Enrico’s is different they have great pizza and i enjoy going there i travel 70 miles sometimes to get it. These people commenting giving it a bad score are out of their minds. If they want Papa John’s or Dominoes then go get that! Enrico’s Pizza is kind and dank. I assume a lot of people can’t appreciate the old school style which it is made. They put the toppings under cheese and i LOVE that. If you don’t like that go get Pizza Hut. I love Enrico’s and think it’s probably the 2nd best pizza place in Virginia. I think the people commenting here are locals who are bitter for some reason. They don’t realize the treasure they have in their backyard. Just seeing the building, an awesome classic styled pizzeria building from the 1970’s. it’s so cool, definitely one of a kind architecture, All these locals commenting seem to want Enrico’s to go away so they can put a Domino’s Pizza in Enrico’s place … I don’t understand. People of Winchester should be proud they have a throwback treasure like Enrico’s Pizza and need to realize the rest of us aren’t as lucky to have an Enrico’s in our town! I look forward to my visits to Enrico’s and their tasty one of a kind pizza very much!

I love Enrico’s, their subs are good and pizza is good for Winchester. I have been going there off and on for thirty five years and have to admit it was better before it burned down and was re-built. Honestly it is no doubt cleaner now, but something about the old place just made the steak & Cheese taste better. Still not bad at all.

Gone are the hippies that ran Enricos for years. Teenage potheads lined up on Fridays and Saturday nights. Steak Subs slathered in mayonnaise and provolone. Gone also is the taste!

I’m just going to come clean and say that based on the Unilocal review score as of right now(2.5 stars) I didn’t want to give Enrico’s a shot — but, my husband likes«variety» so what I did was order two pizzas — one from Enrico’s and one from La Pizza(and we love us some La Pizza). They come in identical boxes, so, at our home, we attempted a blind taste test with several friends. Guess what? Everyone knew which was which immediately on sight of the pizza. Because, La Pizza puts toppings on the TOP of the pizza, and Enrico’s buries them under the cheese.(Hello, they’re called TOPpings.) The crusts and sauces are completely different — Enrico’s crust is crisper and slightly thinner, if that’s what you’re into — La Pizza has a nice thin hand-tossed style that just seems more welcoming. The Marinara from La Pizza is traditional, but the one from Enrico’s is… well, it has a really unique flavor, and I’m personally not a fan of it. The ultimate frustration with the taste test? Everyone concurring that La Pizza was better pizza but that ENRICO’S COSTMORE. Ugh. It’s probably a never again for us, folks.

I have been a loyal customer of Enrico’s since they opened the doors nearly 40 years ago. As one of the other reviewers mentioned on Unilocal, the food is nothing at all like it use to be. They have recently done a make over of the menu and actually lowered the price of the famous Steak & Cheese Sub from $ 8.15 to $ 7.00. I asked when I ordered what had changed. «Absolutely nothing» I was told. Well either the girl that talked to me doesn’t know what this sub use to be like or she is deliberately covering up for the mess this sandwich now is. I have literally spent thousands of dollars over the years on these subs but I won’t buy another one unless they make it the old way. Now they are chopping up the steak and mixing it with the onions which are also chopped. The old way the steak was not chopped and the onion was layered in on top. The sandwich now has a very very dry along with a slight burned taste to it. The girl who waited on me told me there had not been any change in the steak however I’m not certain I believe that? Also you don’t taste the onion! Bad Bad Very Bad mistake on this change! Also almost no lettuce to mention and the other thing is the sub roll has changed. I called and offered my review on the new change on how it is now being prepared and was sort of nicely blown off. I was told the sub was now toasted which is why it is no longer a soft roll. That is «BS» I have eaten hundreds of these subs over the years and now the roll has a hard top to it and is a bit crumbly and dry! They don’t even take the time to cut it in half anymore. I had to cut it myself when I got home. It comes no longer wrapped in the butcher paper but rolled up in a thin layer of foil,(another bad decision)! You know when you have a good thing and have made as much money on food sales as Enrico’s has over the years you DON’T CHANGETHEPRODUCT! For all the patrons of Enrico’s who have enjoyed their Steak & Cheese Sub over the years take it from me you won’t enjoy the way they are now preparing it. Enrico’s needs to go back to «THEORIGINALWAYOFMAKINGTHINGS»! I certainly won’t be back unless things are changed and can no longer endorse them.

I was a loyal customer of Enrico’s up until the late 90’s when it suffered a fire, after then it has never been the same. It’s changed owners a couple times and I’m sure the new staff try their best but the food is NOTHING like it was before, not even similar. The pizza used to be smothered in fresh sliced provolone and whatever toppings you ordered. It was also cut in a non traditional fashion resulting slices with square ends. If you have’nt tried it in a while and expect it to be like it was forget it. On a scale of 1 – 10 I would give it a 3 or 4. The pizza is very generic and the subs are just ok, nothing special. If they would try to copy the recipes of old I may give them another chance but not the way things are now. I also notice they are selling burgers and BBQ? Here’s some free advice, keep the menu very simple like it used to be.

When I pulled in it was lunch time, but the parking lot was practically empty. That was a red flag, but I was hungry so I purchased a medium pepperoni to go at Enrico’s. The staff was friendly and helpful but the pizza was not something I’d try again. The crust was undercooked and doughy and the sauce tasted like it was put together by someone who made up their own recipe based on what they had read pizza sauce was supposed to taste like, but had never actually tasted themselves. You could tell there was tomato in it, but there was also some unidentifiable ingredient that gave it a slightly off taste. The cheese was the typical watery, bland stuff you see at Papa John’s and other chains that suffer from cost-cutting measures. Overall it was maybe ½ notch above your typical store-bought freezer pizza. I added one star to the rating due to the great service — if that gives you any idea on the quality of the food.

I order Enrico’s pizza at least once a week and they have some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Also, they offer a large cheese pizza for $ 5 on weekdays. Great food for a great price!
