaurant that’s been in existence since the 1940’s. My Dad has always called this the«Turkey Dinner» restaurant, and after our recent visit I can see how this place earned it’s nickname. We started our meal with the homemade turkey & rice soup, and then we both ordered the classic turkey dinner which came with a side salad, a very generous portion of oven-roasted turkey served over homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and turkey gravy, and that also came with a side of steamed broccoli and a scoop of sweet potato mash. And it was all priced for well under $ 20 per person!!! The turkey comes from a local farm, so it’s very fresh and extremely tasty and tender. The menu also features prime rib, ham, steaks, chops, veal, seafood, and a number of Italian specials. The desserts are all homemade, and they included cheesecake, cream pies, and some berry cobbler. The chef is classically trained at the Culinary Institute of American in Hyde Park, NY so you know that you’ll be served some incredibly delicious meals in a very comfortable setting. One note of caution — this place is cash only, so be prepared!

The food was tasteless. My wife hade a pasta dish that had no flavor at all. I had a burger, tough thing to mess up, but they did. The bigger was overcooked. Overall the food was horrible! If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Fresh, hot, moist turkey, delicious sticky stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, a dollop of sweet potato mash, broccoli and cranberry sauce. Oh… and a side salad with dressing of your choice… and a small slice of bread with butter. Got your attention? I’ve only heard of Winslow’s as «the place to get a great traditional turkey dinner to takeout». I’ve never been there for a sit-down experience, but I must say that if you’re hungry and want a hearty meal at home… this is a fabulous choice. One dinner is quite enough for two people to share(unless you’re REALLY hungry). Be prepared for a food-coma. AND… bring cash! It’s cash only. I’ve had this meal 3 times in the past year and it’s always consistent. It’s prepared quickly and efficiently… I’ll be back.

Ordered the turkey dinner for take out. I got to the restaurant at the time they told me and it was not ready. I waited at the bar while the bar tender went to check on the food. Still not ready. I told him I would like to pay the bill so I could go when the food came out. I gave the bar tender my debit card and was informed that they do not take that form of payment. Cash or checks only. They could have told me that when I called the order in. Not having that much cash on me, I was told there was an ATM machine in the lobby but, it was broken. I had to drive all the way to northern pines road at the Stewarts to get cash. It took me over an hour to get my order. I love Winslows turkey dinners but, I will never get take out again. I had a very frustrating experience.

Turkey dinner — enough for 2 meals! The chopped steak looks fantastic too! It was busy on a Saturday night, so we didn’t wait for dessert. Will update once we have the chance to try other items on the menu!

Everyone in the area refers to Winslow’s as The Turkey Restaurant because they are known for serving these incredible turkey dinners all year long. This is what I usually order(and have left overs for two more meals!), although my family and friends have had their prime rib and seafood, and were very pleased. Not much on atmosphere — it’s basically ‘country tavern’, which works for me — other than a cozy fireplace, but the food is always great, they offer a nice selection of specials, and the service is good. Friendly people. Very busy on Friday or Saturday nights, but well worth the wait. Winslow’s is one of Saratoga’s best kept secrets. But be warned, it’s cash only.
