I don’t think there’s a better place in the area to buy equipment. I walked in looking to buy a zero-turn mower. I had two different companies in mind(both that they carried), but wasn’t sure which model yet. They helped me narrowed it down and offered to let me «test drive» a couple of of different manufacturers. Although I intended on demoing a couple of the mowers, my schedule just didn’t allow the time for it. So, I walked in earlier this week and bought a brand new Ferris 2100z. They had just received this particular model in stock the day before, so it wasn’t yet put together. They told me they’d call me later in the afternoon and it would be ready for pick-up today. I stopped in around 4:30 to pick up my mower. Not only did they load it onto my trailer for me, they let me borrow their ramps as mine weren’t wide enough for the mower. Yes. They let me take their ramps home, offload the mower, then bring them back. After closing time, too. I can’t say enough great things about the service and knowledge here. They do what it takes to make the customer happy, and absolutely know what they’re talking about. There’s no reason to buy from a big-box store over a place like this.

Was recommended Cutting Edge Small Engine Repair and received great customer service. They were responsive to emails, which I appreciate since phone isn’t always convenient and some places can get busy so you end up on hold. They were honest up front about being behind due to the early warm weather this year and estimated six weeks before they could get to my lawn mower for a tune up. I even heard them telling another customer there was another place in Boyce with a three week wait in a «Miracle on 34th Street» sort of way if he wanted his sooner. I called about four weeks after dropping off to see if six weeks was still the case and they said that if I could hold the mechanic working on my mower was just doing his diagnostic and would give me an update. He said it would be a couple more days and estimated about $ 250 – 300 for the service, saying he’d call me by the following Tuesday. Sure enough, I got a call on Tuesday and it was only $ 224. If Unilocal had half stars, I would give them 4.5 because when I picked up there was a glitch that was causing the mower to shut off when the blade was engaged and then backfire. To their credit though the guy delivering the mower found that though because he checked before handing it over, even though he didn’t do the work. He took it right back to the shop and after waiting 20 minutes or so brought it back working right. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt because they got my mower back to me sooner and cheaper than estimated.
