First of all, this place has changed it’s name to Leroy French Bakery. Went during restaurant week, but didn’t find a bargain here. Their ad for restaurant stated that for $ 25, two people would receive a sandwich or quiche, a salad, a soup and a dessert. Wrong. You got a salad OR soup, not both. Their soup portions were small, but delicious. Both the potato and corn chowder were full of flavor. I chose the turkey sandwich and, again, the portion was small, but the sandwich was good, but not great. The bread tasted as if were from the day before. I found this odd since this is a bakery/café. The portion of quiche was miniscule; no more than ¼ inch thick and 3 inches at the widest part. It was flavorless. The desserts were good. Both of us ordered iced tea and received a flavored iced tea. I’m a firm believer that if all you have is a flavored tea, the customer should be informed of that when they order. Our waitress tried, bless her heart, but it was apparent that she did not know the menu or how to serve. Someone there needs to spend some time with her and show her how it’s done. One other thing, Leroy’s is slated to be at the Downtown Farmer’s Market each Saturday, but they have not been there the last two weeks.

I came here when this establishment first opened and loved it. They had a ton of baked goodies, both sweet and savory(all kinds of pastries with icing, etc and ham and cheese sandwiches). The food was delicious and I loved it even though it seemed a little pricey. I was back in there today and they had NO selection(2 quiches both from YESTERDAY) and a ham and cheese croissant. Since I was starving and didn’t feel like going anywhere else, I ordered 2 ham and cheese croissants and a piece of spinach and feta quiche(sharing with my husband). It was $ 10 for minimal food — I could have eaten all of that and still been starving. The food was mediocre at best. Ownership must have changed or else the owners just got lazy. The service was perfectly fine, but the board with the limited menu(3 items) wasn’t updated(even though 2 items were the same because they were from yesterday). It says they open at 7:30am so I would assume that all of the goodies should be out by then, but the display cases were bare. I also seem to remember they had a coffee service, but now the only coffee is sitting on a side table in two separate containers(along with tea bags). Everything just seemed so cheap and not well done. The Espresso Bar & Café that is on the walking mall has better pastry/breakfast choices.

A recent reviewer speculated that ownership had changed hands during the past few months, and I agree that that is the most logical explanation for the sad display of ineptly baked croissants and a single, stale loaf of bread that I bought and eventually fed to the birds in my back yard. I was told that they do not even bake bread very often anymore, as it wasn’t moving off the shelves quickly enough. If those unsold loaves were half as bad as the one I purchased, it is no surprise.

Ownership must have changed. Pastry selections are very different from a few months ago. There are very few options now and I didn’t see any croissants. Also, employees should not be sitting around at the tables for customers. It was not a very inviting atmosphere.

This is my first time here and I wanted to have a sweet desert after my lunch at the Thai restaurant. The locals mentioned that it was a great bakery. Little did I know I would get really bad service. I walked in with my family, husband and 3 kids. My daughter order a pastry and the girl ignore her. I re ordered the pastry for my daughter and when I paid for my items I noticed there were only 3 items. I asked the girl behind the counter that I was missing items and she said I didn’t add that to the bill, yet the bill was over $ 20 for 3 small items. I will never go back because of the over all experience.

The croissants, both savory and sweet, are unparalleled. We tried the ham & cheese, the chocolate and the almond, and all were amazing. The quiche was also stellar(be sure to have them warm it up)! We bought two loafs of bread, one standard baguette and one larger French loaf. While the French loaf was excellent, the baguette was a little hard and may have been from the day before. All in all, a very cute place with incredibly authentic French baking!

My husband and I stopped by for a late brunch and enjoyed looking over the baked goods. The server was very helpful with suggestions and describing the pastries. We ended up with a raspberry croissant and a spinach & feta quiche. Both were delicious: one savory and one perfectly sweet. We will be back again(in fact I’ve already made a date with some friends) because we want to spread the word. Very excited to see what successes this little shop can come into.

I stopped by this little French Bakery for a late breakfast/early lunch. The small space was already filled at 11 on a Tuesday, that’s always a good sign. There were two ladies helping customers and they were both incredibly friendly and helpful. I ordered the tomato soup and chicken salad lunch combo. Both were amazing and reasonably priced(I believe it was under $ 8) but the real stars are the pastries. I ordered two raspberry cheese claws to go and intended to take one to my husband. I have never had anything more delicious! Perfectly crisp, buttery, creamy, and sweet. Needless to say my husband never got his. I have been dreaming of my return visit. If you are ever near this place, even if you’re not hungry, stop by and get some pastry or cheesecake for later. You won’t regret it!

Bön Matin used to be in Berryville years ago. So nice to see it again! They have lovely croissants, plain and filled, quiches, cookies and lunch items, plus numerous other items. My favorite is the ham & cheese quiche served with salad, and a bowl of the day’s delicious soup. The baguettes are fresh, but not as crusty as I prefer. Perhaps they will improve over time. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the space is clean, light and welcoming. A winner!
