I had the Pastrami melt, which was outstanding, and my wife had the hamburger, which was also amazing. Shared a cup of soup beans … which may be the best around. JK’s continues to be a favorite in the local area; everything we’ve had has been great!

This is a quality meal. I had the hot brown burger and it was fantastic. If you want an Ice cold Ale8 it’s in the old chest freezer. The staff was very friendly and polite. There’s not a ton of seating and it reminds me of an old country store rather than a restaurant however, I have never had such good food in a country store before. I will be back and I recommend this place for anyone just wanting quality food without all the frills.

This is the kind of place I’ve been looking for a while here here in Kentucky. This is your down-home family cooking that I’ve come to love over my lifetime. I’m really happy I found this place I got to try it. Do you want to talk about good food at a good price this is definitely the place you want to be. I land up getting a biscuit with ham and egg on it with cheese and biscuits and gravy. I was very happy with my choice. And it all cost me about $ 6 for this meal. The people on this restaurant were very polite and helpful on what I was ordering. I really like the set up of this place it feels like you’re sitting at home eating breakfast with your family. This will become one of my new destinations now to just go and sit down and eat and relax. The only downside to this is their not open for dinner but it out for breakfast and lunch it’s still worth it all the way.

JK’s Café at Forrest Grove is the hidden gem of Winchester. The food is always fresh and hot. Service always comes with a smile. This is our go-to for breakfast and lunch. From the BBQ to the Roast Beef, to the ice cold Ale-8, its all worth the trip. And don’t forget dessert. Get the strawberry pretzel salad, you won’t regret it. Greg & his staff are great.

Yep, just as the reviews stated. Perfect for a simple set down or to go breakfast and lunch. Best thing is… it’s like eating with family. Quick, friendly and easy. Worst thing is… I want this kept a secret. Come give it a try… or not! Lol

I really enjoy this place. I haven’t been in a while but I always enjoy it. It’s not the most amazing food but you can tell they care about what they do and always make you feel welcome. Their Ale 8s are in one of the old school coolers and are so cold they freeze when opened. I recommend after a Saturday morning walk to get here and have coffee and lunch/brunch.

Is it just me or has jk’s changed Seems they went with some bad bacon. Ordered french toast and got raisen bread toasted like in a toaster with syrup on it. Was such a cool place for breakfast but sure noe I would not go back.

This cozy, country restaurant is near and dear to my heart; exactly one mile from where I grew up. Their lunch menu is expanding and changing every week. Great place for a quick lunch break with great sandwiches, soups, burgers, salad, etc. Had the pulled pork BBQ salad today & it was excellent. Italian cowboy sand which is also delicious! Greg & the family provide great food & friendly service! Eat local!

If great down home cooking is what your tummy is craving, then this is the place you want to visit. This family owned and operated establishment located off the beaten path will make you feel right at home when you sit down at the table. JK’s offers a very laid back friendly service of breakfast and lunch. They sell some local specialties from Ale-8 to beer cheese and even School Spirit’s Windchime Signature Coffee. So if you are driving down Old Boonesboro Road stop in and pay them a visit. I guarantee you wont regret it. They are also part of the newly launched Beer Cheese Trail.

Great little place out in the country for breakfast and lunch! Home cooked meals for both breakfast and lunch. It’s a family owned place, and at least one of the family members is always there. Try their version of the KY Hotbrown. Has a nice front porch you can sit out on and eat.
