What a COOL, retro coffee shop! Super neat all the way thru from the exterior to the seating instead in front of a roaster! Coffee was just as retro and unique! WILL BE BACK! This was a neat hidden treasure in Winchester, VA!

Delicious coffee, sinfully good baked goods, and a charming little shop. There are lunch and dinner items as well. Definitely coming back with friends.

Life changing coffee! Our family stopped in while heading south on 81. The coffee was delicious. We talked about it to everyone we saw for the rest of the week. If you really love coffee, you must go here. If you need lots of additions to get your coffee down (like syrups), then you might not like it.

Feel luck to have such a great coffee company and roaster in northern va. good for groups and meetings as well… also killer record collection!!!

My husband and I have been in the South recently and it is a locally owned coffee desert. Coming to this spot was a true oasis.
Ambience:
The location we went to is a restaurant (Bonnie Blue), grocer, and coffee bar all in one. The coffee bar is right when you walk in the door. The bar is a small set up and offers a pretty basic menu, but after tasting this coffee I know they chose quality over quantity. There are several tables inside the establishment as well as a counter where you can sit facing out the window.
Service:
Not over the top friendly but the people were nice enough and a nice older later rang us up.
Coffee:
This is a true coffee shop and offers coffees from different regions and even has a coffee subscription program (see the picture). The regular coffees on the menu come with a brief description. I had a decaf coffee and was pleased to see that the barista brewed a fresh press pot for this! My husband had a cappuccino which had a rich earthy espresso.
Overall:
Absolutely give this place a shot. Great coffee! I will definitely return here or to the Milwood location to try some of the different coffees. There is hope for Virginia ;)

Worst pumpkin spice latte I’ve ever had… Taste terrible almost like a hot pumpkin milk shake. So gross

If you only get coffee from starbucks, avoid this place.
If you are a hipster/​enjoy real, freshly roasted coffee/​need a change of environment from your too cool for school apartment, this is your spot.
Coffee is fantastic. They have an actual barista making every drink/​cup of coffee individually=awesomeness. The fanciest thing you can get is a mocha, so starbie’s beware.
Environment is great. I can get work done without feeling like a droid.
Its a little warm because they are roasting the coffee in house; however, I am by no means unfomfortable.
Snacks/​food are limited BUT they do have bonnie blue goodies. If you plan on having a full day study session– bring lunch or be prepared to go grab something.
I am happy here.

I like to get my coffee from these folks in 5lb bags! Best coffee around the area, super delicious. The roasting is done very well and it shines through in the flavor of their products.

I am not a fancy coffee person. I dont need extra shots or flavorings or tiny nutmegs to better my cup. I can say with total sincerity none of those things are necessary when you are drinking Hopscotch. Seriously a great cup of coffee. Not bitter or offensively strong– when I take a sip I dont feel like im being assaulted by my beverage.
Now others that have accompanied me for coffee DO like those sweet and frilly drinks– and they assure me they are equally as delish. Clearly no matter what your coffee preference Hopscotch will satisfy.
Also– the place is crazy cool and the owner is hot — so its got that going for it also :)

Best coffee in Winchester! French Press Coffee, which is just so so good. No wacky flavors, just pure and simple. A coffee lovers dream. Sometimes I wish they had IV stations ;) it’s a darker more flavorful coffee. Not for the faint of heart!

What a treasure to find a coffee shop like this in Winchester! Not only do they roast their own beans, brew their own coffee, but they have also done an excellent job of creating the complete coffee experience with the environment of the store. It has a cozy/​hipster/​artsy feel to it that embodies the local coffee shop vibe that I love. Once you step inside, you can catch a glimpse of the coffee roaster. Their brewed coffee is only brewed via French press so you can enjoy the full flavor of their beans; this way, the filters won’t strip away all the goodness when the coffee is being brewed! We also enjoyed a delicious blueberry muffin as well (I believe the pastries are from Bonnie Blue). The roast seemed a little on the medium side and I will definitely be inquiring about a more bold selection next time. For a medium roast, it tasted excellent though. It was definitely a treat to find a coffee shop that was unique, friendly, and passionate about their work.
I should also mention that they have a moderate selection of records for sale as well. Something fun to look through while you’re sipping on your espresso.

I love this place I really really do. Its really hip, and eclectic and offers many different types of coffee. They use a French press or pour over which in my book always gets a huge review. The sad down side is the roast of the coffee, it’s just not very good in fact its pretty bad. I would love to give this place five plus stars because I like it so much but this review is not based on Bonnie Blues but only the coffee bar. I’m under the impression that Hopscotch is a local roaster as I saw a new roaster under this name pop up in Winchester. Maybe they will get better? As for now the coffee is somewhat over roasted and dry, and lowered this review. I hope to try this again in the future. Again I love Bonnie Blue’s but can’t say the same for the coffee.

truly incredible coffee!!! if you consider yourself a coffee connoisseur this product won’t disappoint! Hopscotch is the best coffee in town! Don’t just get a cup… Buy several bags!!! You’ll find yourself dreaming about it later!

French Press in a Thermos?! Have I died and gone to coffee heaven?! Why is this place the only coffee bar to do this?! In all my travels… Winchester scores highest for ingenuity, bravado, baristo-​mucho-​perfecto. Score!
Yeah so anyways, the barista here is passionate about coffee and latte art and has taken it upon himself to educate this quaint apple town on coffee. And IT IS GOOD!

Located inside Bonnie Blues. This is the best place to get coffee in the area. Really coffee doesn’t get much better than what you’ll find here. Small batch roasted here in Winchester. The serve yourself press pot is from a french press and its high test, full bodied and well balanced. If you appreciate good coffee this place won’t let you down.

Hopscotch is super friendly. They have a great cup of locally roasted coffee, conveniently located in Bonnie Blues where you can grab an amazing breakfast croissant to go with it.
